Theodore Dalrymple: The veneer of non-judgmentalism must always be thin, because non-judgmentalism is virtually an impossibility. The desirability of non-judgmentalism is itself a judgment; indeed, it is hardly too much to say that life is judgment. In effect, non-judgmentalism is a rhetorical stick with which to beat aspects of the status quo which the non-judgmentalist does not like.

Muslim Apologists are Tiresome

…reports published in the Washington Post and USA Today in December 2006 found that 45 percent of Americans held negative views of Islam. He said such a change “is not natural.” He blamed “the American right wing” and the media for creating this negative view to help win elections. (link)

That is the standard, tired out dissimulation. It’s constantly intoned by muslim apologists who, like the deranged anti-Semite Juan Cole, just do not quite seem to understand that Americans are fast recognizing the idiocy of the argument.

Juan, sweetie, one only has to read daily international news accounts to form an opinion on Muslims and Islam. For instance, I find it is the most natural thing in the world to conclude that my freedom of speech will be severely limited (among many other freedoms) should creeping Islamic sharia prevail. My certitude of this threat is not derived from sessions with Rush Limbaugh, but by going online and finding the latest effort by an “offended” muslim to silence, or kill, a critic. Here are a couple examples, from thousands.

The announcement also proposed sending letters to the media explaining that the threats are motivated by Wilders’ attacks on the Koran, and urges forum members to recruit Muslim youth in Europe and to train them to make bombs to attack the Netherlands, which they called “an apostate country occupying Afghanistan.”

If Not Oil, Will You Go to War for Orgasms?

This photo accompanies a New York Slime piece on genital mutilation and it occurred to me that it is probably safe to say that not one of these women has had, or will ever have, a climax. It strikes me that orgasm suppression might be a cause that will finally resonate with the comatose left. The libido obsessed progressives can surely put their sympathies behind a whole class of women who have been orgasm deprived for their entire lives. If the left will not go to war for oil, they can certainly be roused to go to war for the big “O”. I mean what is the point in masturbating for peace if sexual pleasure isn’t a primary plank in the Progressive platform on human rights.

And what of those on the left who went into conniptions over the purported sexual degradation perpetuated at Abu Ghraib. If they can become apoplectic over underwear shrouding a prisoners head, certainly they can muster some indignation over the degradation that a young girl undergoes when her legs are splayed open and her clitoris cut out.

And where are those Christo-phobes concerned parents and activists who campaign against teaching abstinence, claiming it is a regressive, puritanical holdover that suppresses sexuality. Perhaps they can be induced to quit railing at Christians who preach abstinence long enough to address what passes for sexual education in America’s burgeoning Africa/Muslin refugee population.

They are told that if the clitoris is left alone, it will grow and drag on the ground; that if their daughters are left uncircumcised, they will be wild, and will crave men; that no man from their home country will marry them uncircumcised (although many African men say that they prefer uncircumcised women for sex and marriage); that circumcision aids in menstruation and childbirth (although the opposite is true in both cases); and that it is a religious–usually Islamic–requirement …

Don’t Let the Trash Back In

I was still a comatose, pliant default liberal when Clinton was in office. I paid little notice to his antics nor politics in general. I was the perfect lemming (an irony, given that is the state of mind ascribed to loyal Americans; us Limbaugh-indoctrinated, redneck rubes, but, I digress),completely indifferent to what was going on in this nation. Thus, I missed reading about the many other ways that the Clintons managed to stain the White House.

Hillary is distasteful no matter what patina she tries to veneer to her chameleon skin, yet, for all her many facades, she never succeeds in achieving dignity or exuding elegance or class. So it isn’t surprising that she and Billy apparently had no objection to Hollywood trash befouling Abe Lincoln’s bed. In real life, when people trash your home and violate your trust, you don’t invite them back. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Do you really want to open the White House door to these people again?

Over the course of Bill Clinton’s administration, the Lincoln Bedroom was rented to 831 different people. That total does not include the Clintons’ relatives or their guests (of which there were 35); nor does it include daughter Chelsea’s guests (72). Islam is Silencing You

If you look to the far right column you’ll notice a new widget under the title “Islam Silencing You“. Click the link and you’ll find a slide show of sites and articles referencing the many current and past instances of Muslim intolerance and western appeasement. I mean, who the hell needs suicide bombers when the mere anticipation of the collective cacophony of “offended” Muslims will spin spineless cultural and political “leaders” facing towards Mecca faster than a compass needle honing in on true North.

The Religion of Peace is threatening violence yet again. This time over a movie by Geert Wilders ,Dutch Parlamentarian, that proposes to simply tell the truth about the Koran and Islam. And the usual dhimmi jack asses bray on cue.

