Peaceful Muslims Send Death Threats to LiveLeak and Free Speech Suffers Another Blow

This is almost surreal. Live Leak has been forced to take Geert Wilder’s Fitna down due to death threats. Un-freaking -real.LGF reports:

I can’t blame LiveLeak for doing this. They run a company, and they have the safety of employees to consider. But it’s infuriating to see another capitulation to the demands of cowardly thugs from the Dark Ages. The video of ‘Fitna’ has been replaced with an official statement from LiveLeak:

Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain corners of the British media that could directly lead to the harm of some of our staff, Liveleak.com has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers. This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else. We would like to thank the thousands of people, from all backgrounds and religions, who gave us their support. They realised LiveLeak.com is a vehicle for many opinions and not just for the support of one.Perhaps there is still hope that this situation may produce a discussion that could benefit and educate all of us as to how we can accept one anothers culture. We stood for what we believe in, the ability to be heard, but in the end the price was too high.

“…in the end, the price was too high”???

Will that be the West’s freaking epithet?

And we have governments appeasing these caliphate whores?

Here is Fitna from YouTube, for as long as it lasts…

Well …… I think Geert has got his point across. Actually, far more effectively than you may at first imagine. With this movie, Geert has not only shown a reflection of Islams’ tolerance, or lack thereof, but also held up a mirror to his own peers in the political arena, showing them exactly what their appeasement is giving rise to. Now the ball is firmly in their court … what are they going to do …most probably nothing. Just breath a big sigh of relief…and in so doing, another chunk of disgusted individuals wakes up to the degraded state of moral relativism that is the guiding principle of our elected leaders. These scum may end up getting lucky, they may end up getting thrown out of office before getting their throats slit by their new overlords.

I have of late been musing, was this the same state of affairs, the same degraded gutlessness that pervaded those societies as Rome fell to the barbarians, as Islam swept through North Africa and on into Spain all those years ago?

You remind me of the piece you posted at The Midnight Sun (I can’t find the exact link now) that very much intrigued me, describing as it did the character of the Roman, one that eschewed sloth and elevated, seemingly, those human attributes that transcend man’s baser qualities, and Rome’s demise is directly attributable to summoning from men only those base instincts – as the left does now.

I think you even mentioned spiritual entropy which is what I have called it in the past for lack of a better way to put a name to what I am witnessing.. The path of least resistance is what islam and and the leftist ‘isms offer. It is the age old battle and the components of the equation never seem to change. Choose life or choose death. We in the west have chosen death….for now.

As you say ZEE; today, in the West, everything is played towards encouraging and satiating man’s baser instincts; which of course, leaves the path open for those opportunistic parasites to saunter on down the path of self indulgence, which, sadly leads nowhere but the degradation of the self. It is the path to nowhere.

Those creatures, who presume to lead us, are the very epitome of the self indulgent self, their every aspiration is about …”Me, Myself, and I”

I’ve just watched a clip, put out by the dreaded BNP. I believe, taken from the BBC “panorama” program, about Asian Pimping of young girls. The most disgusting part was at the end, where, after being advised that this issue had been around for ten years or more, a government official was busy trying to put a spin on the issue, about how the government were doing everything in their power and were achieving positive results…even the TV interviewer was not buying his bs. In a sane world, that government jobsworth, would be taken out and handed over to the fathers of those girls. Yes I know, we can’t have rough justice you know, it wouldn’t be cricket; well, if things don’t change right quick, they’re liable to get that cricket bat around their lying ears. A piece of absolute moral scum

I would add to the above comment, that I recall an incident about 4 years ago, when the police in, I believe Yorkshire, put pressure on a TV channel, to stop the showing of a program on this very subject, and were successful, all in the name of “community cohesion”. That right there shows it to be a state sanctioned policy, to ignore what was transpiring and act as if nothing was wrong. It is the remit of the police forces “To maintain law and order, to protect the rights of law abiding”. It is their obligation to uphold the law: to ignore that duty, to turn a blind eye to such criminal endeavour, is to go against every reason for the existence of a moral police agency, and so, reduces them to merely acting as agents of the state’s designs, in other words, to be nothing more than state enforcers. New Labour are the architects of this social engineering policy, a Marxist endeavour to break the spirit and soul of decent people for the furtherance of their own ideological ends, all masked as ” social justice” and government compassion; the truth is far simpler…the will to power of amoral scumbags. And, as everywhere before, those ends always end up with the select few, with power and authority, living lives of sumptuous ease and wealth, while everyone else is left to struggle for mere survival.

Those young girls were/ are mere statistics to the overblown ego that is the heart and soul of New Labour and their unctuous sycophants. The mind that is able to dismiss them as cheap sluts, or their parents as failing to raise their children properly, show the true measure of their own moral turpitude, and mark their loud protestations of care and compassion as the plain frauds they really are.

Damn those political elites who have enabled this travesty, damn them to hell.

I am a fool because I always want to know why.

….New Labour are the architects of this social engineering policy, a Marxist endeavour to break the spirit and soul of decent people for the furtherance of their own ideological ends…

    Why?

What is it in a man that would have him choose to design an architecture of destruction? How much power can one have, how much wealth? The world snarls at America’s consumption yet celebrates and pays reverence to the grotesque display of wealth in Dubai. Dubai, where the natives live in poverty and the human sex trade thrives.

I’ve been very depressed by the many articles posted at Aurora’s site describing the absolute debauchery and bestial behavior that is embraced culturally, simultaneous with the wanton murder of babies and defectives.
And technology will soon grant these wizards their precious simulacrum of godhood as they conjure the genetic template that will rid them of humans that they consider unworthy. The serving classes and tradesmen will be eliminated, replaced by grotesque creatures ala Huxley’s Brave New World.

Human conception and reproduction will be eliminated, sex will be purely recreational, and the long elusive perfection that the left breathlessly seeks will produce a race of lesser beings, shorn of soul and will.

