It’s No Big Deal, Bro! It’s All for The Greater Good

Sen. Barack Obama said Monday that he doesn’t think it’s a big deal that he borrowed lines from his friend Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, although he probably should have given him credit.

Gee, if only your Soros trained staff had put the words “give Patrick credit” in your mouth on your teleprompter, Obama. Don’t they know yet how much you need a clue a cue, a prompt, an new uplifting phrase…….

Asked whether he wished he would have given him credit given the criticism he’s facing, Obama responded: “I was on the stump, and he had suggested that we use these lines. I thought they were good lines. I’m sure I should have — didn’t this time.”

“I really don’t think this is too big of a deal,” he said.

Nah, respecting another man’s words, attributing sources, who needs to do that in Obama’s new world? After all, the man certainly doesn’t respect the right of rich men to earn and spend their money in the manner that they so choose, or the rights of private Americans to decide where the hell they want to send their charity without any direction from Big Brother.

Why the hell would he respect his buddy Deval’s authorship? It’s all good bro, we’s all one now. You gotta share bro, ya know, for the hood, for the village, for the freaking tribe.

What amazes me more than this is that most of the media is trying to circle the wagons. Most of the people on the internet are either dismissing what Barack Obama did or saying that Clinton or Patrick did it too so it is ok!

But there are a few things wrong with this. The first is that it does not make it right if others are doing it. If it is ok for Barack Obama to plagiarize then it is ok for the student to plagiarize. There should be no need for referencing in journals, blogs, or academics if it really is no big deal.

Second, contrary to what Barack Obama said, Hillary Clinton and Deval Patrick have not taken words from Barack Obama. All Democrats have similar rhetoric and will have similar phrases, but the “Just words” rhetoric Obama said was uncommon, used word for word, and was intentionally taken from another person. Hillary Clinton and Governor Patrick have used key phrases but neither has taken a whole paragraph (as far was we know so far. I am sure everyone is looking).

Third, Senator Obama is refusing to take responsibility for what he did. He should apologize and move on. His failure to apologize is indicative of a flaw in his character. Especially dangerous is how he hardly articulates his stances publicly (at least not vocally) and how it will be more difficult to hold him accountable when you have to search through vote records and written papers to see what the man is actually thinking.

Obama’s generic rhetoric has been made worse by his derivative language. If this is his behavior it shows how much his “change” is actually worth.

I wholehearteldly agree and appreciate your dissection.

I was just reading that it is unlikely that we’ll see too many caricatures of Obama because an emphasis of his features will be construed as racist. It all goes to the media circling the man either because they want him to win or they are afraid of being called a knuckle dragging right winger should they criticize him.

It appears, however, that they all have the same attitude he does. Whatever his inconsistencies, whatever negatives can be accurately laid at his feet, they care no more than he does for the truth. If they did, his campaign would never have gotten off the ground, and neither would Hillary’s.

Like faux photography and Dan Rather’s “false but accurate”, the truth seems to have very little traction these days.