The Dutch government is bracing itself for violent protests following the scheduled broadcast this week of a provocative anti-Muslim film by a radical right-wing politician who has threatened to broadcast images of the Koran being torn up and otherwise desecrated.

Cabinet ministers and officials, fearing a repetition of the crisis sparked by the publication of cartoons of Muhammad in a Danish newspaper two years ago, have held a series of crisis meetings and ordered counter-terrorist services to draw up security plans. Dutch nationals overseas have been asked to register with their embassies and local mayors in the Netherlands have been put on standby.

You’ll note the appellation of ‘radical’ to ‘right wing’. Indeed, defense of nation, of Western values and traditions is discounted as the coinage of bigots and racists. What utter crap! Freedom to think as you will and utter the words that your soul and conscience demand of you is the essence of a redeemed and civilized humanity.

This is absurd that a government cowers before theocratic jackals, tremulously feeding them, piece by bloody piece, the red meat of our freedoms.

The censorship of all criticism of Islam is evident in each and every country where a sufficient population of islamists combine with their liberal and progressive allies to absolutely cut off at the knees any and all who dare describe Islam for what it is and does. I have often called it soft jihad, or political islam. It doesn’t really matter if it is CAIR or the Muslim Brotherhood or a random Iman snarling fatwas. It is irrelevant which prong of the Islamic pitchfork is sticking in your infidel ass. They all lead to the same place. Silence. Slavery. Dhimmitude.

Thus, given the frequency with which Muslims sue in America, or riot in Europe, or behead in the middle-east, it is almost impossible to blog every attempt to censor and muzzle the West. So I will link reports as I find them and they will be compiled in that widget thing up there.

Finally Someone Worth Voting For

Meet Jill Stevens, a woman worthy of respect – a rare thing these days. Would this caliber female present herself as a presidential candidate, I might consider voting for a woman. For now, Jill is running in the Miss America pageant, or some variation thereof, and needs your vote.

She may be a looker, but it is also apparent that she has been awarded the Combat Medic Badge. In the Army, the CMB, along with the CIB (Combat Infantry Badge), is considered to be the most prestigious award available, and is worn on the uniform above all other badges and awards, including the Medal of Honor.
I commanded an Army Medevac Unit and have the highest regard for Army (and for that matter, Navy, Marine, and Air Force) medics. As a group, their dedication to duty, bravery, and skill in saving the lives of their fellow soldiers is simply unmatched. The fact that she wears a CMB is proof that she has served as a medic in an infantry unit while under enemy fire. She is a hero.

The Dems are Worried.

Paul Starr in The Washiington Post is worried that the Dems are going to blow it again. Some of what he says makes sense, for instance that it’s unfortunate for them to have the first woman and the first black with a chance of winning running at the same time, but much of it is pure hogwash. Take this about Hillary:

Throughout her career, she has stirred an irrational hatred that is not primarily of her own making. To much of the public, when she is tough, she seems unwomanly and therefore inhuman; when she is soft, she seems unfit to be commander in chief. It’s the old double bind that women have always faced in acquiring power, but wishing it weren’t so won’t make the dilemma vanish.

There is nothing irrational about the hatred she stirs, it’s what happens to greedy, unethical, inhuman people.As for what he calls the double bind a woman is in when seeking power, puhleese. The problem is it’s all a facade, she doesn’t have a genuine bone in her body, the Southern drawl she affected when addressing a Southern church audience is just another example of it. Maggie Thatcher, Golda Meir, Indira Ghandi to name just a few, didn’t have this problem. It’s called being grown up.

Her conclusion is optimistic.

To argue, as Harris seems to do, that children born and bred in superstitious cultures that value fanaticism and create phalanxes of alpha males are doomed — and will doom others — to an existence governed by the law of the jungle is to ignore the lessons of the West’s own past. There have been periods when the West was less than noble, when it engaged in crusades, inquisitions, witch-burnings and genocides. Many of the Westerners who were born into the law of the jungle, with its alpha males and submissive females, have since become acquainted with the culture of reason and have adopted it. They are even — and this should surely relieve Harris of some of his pessimism — willing to die for it, perhaps with the same fanaticism as the jihadists willing to die for their tribe. In short, while this conflict is undeniably a deadly struggle between cultures, it is individuals who will determine the outcome.

I’ve been AWOL again! Lotsa work to do, had to work the last two weekends to get the job ready first for the plumbers and then for the electricians, had a drain problem in the basement there and after it was fixed I had to jump in and lay the concrete where the drain was dug up so they could use it again without delay, now while the electricians do their stuff I have to go do another little job I kinda promised a few weeks ago. Tomorrow I have a day off! But you should see the mess my place is in, hasn’t been cleaned for nearly three weeks, ah well, no rest for the wicked.