It is one thing to sink so low as a human being that you are content to suck off the labors of others. It is another foul thing indeed to purposely destroy all that is good in men and to favor degradation and defilement over the rigors that those Romans you write of daily employed to keep spirit and mind and body supple and untainted.

What is it in men that chooses death?

“I am a fool because I always want to know why”

Hardly zee; the thirst for knowledge, the hunger for understanding, is the call of the human heart, reaching out seeking nourishment for the soul. The cry of humanity seeking the meaning of its creation.

To give a full answer to your question would take a whole book to explain, maybe even a few volumes. In short however, it has to do with the wounded psyche of the individual, the lure and attachment that religious fervor has on the human spirit; and make no mistake, Marxism is as essentially a religious faith as the most adamant Islamist, indeed, the similarities between them and their aspirations is startling, though of course, they would protest most loudly.

Each of us, sooner or later comes to that most fundamental of questions, (well, there are some exceptions, but not nearly as many as one might think). The one where we as individuals ask….”What am I, why am I here, what am I doing, for what purpose”; and the answers that often stare back at us are most stark and revealing, answers we would rather not face, because they reveal a truth about the self that is often unpleasant. It takes a brave soul to stare into the abyss and not flinch. Many find escape in drowning their fears in drugs …. don’t feel bad zee, I did pretty much what you did. But eventually you simply have to stop running from yourself. Probably, like me, you did not initially turn to drugs out of despair, but out of peer pressure or even recreational amusement, but the end was always going to be the same…the endless running, the lost life. For some the answers to their searching are found directly in immersion in religious conviction, for not many have the strength of character to question the self and all its failings, and who knows, maybe those souls are the luckier owns, for they endure less torment, and can find contentment and the love which the human spirit craves for.

The Islamist is a very different kettle of fish, for he is usually born into it, though those who come to that faith, do so for many of the same reasons that hold the faithful to the flock, fear and protection. The life of Islam is bound by rules, it is a comprehensive rulebook for daily life, leaving little to bother the mind, no room for doubt.

The Marxist is generally born in the halls of academia; usually he is a rebel by inclination, a reactionary to the daily drudgery of existence. His mind is ripe for the indoctrination that he must pass through in order to graduate with his desired degree for his efforts in college. There are of course others who are drawn to this perverse faith, by envy, by resentment, by avarice; for Marxism promises to grant to the faithful, a full measure of revenge to quench the thirst of the resentful, the bitter. And to those lucky few, the leaders of the faith, it promises the crown…supreme dominion over their fellow man….the divine right to play GOD, here on earth, the power of life or death, as near to a Roman Emperor as one could possibly get in this age of ours.

Then of course, there is the atheist, actually I suspect most atheists are really agnostics, but for arguments sake, for now they can sail in the same boat. The belief, that there is nothing to believe in frees the rebellious spirit from concerning itself with questions to which there appears no answers, and so free to concern itself with other agendas…like playing with endless formulations of Marxism, (yes I know, that was mean of me, of course, not all atheists are Marxists, but all Marxists are atheists)(hmm…another similarity they have with Islam ;-) )

There is an extreme perversity in human nature, and that is, the desire to lord it over other human beings. For an ordered society it is true, we need order, and order requires control, and control requires rules, and so we set up our civil structures to control the boundaries of behaviors for our societies. This naturally involves granting power and authority to some individuals to assure the rules are kept and maintained by society at large. However, maintaining an ordered society is a bit like herding cats…everyone wishes to go their own direction, hence organized chaos! For some individuals these powers are not enough, for they are not granted the power to compel, which appears to make power more absolute.

The rebellious nature rejects order, and claims to desire pure anarchy, but this claim is false, for the rebel really desires control, control of events, control of outcomes and control of others. The ultimate expression of that would be a Che Guevara or a Fidel, which is why you see such an attraction for that type by the likes of an Oliver Stone, or a Robert Redford, they appeal to the inner rebel, who claims to be different, though in reality is just your average conformist. The fact that Che and Fidel committed some awful atrocities, is an inconsequential detail to minds such as these, and for obvious reasons…to maintain the facade of champions of the oppressed, reality must not be allowed to intrude.

When one considers the supreme miracle of human life, one is left to wonder, just why it is that so much of humanity holds it in such low contempt, until of course, one realizes, it is not our own lives we hold in contempt, but those of others, and being others, they simply have no meaning to us, so we can view them in the abstract, and this removes them from our conscience, so now we are free to exert control over them with no remorse and no concern. Like expressing great concern for people a world away, after some natural tragedy, that concern is a fleeting sentiment expressed more out of an inner desire to show a charitable side to our own self, than any great commitment to the pain others may be enduring. That statement may at first appear harsh, but reflect upon it awhile, our concern for those injured people, lasts no more than a few passing moments. Yes we may send assistance, food, blankets and water, but they are soon largely forgotten. It is not possible for one human spirit a world away from those events to be a part of those events and in so being, experience those events in anything other than the abstract, which of necessity, robs emotion of any real connection to those same people and events, so that emotion becomes a mere reflection of our own fears. Now I am not suggesting we simply ignore tragedies, nor am I condemning any for this, as it is perfectly natural, for the human mind can only truly relate to its own surroundings, expressions of grave concern for distant parties are mere window dressing on the human mind. If not, we would all be missionaries in Africa, administering to the sick and the poor, and being excoriated for our imperialist tendencies by our intellectual betters. Our emotions are fickle things which have a tendency to wander at whim, with no particular place to go, and being unfocused, they are subject to the prevailing idols of our age, so here is just where we become vulnerable to the unscrupulous minds among us.

Some wise person once said “The mantra of the wizard is the lie, and the best lie of all is the one which lays closest to the truth”, a very trenchant observation I might say. Herein lies the power of the sophist, for he takes a simple truth and turns it to his advantage, by simple means of reframing the meaning of events around that truth, and so the unwary are swept in, and before they know it, they have surrendered their own power to the designs of a liar.

