We know who you’re talking about, Barack Obama, when you talk about Pennsylvania and the Midwest, about small towns where the jobs have left. We know who you’re talking about when you talk about those who “get bitter” and “cling to guns or religion.”

You’re talking about “those people.”

You’re talking about white people who have neither the family connections nor the racial credentials to gain entrance to the world that you inhabit. Many of the people you’re talking about are those whose parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were immigrants from Central and Eastern Europe who came to these places to work in steel mills, coal mines, and factories. We know the code words.

…five days short of the second anniversary of the Madrid bombings, the Zapatero government, which had already legalized marriage between and adoption by same-sex partners and sought to restrict religious education in Spanish schools, announced that the words “father” and “mother” would no longer appear on Spanish birth certificates. Rather, according to the government’s official bulletin, “the expression ‘father’ will be replaced by ‘Progenitor A,’ and ‘mother’ will be replaced by ‘Progenitor B.’”

As the chief of the National Civil Registry explained to the Madrid daily ABC, the change would simply bring Spain’s birth certificates into line with Spain’s legislation on marriage and adoption. More acutely, the Irish commentator David Quinn saw in the new regulations “the withdrawal of the state’s recognition of the role of mothers and fathers and the extinction of biology and nature.”

At first blush, the Madrid bombings and the Newspeak of “Progenitor A” and “Progenitor B” might seem connected only by the vagaries of electoral politics: the bombings, aggravating public opinion against a conservative government, led to the installation of a leftist prime minister, who then proceeded to do many of the things that aggressively secularizing governments in Spain have tried to do in the past. In fact, however, the nexus is more complex than that. For the events of the past two years in Spain are a microcosm of the two interrelated culture wars that beset Western Europe today.

The first of these wars—let us, following the example of Spain’s birth certificates, call it “Culture War A”—is a sharper form of the red state/blue state divide in America: a war between the postmodern forces of moral relativism and the defenders of traditional moral conviction. The second—“Culture War B”—is the struggle to define the nature of civil society, the meaning of tolerance and pluralism, and the limits of multiculturalism in an aging Europe whose below-replacement-level fertility rates have opened the door to rapidly growing and assertive Muslim populations.

The aggressors in Culture War A are radical secularists, motivated by what the legal scholar Joseph Weiler has dubbed “Christophobia.”1 They aim to eliminate the vestiges of Europe’s Judeo-Christian culture from a post-Christian European Union by demanding same-sex marriage in the name of equality, by restricting free speech in the name of civility, and by abrogating core aspects of religious freedom in the name of tolerance. The aggressors in Culture War B are radical and jihadist Muslims who detest the West, who are determined to impose Islamic taboos on Western societies by violent protest and other forms of coercion if necessary, and who see such operations as the first stage toward the Islamification of Europe—or, in the case of what they often refer to as al-Andalus, the restoration of the right order of things, temporarily reversed in 1492 by Ferdinand and Isabella.

The question Europe must face, but which much of Europe seems reluctant to face, is whether the aggressors in Culture War A have not made it exceptionally difficult for the forces of true tolerance and authentic civil society to prevail in Culture War B.

Before I came over here I thought we (the Australian Army) were pretty…hot….. was I ever wrong!….The Yanks (I hope you don’t mind me using that word) are so professional from the top to the bottom that it is almost embarrassing to be in their company, and to call yourself a soldier….don’t get me wrong, we are good at what we do but the Yanks are so much better…..they are complete at what they do, how they do it and their attitude is awesome….they don’t complain they just get on with the job and they do it right…..I carry a Minimi (SAW) so I am not real worried about a confrontation but I tell you I feel safer just knowing that the US Army is close by….If we got into trouble I know that our boys would come running and we could deal with it but they would probably be passed by a load of Hummers. No questions asked, no glory sought, the Americans would just fight with us and for us because that is their nature, to protect those in need of protection…..We use the American Mess so you could say that we are fed by the Americans…..they have every right to be pissed at that but they don’t bitch about that they just make us feel as welcome as possible….what gets to me is that the Yanks don’t walk around with a “we are better than you attitude” and they could because they are, they treat us as equals and as brothers in arms. If nothing else, coming here has taught me that the Americans are a truly great Nation and a truly great bunch of people…..Let’s face it they don’t HAVE to be here, they could stay in America and beat the shit out of anyone who threatened them, BUT THEY ARE HERE because they believe they should be here, and the Iraqis would be screwed if they weren’t here…..When I come home, you and I we are going to the US, we will buy some bikes and we are going riding….

