Sarah Palin For McCain’s VP?

I’ve avoided blogging about McCain. It’s too depressing. In fact, the only way McCain is going to be palatable is if I keep focusing on his socialist opponents.

I might pay a bit more attention to McCain if he chooses a running mate that is, well, unlike him. One name apparently touted about is Sarah Palin, the conservative governor of Alaska. I really do not have much faith in women politicians either but this woman doesn’t sound like an embittered femi-nazi still bitching about glass ceilings.

Yet another national talk-show host seems very pleased with the idea of Sarah Palin becoming our next Vice President. This time, it’s Laura Ingraham. During a discussion of the Veepstakes Monday morning, Miss Ingraham was considerably less than impressed with almost all of the VP possibilities being floated in the media. The notable exception, however, was a certain Governor from the Last Frontier.

Gov. Palin is clearly the only VP candidate who can cement McCain’s support in the conservative base AND make the ticket more appealing to independent voters. Most of the other names being thrown around can only perform one of those tasks, but there is one candidate can do both. Her name is Sarah Palin.

Some of the things that I like about her is she is for development of ANWR, a card carrying member of NRA, a hunter, a fisherman, small business advocate, pro military, and pro-life. (source)

The problem is she is about ready to deliver her fifth child. I can see the liberal feminists sputtering as they try to derail a possible VP run by somehow implying that a woman with an infant couldn’t do the job. Normally, I ‘d agree, but if this woman has accomplished as much as she has in her career while raising four other children, my guess is that motherhood hasn’t been an impediment.

If Laura Ingraham likes her, that’s a big plus for me. About the 5 children, if the liberals throw that, throw Pelosi back at them, she’s a grandmother with quite a number of children.

Then again since Pelosi hasn’t achieved much since the last election, so you might have a point.

This is really weird… running into a Palin for VP post over here.

Via some blog I hardly ever read, I saw a “Draft Sarah Palin for VP” banner tonight. I had no idea who Sarah Palin was, so I did a little research.

Let me make a long story short: If McCain has the wisdom to put Palin on his ticket, he will be a whole lot more palatable to this here independent voter.

The Alaskans are not going to be happy about this, but what a great idea for the rest of the US.

I agree, it would be a damn pleasant surprise, that’s for sure. I never heard of her before either and can’t remember how I stumbled on to her name..

well, could be, on the other hand, that a sizable number would like it. Means jobs and growth. I just wish most Americans would realize the oil companies are not the freaking enemy - the green weenies are the ones….

Sarah Palin, Note to Self…..If we keep living in a world of fantasy – how are we to notice the very real people around us who require our love and who deserve it? The narcissist wants to love. In the rare moments of self-awareness that she has she feels ego-dystonic (unhappy with her circumstances and with her relationships with others).

Your point being what?

Syrin April 29th, 2008 at 4:23 pm

Sarah Palin is a self absorbed incompetent woman. She had no experience or decorum before and continues the embarrassment in a public way. She has created an enviroment of discontent and hate with her childish and vindictive reaction on every issue concerning a stable future of Alaska. there is ‘no confidence in Alaska’ Sarah Palin clearly should Resign! Her family needs her, Alaska does not

Syrin,
This blog is not advocating for Sarah Palin. And even if we were, you have offered nothing to support your claims.

Dave June 2nd, 2008 at 11:36 am

Sarah Palin has a 90% approval rating in Alaska. Obviously, Syrin is in the other 10% and is due his/her opinion.
Personally, I love her fierceness and in-your-face courage. She is formidabe for sure.

Hi Dave,
Fierce and formidable are qualities sadly lacking on the right these days. Alaska is fortunate to have her. 90% approval says a lot.