But now back to just what it is that drives some spirits to seek dominion over others. For some, it is an escape from themselves in that by being above someone else, they then, as the master have meaning and purpose: for some, obviously there is a sadistic streak to be satisfied, for others, the shear fear factor appeals to their vanity. Some empty souls like to be flattered, no matter that the flatterers be vacuous fools, the adulation is all that counts.

If you wish to see human perversity closer to home, just look at the Hollywood celebrities, look at how many of them adore the spotlight, they positively wallow in it…. why? Well, it grants them adulation, it gives them power of a sorts, for they are given a microphone upon the merest request, to spout off their vacuous opinions…how many of them make much sense, how many of them are about anything original, it is always the flavour of the day. These of course are the extreme narcissists, the exhibitionists. The question here is, why would any rational being accord them any notice … buy we do, and in large numbers it would seem, just going to show what empty lives most of us lead. Now why would any rational sentient being desire any of that? I am not speaking of displaying a natural talent, for we can all enjoy the accomplishments of true artistry; no, I am speaking of the paraded vanity that passes for news in much of the Western world. This may seem like a divergence from our discourse, but it really isn’t, for it is an example of the empty roads down which the human spirit will travel in order to give some meaning to this earthly existence. We desperately need God, for without him we will continue to wander aimlessly until that fateful day when some fool will start the final conflagration, and it all ends in the meaninglessness to which we have been foolishly building the pyre. No, I’m not telling you to get religion, for each person must find their own path, anything else is to follow in the opinions of others…the road to perdition.

To understand why the Western polity is in such a disarray, well, largely speaking, it is the end consequence of Marxist/Leninist subversion by the Russian state. For years, the Russian state financed and encouraged the dissemination of revolutionary politics in Western academia. Post Modernism, Deconstructionism, Socialism, Progressivism , Transnational Progressivism, and to some extent feminism, though this movement did come out of natural progression of Western thought, however, it was subverted to good purpose by the subversive techniques of the established schools of Marxist thought. The depravity, the degraded state of moral rectitude, the debauchery the bestial behavior, is all part and parcel of the subversive agenda, to draw the people away from their from their own roots, to sow the seeds of self loathing, and so despair. The whole purpose of these philosophies was and still is, to sow confusion and dissent, to sow the seeds of division, and so paralyze the Western states in the face of pressing danger. And as we can see, a very effective technique it was too. It is about weakening an opponent in order to be able to move in and take control …again…dominion over your fellow man.

“What is it in a man that would have him choose to design an architecture of destruction? How much power can one have, how much wealth” – Well zee, it is more about satiating the ego, and a soul that is so lost to such a cold impersonal philosophy such as Marxism, is overwhelmed by a sense of self-righteous rage for a world that will not conform to his way of thinking; he will spread destruction, purely for our own benefit of course. He would not be so crude as to admit doing it for his own benefit, it must always be for the benefit of the people, even in his own imaginings, for he must not admit, even to himself, most especially to himself, that what he is doing is not for the betterment of mankind. Righteousness has its standards to be maintained after all. As to how much wealth and power…well, never enough it would seem.

So here we see the essential difference between man and GOD, for man desires to dominate, where GOD, the sole architect of creation, seeks for man to flower and flourish, to seek and find his own true meaning. Here I think, is where we may find our answer as to why the creator does not meddle in the creation, for it would be the easiest thing in the complete cycle, for a GOD to simply declare himself, and by means of absolute power, to intimidate his creation into obeying his every whim, but then what sort of all powerful, loving creator would that be. I for one, cannot imagine an all knowing, all powerful deity, having much time for a bunch of sniveling , craven sycophants, groveling at his feet all the time, would that not make him as empty headed as those vacuous movie stars…I think it would. Nor do I imagine a supreme being, being happy in the proximity of a terrified throng, fearful of each move, lest it offend the LORD. Surely a loving GOD would wish for his own creation to flower, to find itself, to be happy, to love and be loved, after all, is that not what we as loving parents wish for our own progeny, to be free from fear and want, to be prosperous and joyful. We as a people, as individuals, are happiest when we are in the company of others we love and respect, and in return we receive that love and respect returned ten fold, (at least that‘s the idea, doesn‘t always seem to work like that). It is in that respect that our love is found, our humanity flourishes Are we not supposed to be created in the image of our loving GOD?

In our modern age, we are admonished to show respect for the most degraded of virtues, the most amoral of creatures,; this is a perversity of extremes, and we are forced to play along with the charade which makes us complicit in the bold faced lie, and so we may not raise protest, lest we be accused of heresy to the current order, the new idols of our age, and so our voices are silenced, and another victory is granted those who would have dominion over us; all accomplished by playing upon our better nature with a lie that lays close to the truth.

And so to another aspect of the Marxist agenda, the dissolution of the family unit…again…why? Well, if you were an anti god on a crusade of destruction, if you wished to fashion man in your own image, would you not need to destroy all links of the human spirit to its belief in the divine creator, to tear up all the roots so nothing can re-grow. The assault on the institution of marriage that the Western world is currently undergoing, is a direct reflection of the Marxist desire to kill off the faith of the people, and so enable a blank slate with which the monsters seeking control of human events, can write their own design upon. The family unit is a pretty constant throughout human societies through the ages, now we are told that it is old hat, passé, not necessary; well the behaviors of these past generations, where family units are no longer deemed useful, would tell a very different tale; the dysfunctional behavior in the feral youth, born out of these loveless, marriageless unions, stand as loud testament to the failings of the whole concept of Progressive thought…so much for intellectualism

My apologies for drifting so far into religious belief, however, I felt it necessary in order to place the Progressive assault upon the institution of marriage into some sort of meaningful context .