So the question arises, why isn’t this sort of thing on the front pages of the various US newspapers? Silly question to ask I suppose.

Among the You Tube videos that my grand daughter Katy likes to watch are those of Betty Boop. I’d always thought without knowing anything about BB that they were silly little things for the old time children’s Saturday Matinees at the local cinema. [Anyone remember those when there was such a racket going on from the kids that you couldn't hear a thing from the movies being shown?]
So anyway, watching some of BB with her I discovered that they are actually pretty good. This one of Snow White is funny, very inventive and Cab Calloway singing Saint James Infirmary Blues is quite fabulous.

In case Congress missed the news, four U.S. airlines have gone broke during this month alone. Frontier declared bankruptcy, but will continue flying. Even worse, Aloha, ATA, and Skybus blamed unaffordable fuel as they grounded their jets. Aloha said sayonara to 1,900 employees, NBC News reports. ATA’s demise destroyed 2,200 jobs, while Skybus sacked 450 workers, atop the 80,000 positions lost across the economy as unemployment spiked from 4.8 percent in February to 5.1 in March.

The facts about capital gains rates and revenues are well known to our readers, but we’ll repeat them as a public service to the Obama campaign. As the nearby chart shows, when the tax rate has risen over the past half century, capital gains realizations have fallen and along with them tax revenue. The most recent such episode was in the early 1990s, when Mr. Obama was old enough to be paying attention. That’s one reason Jack Kennedy proposed cutting the capital gains rate. And it’s one reason Bill Clinton went along with a rate cut to 20% from 28% in 1997.

Either the young Illinois Senator is ignorant of this revenue data, or he doesn’t really care because he’s a true income redistributionist who prefers high tax rates as a matter of ideological dogma regardless of the revenue consequences. Neither one is a recommendation for President.

Congress has succeeded in making the student loan business less profitable. It did not think about the consequences of this, of course, but it should now see–if there is any wit on Capitol Hill–that when you make a business less profitable via government fiat, you decrease the incentives for that business to continue in its previous robust fashion–if at all.

Et voilà, that is precisely what we are seeing. Student loan lenders can’t make as much of a profit thanks to the caps on the interest rates they charge. As a result–especially given the current credit crunch–they are scaling back their activities or cutting out of the student loan business altogether. And this only serves to harm students. SAN DIEGO—It seems solar energy takes more green.

The San Diego Unified School District has suspended its solar energy efforts because power bills soared after the green initiative.

The district says it’s paying up to $20,000 a year more on electricity after installing solar energy systems at 28 schools. Plans for solar installations at 22 other schools have now been put on hold.

School district energy management coordinator J. William Naish says spiking energy bills are the result of how San Diego Gas and Electric calculates charges to large power users.

Naish says it’s almost like the district is being penalized for going solar.

The formula used to calculate electricity rates in California is expected to change next month. Naish says he wants to see a few bills under the new rate system before reviving solar energy use.

Can Obama Even Spell Capitalism?

This is more than just a failure to understand the Laffer curve. It’s another cultural misstep by Obama. I can’t help but wonder if the senator knows any cops or firemen. His appeal is to well-educated latte liberals. That remark about middle-income folks having turned to God, faith, and guns because of economic setbacks? Not only was it ill-advised, it illustrates the wide cultural chasm that exists between the candidate and the rest of America.

