Denial is a powerful antidote to reality. I remember realizing after 9.11 that acknowledging the reality of Jihad doesn’t allow for the continued self-indulgence we in the West have come to think is our sacred right.

For me, there isn’t a thing that I hold dear that hasn’t the shadow of Islam over it; my country, my children’s future……that is hard to live with. I really do wish I could find enough facts to convince me that the Islamic threat is a bogus construct of war mongers. I wish I could swallow whole the platitudes of appeasers and cowards. But one merely has to read headlines in Europe, kosokov, new Zealand, the Netherlands, et al, and the snarls and spit of Islam is what froths to the top of the news heap.

To accept Jihad is to accept that the party is over. Unfortunately , the Boomer generation seems never able to accept that reality. And we will all pay.