What a feast, good lord! And I am going to respond in two parts -I need to throw up a few posts – one excoriating Condi for her latest barb, but this, this is something I savor, this digging at what underlies all that is unfolding, these amazing events that we see unscrolling before us that are redolent of every apocalyptic vision ever pondered, yet I want no apocalypse, I want to win, to defeat islam and the left, but the will seems to be siphoned out of man, and then, I think, it might be good for this all to end before they eradicate all of humanity from earth and replace them with these tribes of lesser beings…that is what i keep coming back to calling them – lesser beings, a parody of the angels we were designed to soar above…

Probably, like me, you did not initially turn to drugs out of despair, but out of peer pressure or even recreational amusement..

Actually, it was despair. A foolish and cowardly response to my father’s illness and subsequent death from lukemia, leaving me in the hands of an unmedicated bi-polar and manic mother. I have often wondered what path I might have taken had I been born a half century earlier when death was an accepted part of life and my counsel would have cultivation of an inner strength, on facing pain , yet, honoring life.

As you say, “In short however, it has to do with the wounded psyche of the individual”
In the early 1900s society would expect a period of mourning and then would expect you to get on with life. I, in 1968, immediately fell into the hands of shrinks who began a tedious examination of my family wounds, thus directing my focus on darkness instead of giving me the language of hope, fortitude and faith in living. They handed me malaises of the soul to choose from and, Where I only needed healing, they introduced the cloying myopic world of self-analysis and navel gazing.

I reveal that only to factor in my amateur armchair theories of how those who succumbed to drug addictions and the seduction of the sixties were abetted by a language of victimhood, handily supplied by the shrinks, that so permeates our culture now. That the unraveling of human will, of the fabric of stoicism and faith that knit the American heart into such a stout and fierce defender of free will was, thread by thread, removed and then it seemed that all of a sudden, they started holding our hands and the language of confession and neurosis became the fodder of talk shows and Phil Donahue and…well…it is insidious this, what we talk about, this spiritual entropy….

For some the answers to their searching are found directly in immersion in religious conviction, for not many have the strength of character to question the self and all its failings, and who knows, maybe those souls are the luckier owns, for they endure less torment, and can find contentment and the love which the human spirit craves for.

During my hippie days there were folks labeled as Jesus Freaks – hippies/addicts who had switched to Jesus. As addictions go, Jesus is far healthier than heroin, but that misses the point.
I don’t think Christ, as far as I have studied scripture, is about dependency but about humans finding within that which god apparently instilled and judged to be as higher than angels. Jesus may offer some kind of spiritual catalyst but the journey to wholeness is still the task of the individual soul. Drugs, islam and the lefty ‘isms all seek to subvert the individual will which the Christian god seems intent on honoring.
And it always comes down to choice, at least for those of us in the West who have had that luxury. For it is true:

The Islamist is a very different kettle of fish, for he is usually born into it…

Which reminds me of a question I pondered when first learning of the extreme barbarity intrinsic to islam; is there nothing in a human being that isn’t repelled by the poison that they are taught? I realize how easily my psyche was shaped by our culture, how malleable the human mind, and I had options, choices, myriad ways to ponder, dissect and cut a path to new beliefs, to truth. But they haven’t the freedom to go on spiritual quests as we in the west are so fond of doing and whatever repulsion their spirit may feel as a child when submerged in their vile beliefs is probably extinguished.

The life of Islam is bound by rules, it is a comprehensive rulebook for daily life, leaving little to bother the mind, no room for doubt.

Anal-retentive as I inelegantly describe it, a marked feature in some Christian churches, referred to as legalism, the pharisees having practiced it – but, as you say “There is an extreme perversity in human nature, and that is, the desire to lord it over other human beings.”, and Christians are the first to abuse their god’s respect for free will.

And to those lucky few, the leaders of the faith, it promises the crown…supreme dominion over their fellow man….the divine right to play GOD, here on earth, the power of life or death, as near to a Roman Emperor as one could possibly get in this age of ours.

Which is what I often distil this whole damn thing down to. Isn’t that why Lucifer was thrown to earth – because he wished to usurp power from god, to correct god. And thus the lines have ever been drawn; good/evil, life/death…..

The ultimate expression of that would be a Che Guevara or a Fidel, which is why you see such an attraction for that type by the likes of an Oliver Stone, or a Robert Redford, they appeal to the inner rebel, who claims to be different, though in reality is just your average conformist.

Even in the midst of hippiedom I recognized that we overthrew nothing -as that was the mantra – do throw off the shackles of the “Leave It to Beaver” conformity and to be free to claim life was whatever we said it was. Yet, millions of us wore the same clothes, long hair, listened to the same music, read the same garbage and then when Madison Avenue got a hold of it all, our so-called flower power “wild child” brand was mass produced and rock and roll churned out more millionaires than the so called materialistic generation we supposedly were repudiating.

And there was no acceptance or tolerance- the supposed classism that we were tearing down was replaced by another pecking order – the best drugs, the best connections, how deep in the music scene you were and on and on. What amazes me about all so called counter-cultures are that the lines of social demarcation are clearly distinguished – not to be breached – more so than they ever were in American mainstream. Judgmental pronouncements and condemnations for the “other” amongst us “others” was swift and binding, but I digress….

    more to come….

Zee, sorry to hear of your despair, life can unfortunately be very traumatic, and when the only real support of love and family fail, then it can indeed be a hard road.

Zee, I think with this phrase …. “I don’t think Christ, as far as I have studied scripture, is about dependency but about humans finding within that which god apparently instilled and judged to be as higher than angels. Jesus may offer some kind of spiritual catalyst but the journey to wholeness is still the task of the individual soul.” ….. you have captured the essence of Christ’s message to humanity. Any reasonable reading of his ministry, will invariably point to the fact that Christ spoke to us as individuals. His message was to bring from God, a covenant between us and him. At no point was this message addressed to any authority, any specific group of people. It was a message of hope and salvation for humanity.

You are of course right when you say that Christians are among the first to abuse God’s respect for free will.

