Taquiyya and Denial

During the many years that I did drugs, I denied the presence of the wolves at the door. I denied the immediate reality of a life out of control and ignored those who begged me to think of my future. I was in terror of “the present” and a future was something I obviously had insufficient courage to contemplate. Raw reality frightened me more than the death of friends from overdoses. I ignored the evidence of ravaged lives and families torn asunder. If I had been quite rich, perhaps I could have continued playing Russian roulette with my life, but alternate realities generally require funding. The reality I so assiduously avoided was waiting patiently to reward me with the fruits of my ill spent years when I could no longer afford to flee.
Religion and drugs can be similar in that way. Like drugs, religion has the capacity to sooth, dispel fears, to create a womb of warm content, a promise of safety, a reprieve from pain. Whatever you fear most can be sent back into the shadows with a few good drugs or promises of surety from god and government.
I ponder this after reading an exceedingly blithe description of dhimmitude and the caliphate from a “journalist” who ingests the Taquiyya offered by Islamists like a junkie hungering for a fix. There can be no other explanation for the sustained obtuseness of those who deny the reality of Islam and their caliphate dreams. It strikes me as the same type of denial that enabled me to rationalize a needle in my arm. Taquiyya is the bony hand of Islam soothing the dhimmis brow, the drug of choice for those who can’t face the reality of the Islamic wolves at the door.
Referring to Bush’s use of the word caliphate as another Republican scare tactic, Muslim tool Timothy Gatto goes on to reassure his readers of the benign nature of caliphate and one begins to see yet another reason that the left gravitates to Islam.
“The issue of the caliphate provides a valuable space in which to explore the question of contemporary globalization and religious authority. This is not only because a number of Islamic political movements (Al-Qaida among them) aim to re-establish caliphate institutions, but also because wider debates about the waning influence of the nation-state under globalization may render such models of transnational religious polity more attractive.”So what is a Caliphate now that we know who wants them? From Caliphate.eu, this is the definition; “The Caliphate is a unique political system from the ideology of Islam that bears no resemblance to any of the Muslim Governments today. It is a government built upon a concept of citizenship regardless of ethnicity, gender or creed and is totally opposed to the oppression of any religious or ethnic grouping.
Yes, in the world of relativism Al Qaida is merely an “Islamic political movement” and the left’s disdain for the sovereign nation state allow them to view a “transnational religious polity” without the horror that would attend such a suggestion were the religion Christianity of Judaism. That the writer then chooses to substantiate his premise by quoting a passage that dares to assert that Islam “is totally opposed to the oppression of any religious or ethnic grouping.” makes me wonder if he even bothered to read what he cut and paste.
“Non-Muslims have an honorable status in the Caliphate. They are referred to as dhimmi (people of contract), which means they are equal citizens with the Muslims and enjoy the full rights of citizenship. Unlike in Britain they are not given derogatory names like “ethnic minorities” or “immigrants”, that implies they are 2nd class citizens and not really welcome. The rights of non-Muslims are enshrined in statutory Islamic Law (shariah) and cannot be reversed by legal precedent or the whims of any government. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: “Whoever harms a dhimmi has harmed me.” Of course this is a ‘Pro-Caliphate site.”
Excuse me? He hasn’t heard of Somalia? The constant references to Jews and Christians as apes and pigs has escaped him? The ongoing slaughter of Christians in Muslim countries does not strike him as religious oppression. It doesn’t strike him as odd that nary one Christian church can be found in Saudi Arabia? Such willing blindness to reality is stunning.
Yes, indeed it is a Pro-Caliphate site which begs the question why the author stopped his “research” there. Because Taquiyya satisfied his addiction to a reality wherein Bush is a fear monger and Bin Laden a new type of global thinker. Some honest searching on the internet would have offered ample evidence as to the true nature of the Sharia law and the actual state of those subject to dhimmitude..
Islamic militias that seized control of much of southern Somalia have executed a man by firing squad, the first public execution since they took over in June. The man killed Friday, was sentenced to death for murdering a man in a cell phone dispute. A spokesman for the Islamic courts said the execution will send a message that Islamic sharia law will be enforced.(link)
“Somalia’s Islamic courts have increased their attacks on Mogadishu’s free press during the last week, which has seen the closure of the privately-owned ‘Radio Jowhar’ and the 48-hour detention of Osman Adan Areys, a journalist based in the central city of Beledweyn. The Islamists have started to rigidly control the cultural life, including the press, in the Mogadishu region.