I’ve been wanting to post on Fred Thompson who I think would be the best President of the current crop of over ambitious wannabe’s. He seems to be very popular in the blogosphere, on the right side of course.

But Fred Thompson is perhaps the most substantative candidate to run for President in many years. He has taken the time to think about what should be the relationship between the government and the governed. He has framed his thoughts within the context of a set of bedrock conservative principles that animates his thinking and generates sound ideas about where America should be headed.

There is a heft to Thompson, a seriousness of purpose that none of the other candidates can match. It is most pronounced during the debates where Thompson’s answers to questions are more subtle and nuanced than those of his rivals. His sometimes laconic style zings his opponents with brutal accuracy. Often, the candidate will answer a question by stating “Yep” or “Nope” and pause a few seconds to gather his thoughts. What follows is almost always coherent and is informed by years of experience in government.

Now, I don’t think that Fred Thompson is lazy. I just think that, despite the southern drawl, which many (mistakenly, as anyone who has worked with smart NASA employees and contractors in Houston, Huntsville and the Cape would know) think is a mark of a slow mentality, that he works smart, and cheap. Robert Heinlein once wrote that: “Progress is made by lazy men looking for easier ways to do things.”

I believe that.

I don’t want a president, or a presidential candidate, who is frenetically scurrying around, appearing to be doing something, particularly two years before the swearing in. If he’s really a conservative (as he claims to be, though I’m not necessarily), I’m perfectly happy with a president who, when demanded to do something, just stands there. And as a libertarian, opposed to big government, I’m happy to have a president who will think before acting, and who believes that the first instinct should not be to pass yet another federal law.

Now just take yourselves over to Hot Air for a video of Jeri Thompson answering questions. She is more articulate and more direct than any one you’ll find on the Dem side.
I think Fred is still in with a good chance of winning, there’s a long way to go yet. Even Alan Sullivan is starting to take him seriously.

Every week I read Norm’s blogger profile and usually I’ll find myself nodding in agreement with most of the answers given by quite impressive people only to be brought up short by something so obviously not thought through and there goes my high estimation of the person in question. Often it’s to do with some Socialist or Marxist ‘wisdom’ that has or should have been thoroughly discredited by events over the last hundred years, but this week .Linda Grant, answers the question, ‘What do you consider to be the main threat to the future peace and security of the world?’ with, ‘Climate change, duh’. Well, duh to you to. It’s a scam folks, brought to you by the same folks who think the EU, the UN and all the other anti-Anglosphere organisations who want to control us are the future of mankind. She should spend a little time reading the excellent series ‘The Deniers’ published in The National Post.

Words Worth Quoting

Bush’s ignorance about the true nature of Islam has put all of the West in harms way.

Bush makes some very glib, naive (very Western) assumptions that are quite false: “I believe, deep in the soul of every man, woman, and child on the face of this Earth is the desire to live in a free society. And I also believe free societies yield peace. And, therefore, this notion of two states living side by side in peace is based upon the universality of freedom, and if given a chance, the Palestinian people will work for freedom.”

This very commonly held assumption ignores religion and ideology and their power. The Islamic vision is not one of freedom — which is, in a way, actually anathema to religious Muslims. Islam is about submission. (Islam in Arabic means surrender!) And radical Islam is about imposing that submission. Palestinians passionately committed to their Islam and the word of Muhammad are more concerned with driving out the Jews and controlling the land they believe is theirs than with instituting “freedoms.”

To establish policy without this essential understanding is to miss the boat entirely and to generate an unstable situation.

Muslim Apologetics: Putting Lipstick on a Pig

Muslims , understandably, given their predilection for taqiyyah, have a very difficult time speaking truthfully. Especially when their words circle like flies over their dead meat arguments contrived to persuade Westerners that theirs is actually a civilized society, a legitimate religion, indeed, a religion of peace. Every time a Muslim tries to pull off this legerdemain I am reminded of the phrase, “putting lipstick on a pig.” Listen to them try to explain away the quaint islamic practice of stoning in the video above. Maybe they would like to apply some taqiyyah lipstick to this young girl’s lips. She is one of thousands of Christians slaughtered in the name of allah (spit),not to mention all of the Hindus and Buddhists, and secularists that have met similar fates.

But Western journalists (spit) will continue to gather muslims dressed up in western garb around round tables and pretend that stoning, honor killings and sharia suppression can be presented in such a way that you, the truly civilized westerner, can turn away and pretend that the problem with islam doesn’t exist.