It is interesting that those characters who recognized that, the very human attribute of “will to power” as a fundamental truth; which they readily set about exploiting by re-framing, were of course the Marxists. Indeed their theoreticians have been busy mining the coal seems of human psychology. But where one must ask, were our religious leaders while all this smoke and mirrors game was going on, well, I’d say, they were wandering off in the opposite direction, blinded by the light of their own self-righteous virtue, too busy to notice, let alone, respond to this serious undermining of faith by faith’s natural hostile enemies. I really do blame the clergy for much of what has happened, not in any sinister manner, but in a total lack of intellectual foresight.

The Christian faith was allowed to atrophy. Even as far back as the 1860s, the established church in England, had written off much of the English public as a bunch of unreachable heathens, and were concentrating much of their efforts proselytizing to the Africans, for church attendance was in decline even then; which to me, says more about what a poor performance they were putting on. Maybe I am being a little unfair to the lay clergy, but the church hierarchy certainly are a justified target, and as that foolish druid, all dressed up with no place to go, playing the role of archbishop so inadvertently displays, things aren’t about to change any time soon.

Yes that stoicism, a gift from those ancient Romans, helped us through all the years of darkness, but sadly has been cast aside by those very forces that have sought to undermine our individual and national confidence. Again it all comes back to things like The Frankfurt School, where much of their work was involved in researching amongst others, the work of Freud. And just what have they produced with it…yes, you guessed it…a society wallowing in the muddy pools of victim theory, and a whining class of dependent souls, lost to all reason or responsibility. You zee, sadly, you experienced the real life drowning of the human spirit when you were placed in the hands of those psychologists all those years ago. Would I be correct in assuming that by your own hard efforts, was how you managed to pull yourself out of it. Much of western psychology stems, or at least, has some roots in the philosophical work of Nietzsche, who, like many other philosophers, got some things right, but many things wrong, but who ended up being highly revered by the intellectuals of his age and the succeeding generation, and so he influenced much of the succeeding narrative. And it was Nietzsche who proudly proclaimed that God was dead. So we can see, that it was the enemies of God who have been most active, while the guardians of the faith have, in most cases, been somewhat slothful in their endeavours, to put it mildly.

My, we are getting quite religious here :)

Though it does go a long way towards explaining the other side, and their latent behaviors.

I so wish my mind were as fleet as my mouth tends to be, but alas, I am falling behind in this conversation, so forgive.
Here is a bit more, with more to come, because, well, I want to. (residual liberalism)

…being others, they simply have no meaning to us, so we can view them in the abstract, and this removes them from our conscience, so now we are free to exert control over them with no remorse and no concern. Like expressing great concern for people a world away, after some natural tragedy, that concern is a fleeting sentiment expressed more out of an inner desire to show a charitable side to our own self, than any great commitment to the pain others may be enduring.

I observed that in myself and it seems generally applicable to all armchair do-gooders. I eventually recognized some constants about all of my various, quickly discarded, impulses towards altruism:
    1. The rubber never met the road – all theory. Application? Let someone else do the work. The fun is in feeling brilliant and almost omniscient.

    2. I loved the human race, but not people.

    3. That my interest was directly related to how any one endeavor made me feeeeeel – not on actual results or objectives met.

In the past I have beenas removed from empathy , so alienated from ” humans” that “they simply have no meaning….” was a very easily justifiable place for me to live. I never attended college but indoctrinated myself, spending endless years pouring over B.F. Skinner, Minninger, Freud, Jung, Taoism… until, ultimately psyche and spirit are dissected into so many interpretations you end up standing back, a bystander in your own life. And the lives around you have no more value and substance than your own – you just assign more value to yours because you can “see” what “they” can’t see.

Illusion, all illusion. But it ends, this questing, this luxury of re-framing,and revising, the freedom to play in many realities. That frivolous and ultimately non-productive behavior goes by the wayside when America becomes amerikka and your human energy, your time, your life is calculated as capital to be spent by the state.

It is one thing to embrace the “poor Africans” metaphorically in dissertations and heated college debates on humanity. It’s an entirely different matter to hold a dirty, sweating, smelly, pus oozing, bleeding broken human to your chest in a dirty hovel, in the dark.

Then every dogma will fail, every textbook analysis will be so much prattle. All the “love” your heart swelled with while singing kumbayah at an Obama rally will evaporate when the “rubber hits the road” and your “service” to humanity is mandatory. When your measure of that dwindling pool of wealth and ease that the elite preach from will be determined by how willing you are to sell your soul and life to the state.

Exactly zee. It is not within the remit of the human consciousness to understand and be part of another’s life. We, each of us struggle to manage and maintain our own existence on any sort of even keel. Consider, when a loved one, a child or grandchild, comes to us with a wounded spirit, due to some rejection or failure, how do you react; you may understand, but though you yourself may feel emotion, it is nothing but the emotion of anguish, of your inability to do anything other than empathize, for you cannot fix their pain, you cannot feel their pain, for you are not part of it, and cannot be a part of it. Now, you may hug them, give them assurances, tell them everything will be OK, and often that will be so …. BUT, the emotional turmoil, the struggle for understanding is theirs and theirs alone; and so it is with those distant, except we expend less emotional energy upon their plight, though we can spend an inordinate amount upon our own vanity, and in so doing, not help but actively and effectively hinder those to whom we direct our attentions. To give anything more than temporary assistance to someone in need, is more often than not, to burden them with false promise, and enslave them to the givers own latent needs and desires….see how much of Africa is lead and governed by pseudo Marxists … now, tell me why Marxism should have any appeal to an African, for it is most certainly alien to his cultural roots, but think a little further, and you can see, it appeals to his desire for control. Who placed that idea that Marxism was the road to their salvation in the African consciousness? Just look at how many monsters that little bit of human charity has produced … good intentions my ass.

In my previous comment, I spoke of Nietzsche, I did not mean to imply that he was some central architect of Marxist theory, more that he was a useful road sign to those Marxist theorists seeking a means with which to breakdown and destroy societies so that they could then move in and assume command … the desire to lord it over others, to have absolute control, to have the power of life or death … to play god. This game has been played so well in Britain, that for the last eleven years, a barely concealed leading body of Marxists have been THE government of the country … and just look at the damage they have done to human society, and national cohesion. “Community cohesion”, don’t make me laugh, more like…”be quiet at the back there”.

