Muslims Killing Their Daughters… Again

Rand Abdel-Qader confided to her closest friend Zeinab that she fell in love the moment she saw the young soldier at the charity for displaced families, and she dreamed of a future with him. On March 16 – two months after Rand last saw Paul – her father Abdel-Qader Ali heard from a friend that his daughter had been seen speaking to the soldier at the charity project. Recalling Rand’s murder, her weeping mother Leila Hussein said: “I screamed and called out for her two brothers so they could get their father away. But when he told them the reason, instead of saving her they helped him end her life.”

Abdel-Qader Ali stood on the girl’s throat until she suffocated and then stabbed her, all the time shouting that his honour was being cleansed. He was arrested and released within two hours. Sergeant Ali Jabbar of Basra police said: “The father has very good contacts in the Basra government.” Because her family considered her impure, Rand was given only a simple burial. Her uncles spat in her grave to show their disgust. Two weeks later her mother demanded a divorce from Ali, and she now campaigns against honour killings.(emphasis mine)

Zee, that’s an incredibly tragic story and made all the more tragic by the fact that this scenario is replayed again and again, and has been for centuries.
How many beautiful young girls, exploited for their bodies from childhood by their ugly, grizzled fathers, enslaved, and falling in love on the threshhold of experiencing freedom are murdered like animals by their monstrous parents?
What a great evil that exists on this planet.

The image of partial birth abortion flashed through my mind when reading that. Be it a western woman on her third abortion for the sake of convenience in pursuit of pleasure, or an islamic man cutting down his child’s life for the sake of “honor”…holding life cheaply is ultimately suicidal for any people or nation. The West fast approaches the barbarity of islam. How else will they dispose of the rest of us?

I think this is a terrible representation of this religion. I have studied Islam in detail just to find out about honor killings and treatment of women. These honor killings are culturally based and are not part of the religion. It is strictly forbidden to carry out such actions, and those that do will suffer severe consequences in the “hereafter” – referring to the after-life concept.

I think its necessary for people to make the correct distinction between religion and culture/cultural customs. Otherwise, many people can be mislead. Freedom of speech is the most powerful force on this planet, hence it should be exercised with a great deal and sense of responsibility.

There is no place in the civilized world for those who practice it. And there is no pardon for liars like you who seek to defend it.

Ohmy. That is absolutely horrible.

I don’t think these acts should be attributed to the Islam culture/religion alone though–there are many stories of similar injustices and horrible atrocities done in other cultures/religions, but it’s not as known.

Anyway, I digress. Point is, whatever religion, race or person you are—these things are inhuman. These things should stop.