And you know what? The same circle of vultures will assemble to discuss why bloggers, and millions of others, should be censored as bigots for simply pointing out what is true. It’s happening now, as we speak.

Canada’s Kangaroo Court.

In Alberta there is a bunch of bastardized bureaucrats known as The Human Rights Commission. They are currently holding hearings on a complaint from some backward Muslims against one Ezra Levant, editor of the now defunct Western Standard magazine that he violated their rights and made them cry when he published the Mohammed Cartoons.

Here is his opening statement to this aforementioned bunch of turnips. It should be in every newspaper and every blog in the land and also on an illuminated billboard in Times Square.

I hate to post just an excerpt but to encourage you to read it all, here is a short passage:

I have read the past few years’ worth of decisions from this commission, and it is clear that it has become a dump for the junk that gets rejected from the real legal system. I read one case where a male hair salon student complained that he was called a “loser” by the girls in the class. The commission actually had a hearing about this. Another case was a kitchen manager with Hepatitis-C, who complained that it was against her rights to be fired. The commission actually agreed with her, and forced the restaurant to pay her $4,900. In other words, the commission is a joke – it’s the Alberta equivalent of a U.S. television pseudo-court like Judge Judy – except that Judge Judy actually was a judge, whereas none of the commission’s panellists are judges, and some aren’t even lawyers. And, unlike the commission, Judge Judy believes in freedom of speech.

It’s bad enough that this sick joke is being wreaked on hair salons and restaurants. But it’s even worse now that the commissions are attacking free speech. That’s my first point: the commissions have leapt out of the small cage they were confined to, and are now attacking our fundamental freedoms. As Alan Borovoy, Canada’s leading civil libertarian, a man who helped form these commissions in the 60’s and 70’s, wrote, in specific reference to our magazine, being a censor is, quote, “hardly the role we had envisioned for human rights commissions. There should be no question of the right to publish the impugned cartoons.” Unquote. Since the commission is so obviously out of control, he said quote “It would be best, therefore, to change the provisions of the Human Rights Act to remove any such ambiguities of interpretation.” Unquote.

This folks is what we’re up against in the west from the multi-culti, wimps otherwise known as lefties.

American Women Deliver Islamists To Their Deaths

It is extremely gratifying to know that Islamists died with the knowledge that an American woman brought then down. Very, very sweet. Put that in your pipe and smoke it MoHAMmad.

As the hailstorm of munitions continued, Dostum grabbed his walkie-talkie, switched to the Taliban’s unsecured frequency and relayed to them the sound of Black’s chatter coming through Army radio.

He used the female pilot’s voice to taunt them as they bled.

Black contacted an incoming gunship sent to finish off the remaining militants with a fresh load of ammo.

In those few hours, Black had become the first female AC-130H navigator to shoot in combat. Six years later, she’s a combat-medal-wearing mother to two sons, ages 6 months and 2 years, and she expects to return to Afghanistan in early 2008. She estimates the total number of human targets eliminated on that first tour at more than 250 enemies.

Burning American flags, thousands of Palestinian protesters took to the Gaza streets this afternoon to protest against the visit of U.S. President George W. Bush. The protesters, amassed by Hamas, brandished banners which defined Bush “assassin and vampire”. During the rally puppets of the American president were raised and then burned. Israeli flags were also burned. Eye witnesses reported at least 20,000 participants in the rally, promoted for several days also through appeals launched in the mosques. “Bush is not welcome,” a Hamas representative repeated from the platform. Members of the extremist movement pointed out that since his arrival at the Ben Gurion airport of Tel Aviv today, President Bush “made sure in his speech encouraging and backing the rights of Israel, without saying a single word on the Palestinian victims and on our rights”. Bush will meet tomorrow in Ramallah in the West Bank Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), who is in open conflict with Hamas, whereas he will not visit the Gaza Strip.

The only change hardworking, honest, genuine Americans ( as opposed to nanny state addicts, welfare pimps and your usual Ameri-phobes on the left) are going to get with Obama is chump change. That is all that will remain to them if socialists gains the presidency.

In order to do my small part in assuring the defeat of Obama and Hillbillary, I will start a series on “Chump “Change” Progressives, delineating all the many ways the Regressives Progressives will reduce your wallet to the thinnest it has ever been. And forget about your grandkids, they’ll be burdened with taxes to support The Church of of Victim-ology for their entire lives.

Speaking of life, pictured here is a once-future citizen that won’t even get to pocket their pittance of chump change. There is no place for these citizens in Obama’s new world of hope and unity.