By now, any keen observer of political life will be astutely aware of just how false most politicians are, the lust for power, betrays their espoused principles and good intentions on a daily basis. That is, fortunately for us, the unintended consequence of a media, obsessed with its own self-import position in life, for unless they are acquiescent in the suppression of facts and information, (something they do rather regularly it would seem), then by reporting upon the statements, and intentions of each political aspirant, (something which is essential for any candidate in even the most warped of democracies), then reality must intrude upon life and events, exposing the real consequence of those designs and intentions.

Altruism in the hands of the state is not altruism, it is coercion, and cannot be anything other, for the state assumes a dictatorial right to direct the generosity of a collection of individuals, in a direction of its own desire; this is not charity, but theft, for it takes a portion of wealth belonging to the community, and arbitrarily gives it away to another of its own choosing. Being that these are monies which the ruling order have absolute control over, but had no part in actually producing, it takes little consideration upon their part as to the true cost of such transactions….in other words, profligacy with other peoples monies … how magnanimous is that? NO government entity should be in the business of dispensing charity, it simply is not in their remit, or should not be.

Some wise person once said “that those people who actively seek our good offices in order to elevate themselves to positions of power and authority over us, are the very last people whom we should place into such positions”, I think we would do well to ponder on that one awhile.

“Illusion, all illusion. But it ends, this questing, this luxury of re-framing,and revising, the freedom to play in many realities. That frivolous and ultimately non-productive behavior goes by the wayside when America becomes amerikka and your human energy, your time, your life is calculated as capital to be spent by the state.”

Some un remembered politician, in an unguarded moment, once admitted that the cheapest, most replaceable commodity that politicians had to deal with in their daily affairs, was human capital …. says it all right there.

We are on the road to perdition, with no brakes, and a driver who can’t keep his hands upon the wheel.

To add my two cents worth ….

We need a little American stoicism … don’t you think?

It is a real shame that fear of the violence perpetrated by Islamic radicals can cause us to shrink from our principles and the cause past Americans selflessly fought and died for.

There will be little room to wax philosophically in a country called Amerika … unless it is guided by more Marxist or Machiavellian tones.

I certainly do not advocate perpetrating violence against other peoples and cultures. I would certainly be willingly coexist with any culture and indeed, as a long time history buff, former soldier, and a martial artist, have a real and deep appreciation for other cultures and their histories. As a child, I enjoyed stories like Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and Sinbad the Sailor … but there are no heroes like that in todays radical Islamic world!

I cannot and will not, however, accept nor advocate the kind of suicidal pacifism or unwillingness to defend American principles and the American way of life that seems to be so prevalent with the liberal/socialist elitists of today.

Peace at all cost simply leads to slavery, and I will be a slave to no one … including an Islamic Global Caliphate! The American people need to wake up and to understand that we are caught in a situation that realistically amounts to “national self-defense” and those unwilling to defend America from her enemies, both foreign and domestic, do not deserve to be called Americans or to benefit from life in America.

Darren. It is not just American stoicism which we need, it is moral and spiritual fortitude, right throughout the Western world, but we are in disarray, because we are leaderless.

I think it was Plato who said something about, “when intelligent men busy themselves with their own affairs, and neglect their responsibilities to the affairs of the governance of the state, then they will soon find they are ruled by idiots, whom they have allowed into those positions of authority” – that’s the gist of it, though not the exact wording.

Darren, I agree one hundred percent – “those unwilling to defend America from her enemies, both foreign and domestic, do not deserve to be called Americans or to benefit from life in America.”

Our problem stems from extreme inertia at the top, just how do we move it. Until a consensus of opinion coalesces around a movement demanding action, nothing will change. The current prevailing social orders are too comfortably entrenched, and will not be shifted out of power until some major catastrophe, reveals them for their paucity of courage and vision. Americans are really not so very far from Europeans in this current phase of moral, spiritual and national sense of inexactitude. We are a house divided

Our rulers are already slaves, slaves to money, slaves to their current positions of comfort, slaves to their tightly held positions of pacifism, slaves to their Marxist beliefs, garnered when they passed through the halls of academia; for to them, nothing is worth dieing for, just witness their sneers at the current exertions of the men and women in uniform, though many are cautious enough not to be too public with their pronouncements, you can still get the undercurrents in their conversations, and constant second guessing games upon military competency.

Islam has no intention of sharing the sandbox, it never has, nor ever will ….history tells us this. But then, our intellectual betters, have much better things to do with their precious time than read a history book or two, after all, didn’t one of their heroes once say, “all history is bunk”, well, I guess when you’re too busy making money, then yes maybe, but it will come back to bite you in the ass someday, someday soon.

Back to your question Darren, yes we could do with a little bit of American stoicism, we could use a little British stiff upper lip too, and a few others besides.

    Apr 1, 2008

Hello there JAR and good to see you Darren,

The whole purpose of these philosophies was and still is, to sow confusion and dissent, to sow the seeds of division, and so paralyze the Western states in the face of pressing danger. And as we can see, a very effective technique it was too. It is about weakening an opponent in order to be able to move in and take control …again…dominion over your fellow man.

And I wonder what might have protected us that we might not have been so easily subverted. Were there no guardians at the gate or does democracy as we have practiced it open the door for the dissolution of society because it gives us permission to vote in our own greed?

But it as if we, or America, were some naive waif who did not recognize the wolf amongst us. But since the wolf is an old wolf and his tools of destruction are well known, did not the founding father’s foresee this ultimate subversion?

And why were we not deluging the third world with our propaganda or seeding their damn textbooks…somehow? It is all so frustrating to realize the fat clown Kruschev from my childhood had it right all along, declaring something to the effect that we would slit our own throats.

