The English…..
…… are known for their mild eccentricity [often not so mild] but the Scots can be quite inadvertently eccentric/peculiar too. In this report about a large container washed up on a beach in the Western Isles off Scotland, we find this:
The beach is known as Stinky Bay because of the fermenting seaweed found there.
I guess they’re not big on tourism there, and this from Alisdair MacEachern, director of environmental services in the region:
“It’s a big object so you can’t miss it, and it’s not often you see something like that on the beach.
I imagine they’ve never seen something like that on the beach before.

"Conjure magic for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom, and still they'll roar. The beating heart of Rome is not the marble of the Senate. It's the sand of the Coliseum. He'll bring them death... and they will love him for it."