In effect, Obama’s economics are bad and his social circle is very limited. This is one of the many reasons why a quarter of the Hillary Democrats are telling pollsters they’ll likely move to John McCain in the general election.

Obama’s real agenda is far-liberal left. It’s an ideology that places income redistribution above economic growth. That’s his real message. And it’s the same one that sunk Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore, and Kerry. Bill Clinton? He was a growth Democrat. So he won twice. But Obama is aligning himself with the Democratic losers. And that will make him a loser as well.

The many points where Islam and other totalitarians systems are in agreement are painfully obvious when one compares their respective goals and strategies.

Back in 2003 I posted on Dr. Anis Shorrosh’s Twenty-Year Plan: Islam Targets America, challenging readers to find examples in the US that stand as credible evidence that many of the strategies and objectives listed are becoming a reality.

Well, here is another challenge. Reproduced below the fold you will find the goals of communism in America from Cleon Skousen’s “The Naked Communist”, entered into the Congressional Record in 1963. See how many objectives on the list have either already been achieved, or will be should Obama or Hillary get in.

I say that Barrack Hussein Obama is what “…happens in America when government veers from its constitutionally granted powers, and decides it can “redistribute.” Reading the long term goals of communism in America is to understand that candidates like Barrack Hussein Obama or Hillary Clinton have been long in the making and a long time coming.

And so has Islam. The activist templates that are commonly employed in the implementation of this communist manifesto are those that “progressives” have long employed and those that CAIR and other Islamic front groups have adapted to their own purposes with great skill. Both agendas have the demise of America and the enslavement of her citizens as their ultimate objective.

Go ahead and read both the islamic and communist game plans, if you have the time, and start matching the various points and strategies with the ample evidence that we are witness to today testifying to the realization of many of those goals. After that, consider just what Barack Hussein Obama – a man who has overwhelming muslim support (as well as muslim kin), terrorist endorsements, radical left associations – a man rooted deeply in the theology of victinhood and oppression – ask yourself what exactly does he mean when he speaks of change.

If either Hillary or Obama are elected, no one can honestly say that we haven’t been warned.

Nicolas Sarkozy himself called muslims, thugs, during their islamic Intefada in Paris and other French cities, and his tough stand boosted his popularity, and contributed to his election.

It is also worth noting that the French Minister of Justice, Rachida Dati, is a muslim.

Bardot has previously said France is being invaded by sheep-slaughtering Muslims and published a book attacking immigrants and the unemployed, in which she also lamented the “Islamisation of France”.

Censorship comes riding in on many a dark horse. Other horses steal in bearing very powerful men, men who have deemed themselves guardians of the media gate, deciding what the masses are permitted to see and read and think. Men intent upon shaping the world according to their suffocating utopian vision. Men apparently so frightened of American power and exceptionalism that they are willing to spill treasure, perpetrate treason, and deploy millions solely to eradicate it. Obama supporter George Soros is singing in Jeremiah Wright’s choir.

If the Warmans of the world are noisome mosquitoes sucking at the blood of freedom, gluttonous men like George Soros are the cannibals gorging wholesale on the flesh, smirking lips dripping with the blood of their gore while their leftist minions wince and whine about Rupert Murdoch and the oh-so radical right wing.

Not too many commentators seem to have noticed that George Soros is slowly but surely becoming the mainstream media that is the focus of the analysis we do at NewsBusters. The liberal billionaire-turned-philanthropist has been buying up media properties for years in order to drive home his message to the American public that they are too materialistic, too wasteful, too selfish, and too stupid to decide for themselves how to run their own lives.