I have said again and again that the Christian God makes so much damn sense whereas allah is a god that seems to embody all that is foul and ugly in men. It gives men predisposed to darkness license and I fear many empty, de-balled western men will succumb to the license to be cruel that islam grants. When I first started reading about Islam I finally recognized how superior Judeo-Christian teachings are. It is quite simply the difference between darkness and light. How much easier are god’s simple 10 commandments than the copious, endless rules and regs that the left and islam try to control humanity with.

But over all these centuries, man did not have today’s tech in which to help him eviscerate so thoroughly the human spirit. Debased behavior is available to peruse or participate in 24/7. Genetic engineering, cloning, intrusive cognitive sciences capable of rearranging all but your soul… It is almost like a 21st century Tower of babel, stupid, stupid men still falling for the same lie… that they might yet, be gods.

Self-hatred is so pervasive, and I keenly recognize it, having been ensnared in the same trap. If it had not been for my children, I fear my heart would have stayed on the dark side for the duration. It is so much easier to swagger in the imagined power that type of hatred imbues.

But with the dismantling of the family and the reduction of infants into so much disposable flesh, followed by the surviving babies’ early indoctrination into soulless, genderless sexual objects – the men and women who will finally emerge will be brigades of emptied husks, mere shadows of their original divine design. Islam translates human anger into perpetual loathing and the left turns the human heart to debauchery and yet, we discard the Christian god – the only one whose hand upon a civilization has proven to be absolutely beneficent.

So, no need to apologize “for drifting so far into religious belief…” as it is proving to be a better map of the territory – but I don’t think you mean to speak of religion , but of the spirit, because you haven’t used the jargon of Christianity but spoke of the realities of the human heart, the juxtaposition of divine and flesh of which we are all so intricately weaved. And god is that, he is the movement of life, not the prison of words.

I made the mistake of judging god when I had all I could stand from “the body of Christ” and walked away. But I always said I would keep one portal open to listen for him. Just him. Not god as spoken through men. Not a holy spirit anchored with the weight of human paradigm. But I figured if god is the force I imagine him to be than I shall know his presence and will need no preacher to instruct me.

I will never trust the word of god from the mouths of men again.

“I will never trust the word of god from the mouths of men again.”

A wise decision zee, man has a very nasty tendency to subvert God’s word for his own advantage. What was that commandment ….”Do not take the Lord thy God’s name in vain”, I think there have been an awful lot of arrogant fools that have misunderstood that one.

The mere mention of the word “GOD”, has a marked tendency to turn many minds off unfortunately, but you are right zee, I do speak of the human heart, of the very spirit of man. I believe that it is time that we turn our face to the original message, in all its simplicity. I also think that Islam’s assault upon our world is going to do just that, as we see our so called intellectual superiors flounder in the mire of their own creation.

Yes zee, God will make his heart known to you, though you hear no words, see no signs.

“It is almost like a 21st century Tower of babel, stupid, stupid men still falling for the same lie… that they might yet, be gods.”

There is nothing like about it zee, it really just is. Man has set about killing his creator so that he may take over creation and become like a god, but like in biblical times, I think all his grand designs are going to be thwarted, painfully so too.

Somewhere in the bible, I don’t know where; it speaks of God sending a ‘powerful delusion’ to veil the minds of men, and so they will fall into wikidness and despair, into debauchery and licentiousness, who can deny what we are witnessing today. I would not want to be one of those wealthy power brokers, those titans of political brokerage, who deem that mere mortals are their personal playthings, to be destroyed or discarded at will, for though they feel they have inherited the earth; the hell they have bought upon themselves will soon be found here upon this earth as much as in any other possible plain.

I do admit, that I sometimes tend to view the divine as an entity not having an intense interest in our daily affairs, more a quiet resolution to stand afar and see what his creation may make of itself…it is up to us. To put this in some perspective …On a cloudless night, go outside, empty your mind, then cast your gaze towards the heavens; contemplate the vista laid out before your eyes, the vastness of space, the unfathomable distances, the fact that what you are witnessing is often ancient views of thinks long past, by magnitudes too hard to comprehend. Understand that there is a magnificent order to the cosmos…this is no mere happenstance. Now consider…the musings of your mind, are as relevant and meaningless to this magnificent creation, as the chemical neurons, firing in the head of those ants running beneath your feet as you ponder. We are insignificant, and those little ants are showing us just how insignificant we are in the grand scheme of the universe, for we no more affect its outcomes as they do.

We have had now, slightly over one hundred years of this fowl Marxist blood cult, maybe God will use fear to drive home the point that those who sacrifice the blood of innocence in order to anoint their own vain egos, are the very last individuals who should be accorded any respect or consideration, that we would be wise to cast them out, and seek and find ourselves again.

As to why we were so easily subverted, well, we were too busy having a good time, too self-indulgent of our own whims to see the rocky shoals ahead, too self-absorbed to paid heed to those voices which plaintively wailed from the sidelines that we were running off course. Or just too busy making money to even care, after all, our intellectual betters assured us God was dead.

JAR One little quibble, I don’t believe we are insignificant, our brain and our minds that can contemplate the as far as we know dead universe out there might just be the most significant thing to develop [I'll avoid the word evolve though that's what I really mean] in the whole of that same universe. That doesn’t necessarily bring hubris, it can bring humility viewed in the right way. As George Steiner put it, ‘The purpose of the universe is Mozart’.

PS. In the event you don’t know and love the music of Mozart and what he achieved, you won’t get that. [I assume that you do]

Another little anecdote, forget who said this one. If Bach is the music of man ascending to God, Mozart is the music of God descending to man.

Another slightly amusing one. If Bach sits on God’s left hand and Beethoven on his right, Mozart sits in his lap.

‘The purpose of the universe is Mozart’.

Man inspired can certainly touch the divine, even lesser mortals can move our spirit. While you may be inspired by a Mozart, I may be by a Michelangelo. This however, does not invalidate my point, that we as a collective species are prone to musings of endless pretension, with often very serious deleterious consequences. The truly inspired among us are a blessing, but also more a rarity sadly.