The regional government of Middle Shabelle, which is backed by the Islamic courts in Mogadishu, ordered the privately-owned Jowhar-based ‘Radio Jowhar’ to stop broadcasting music and songs on 9 September. The Islamist movement is trying to ban all kind of music in Somalia, along with other cultural expressions.
The French news agency AFP quoted a commander in the Supreme Islamic Council of Somalia (SICS) as saying the aim was to stop the broadcasting of “music that promotes devilish behaviour.” An Islamic court official quoted by the ‘Associated Press’ said: “It is useless to air music and love songs for the people.” (link)
”
“Nawaal Mohammed has two boyfriends and used to wander the streets holding hands with the favorite of the moment. They went to the movies. She even kissed them secretly, in their houses or hers.
“Now I’m afraid to be arrested or beaten,” she said. “It’s safer than before, but we have no freedom. We are not happy with this Islamic Sharia law.”
She dreads donning a drab hijab before leaving the house.
“It’s hot. It’s too heavy. If I wear hijab, I don’t feel pretty,” she said. “I feel that I don’t have any freedom.”(link)
This lazy fool goes on to whine….
The Republicans are using this “Caliphate” supposition to back up their new ads that they have launched. I saw one today. They are using quotes from Bin Laden and others to show how much of a threat that they are to America.
The caliphate is not a “supposition” as proven by the very Bin Laden quotes this jack ass spins as Bush propaganda.
From Daniel Pipes:
“In nearly all cases, the jihadi terrorists have a patently self-evident ambition: to establish a world dominated by Muslims, Islam, and Islamic law, the Shari’a. Or, again to cite the Daily Telegraph, their “real project is the extension of the Islamic territory across the globe, and the establishment of a worldwide ‘caliphate’ founded on Shari’a law.”Terrorists openly declare this goal. The Islamists who assassinated Anwar el-Sadat in 1981 decorated their holding cages with banners proclaiming the “caliphate or death.” A biography of one of the most influential Islamist thinkers of recent times and an influence on Osama bin Laden, Abdullah Azzam declares that his life “revolved around a single goal, namely the establishment of Allah’s Rule on earth” and restoring the caliphate.
Bin Laden himself spoke of ensuring that “the pious caliphate will start from Afghanistan.” His chief deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, also dreamed of re-establishing the caliphate, for then, he wrote, “history would make a new turn, God willing, in the opposite direction against the empire of the United States and the world’s Jewish government.” Another Al-Qaeda leader, Fazlur Rehman Khalil, publishes a magazine that has declared “Due to the blessings of jihad, America’s countdown has begun. It will declare defeat soon,” to be followed by the creation of a caliphate.Or, as Mohammed Bouyeri wrote in the note he attached to the corpse of Theo van Gogh, the Dutch filmmaker he had just assassinated, “Islam will be victorious through the blood of martyrs who spread its light in every dark corner of this earth.“
If our dhimmi reporter would look up from his dime bag of Taquiyah, he might find far more to induce fear than anything Bush could evoke. Taquiyah is indeed a very seductive drug for a West addicted to denial.

Save your sympathy for yourself Gatto as you’ll no doubt need some comfort when your world comes crashing down on you.
It is amusing that you apply a western lens to the concept of caliphate or world domination. A westerner is indeed insulted to be accused of imperialism of any sort but such is the centerpiece of Islam. You can not “denigrate” muslims by referring to a main tenet in their faith. You make the same bloody mistake all in your cursed profession make and approach Islam from a western paradigm. It is you who actually “denigrate” Islam by rendering what is sacred to them as insult.
Your premise is that George attempted to scare Americans, again falling into the stupid mindset that jihad is a Bush fabrication to support an “unjustified” war, ignoring the plethora of evidence attesting to the Islamic quest for world domination.
No wonder you make such a splendid sycophant - your arrogance matches that of our would-be conquerers.
You continue to fail to recognize that it islam’s sole purpose to re-establish a world caliphate and the obtuse cowardice that you and your ilk exhibit will, no doubt, greatly help in paving the way. I’m not going to do your Googling for you son. There is far more evidence supporting my contentions than your weak apologetics.
My post stands and I seriously suggest that you examine your addiction to the pabulum of deceit that you regularly suckle.