As Capital Research Center (my employer) reported in a recent paper, three years ago Soros acquired 2.6 million shares of the huge diversified media company Time Warner. In 2006 his companies, Soros Strategic Partners and Dune Capital Management, paid $900 million to buy the DreamWorks SKG film library from Viacom, a move that gave Soros the DVD and rebroadcasting rights to films such as Saving Private Ryan (1998), Gladiator (2000), and American Beauty (1999). As James Hirsen noted, the transaction gives Soros “some highly desirable film rights at a time when the marketing and distribution model is changing to video on demand, video iPods and other forms of digital distribution.” But more importantly, it gives Soros “a presence in Hollywood where likeminded libs are ready, willing and able to collaborate in cinematic social engineering.” Soros is also a funder, whether directly or indirectly, of Media Matters for America, the reflexively liberal noise machine and pretended media watchdog whose modus operandi is to mau-mau the media into mouthing the politically correct platitudes that pass for profound insights on the far left.

Soros is also venturing into media overseas. Earlier this year Soros Fund Management plunked down $100 million for 3% of India’s Reliance Entertainment, a $3 billion conglomerate that aims to provide Internet-based TV programs in India. Reliance also churns out movies and owns movie houses, radio stations and social networking websites in the country with one of the fastest growing economies in the world. When in the 1980s Soros set up offices in Eastern Europe for his philanthropy, the Open Society Institute (OSI), he helped to finance publishers, independent TV and radio outlets, and political parties.

Soros has long been a player in Hollywood. As Rondi Adamson reported in “George Soros, Movie Mogul: ‘Social Justice’ Cinema and the Sundance Institute,” (Foundation Watch, March 2008), OSI has been underwriting “social justice” documentaries since 1996, and in 2001 Soros let actor-director Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute take over his Soros Documentary Fund (since rechristened the Soros/Sundance Documentary Fund).

George Soros is a man who has invested heavily into destroying America and Barack Hussein Obama has been his boy for a long time. But then Obama, as evidenced by his array of sordid supporters, mentors and “spiritual” advisors, is a good match for Soros; man of guile, an egomaniacal manipulator, and a self-loathing Jew who was happy to profit from his people’s slaughter. Yup, there certainly are a good many Jew haters in Obama’s crowd.

I felt that this old interview with Soros that I found via Right Wing News is worth posting. Another piece of the puzzle that, as it becomes complete, gives us the true nature of America’s own dime store jesus, Obama.

George Soros: Right. I was 14 years old. And I would say that that’s when my character was made…

Steve Kroft: …My understanding is that you went out with this protector of yours who swore that you were his adopted godson.

But there was no sense that I shouldn’t be there, because that was-well, actually, in a funny way, it’s just like in markets- that if I weren’t there- of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would-would-would be taking it away anyhow. And it was the-whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the-I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.

If Obama is presented with the opportunity to destroy America, Soros will have found his monies well invested, and trust me, neither man will feel a twinge of guilt.

The online science magazine Tomorrow’s Discoveries, which specializes in breaking major science news before it actually happens, reports the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium ( Gv), has one neutron, 29 assistant neutrons, some 100 deputy neutrons, and 222 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 352.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second to take from four days to four years to complete.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of four or five years; It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the various “flavours” of neutrons exchange places amongst themselves. In fact, Governmentium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes Superscale Civilservicium, an elusive element that radiates just as much negative energy as Governmentium, having fewer peons but twice as many morons.

Turkey: President Gül expressed concern about the proposal to revise Article 301, as he worries the presidential palace will be obliged to carry out duties of an ‘additional judicial court’.The government’s proposal to revise Article 301 of the penal code that would bestow authority to launch proceedings under the controversial article to the president has stirred up tension in the presidential palace.

The proposal requires presidential approval for prosecution under Article 301 that penalizes denigrating Turkish identity or insulting the country’s institutions, as well as Article 305 that penalizes insults against national interests, after the indictment to be prepared by the chief public prosecutor.

President Abdullah Gül has expressed concern about the proposal, saying he is worried that the presidential palace will be obliged to carry out duties of an additional judicial court, daily Radikal said yesterday.

Justice Minister Mehmet Ali Şahin, however, denied reports in an interview with the private Kanal 24. “The president did not oppose the proposal when he was informed of the draft amendment,” he said yesterday. (…)