Are we the greatest form of consciousness to have developed so far, none of us have anyway of knowing, so it becomes a somewhat meaningless proposition, we simply have nothing to measure it against. We are certainly capable of great flights of artistic endeavor, but more often prone to great depths of depravity and cold cruelty, while a great majority wallows in a constant state of meaningless despair. yes that does appear a very negative view, so in order to turn such dour sentiment away, here is a little something to cheer you up, a little piece of inspiration …. Soaring orchestral pieces may be what set your soul alight, for me it is the sound of an acoustic guitar in the hands of a maestro; folk, classical, flamenco, any style played with a reasonable degree of competence, tends to move my spirit, I guess you could say…I’d moved on from the rock godz…so a step in the right direction eh! ;-)

The American people need to wake up and to understand that we are caught in a situation that realistically amounts to “national self-defense” and those unwilling to defend America from her enemies, both foreign and domestic, do not deserve to be called Americans or to benefit from life in America.

The awakened ones need somehow to break through the media obfuscation. It is seemingly calculated. In fact, you may have seen Right Truth’s essay featuring
    Moshe Feiglin, whom I quote:

America is too busy deceiving itself. Not only the politicians, but everyone in the population. An interesting phenomena I noticed was the self-imposed censorship of the American media. I sat and watched as the drama unfolded live on television. In the first hour, there were live broadcasts from Ramallah and Shechem, in which the “Palestinian” masses could be seen rejoicing over the massacre in Manhattan. I was pleased to see the pictures broadcast for all to see. Suddenly the reports ceased as if they had never happened. After the first hour, I didn’t see them again. I don’t believe that the American administration contacted the media networks and told them what to screen. This happened naturally: don’t show the American people a reality that conflicts with its fundamental values. “We shall preserve the American way of life and win” was the message.

There was no longer any footage from Ramallah or from anywhere else. Instead, there began to appear an endless stream of interviews with American professors having Arab names and speaking with Arabic accents. The message was this: here is an professor called Ahmed, who is a Moslem, but who is also an American.

“I vehemently condemn this attack,” said a professor, “You have to realize that the majority of Arabs are not like these despicable terrorists. Most of them think like I do, but,” added the professor in a knowledgeable manner, “when you aid the Israeli occupation of Palestine, you cause more Arabs to be on the side of the terrorists rather than on my side”.

Hence Israel is out of the coalition. Even the crack rescue unit from Israel that was ready to come and help was courteously sent back to its base. Israel is the mistress that must be hidden, while Arafat, the king of terrorism, is the legitimate wife, who is courted. It’s actually better this way, since at the end of the day America is not truly Israel´s ally – but we´ll leave that issue for another time

It is a perverse and seeming willing blindness exercised by the media around the globe and I have no idea how one overcomes it.

I just had a comment on a post from a “reporter” whose article dismissing the notion of Islam’s caliphate ambitions aroused my ire. His is a perfect example of this lockstep defense of islam. More so, his actual piece is telling in how he infuses Islam’s concept of caliphate with a progressive new world flavor recalling the sophistry of Tariq Rmamadan.

What was that commandment ….”Do not take the Lord thy God’s name in vain”, I think there have been an awful lot of arrogant fools that have misunderstood that one.

That is an interesting take. There is more damage done in what is being preached than by uttering a curse.

I was amazed at this quote from HG Wells at Midnight Sun, perfectly illustrating your remark.

He writes that the elite cannot go on giving the gifts of freedom, wealth and prosperity to the world if “…all our gifts to you are to be swamped by an indiscriminate torrent of progeny.” He continues, “…we cannot make the social life and the world-peace we are determined to make, with the ill-bred, ill-trained swarms of inferior citizens that you inflict upon us.”

We are insignificant, and those little ants are showing us just how insignificant we are in the grand scheme of the universe, for we no more affect its outcomes as they do.

But then I ponder how we measure insignificance. I can only conceptualize as a human. There is a scripture somewhere that says a liar is as much a sinner as a murderer, and another that says god is more pleased with the meager offering of a poor man than the grandiose largesse of the rich man. As it is said, we can not know the mind of god.

Measured as one frail element in a “grand scheme”, we are indeed insignificant. Put perhaps from god’s measure of things, a human in harmony with his divinity may be far more significant than we can conceive.

The good Mr Gatto falls into either one of two camps, the first being those simply governed by a fear too intense to be faced, with the inevitable recourse to obfuscate, or the second, a staunch advocate of the Transnational Progressive Order, determined not to allow any incidentals to derail the grand plan … well, has Islam got news for him.

“Measured as one frail element in a “grand scheme”, we are indeed insignificant. Put perhaps from god’s measure of things, a human in harmony with his divinity may be far more significant than we can conceive.”

Two points here, first, I think both you and ligneus1 have somewhat misunderstood my intent here; for our intellectual musings, as they relate to our actions and behaviors, are nothing short of the accumulations of the deleterious disasters that have continued to afflict mankind throughout the ages. Yes we are capable of great charity, wonderful achievements due to our understanding of some sciences, but on the aggregate, we are a sorry lot. Consider the story of the past 5 millennium, just how precious and rare has true freedom for the mass of humanity been . We in the Western world appear oblivious to just how brief that flash in the pan has been, and so we are likely to loose it all, because we don’t care enough to even try and understand it; after all, it was there when we were born, its forever right! And then secondly, while I still believe a creator would take a hands off approach, I also agree with you zee, where you say ” a human in harmony with his divinity may be far more significant than we can conceive.” for I highly doubt a consciousness capable of creation would concern itself with trinkets and baubles, gold and shiny stones, after all, they’re probably a dime a dozen scattered across the cosmos.

No, our insignificance is the product of our most pious pretensions, and nothing to do with whether or not we are God’s own creation or a random accident of happenstance.
