A Grown Up Academic!

I’ll never rubbish Academia in general again. At Michigan State and engineering Prof named Andrek Wichman on hearing that the Muslim student association was planning a protest against the Danish cartoons, sent them the following e-mail.

Dear Moslem Association,

As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest. I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey ), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called “whores” in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France.

This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile “protests. If you do not like the values of the West - see the 1st Amendment - you are free to leave.

I hope for God’s sake that most of you choose that option.

Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.

Well God bless him and God help him now. I surely hope he is tenured - they will be out to destroy him now. This will be worth following. I hope there are more like him.

Same here Zee, i wouldn’t rubbish all of them but a lot of them deserve it. They are responsible for a lot of the PC-Crap that’s shoved down our throats and for the consequences of their ideology that we have to live with.

Yeah, it’s a shame our side doesn’t have re-education camps. I can think of a few lessons I’d love to teach these social engineering tools.

The problem we on the right have is that we are busy getting on with out lives and aren’t into interfering with how others live which is the very raison d’être of the left.

That’s a really rational, well-worded, incontestably logical letter. The good professor has left them little to say in response, which will, no doubt, make them more furious than ever. I really like his admonition to go and clean up their ancestral lands rather than tearing down ours.

HannahJ, I agree, they’re right to choose the real world, they’ll have interesting, satisfying work.

Aurora, I was up in the night having tea and toast and checking my e-mail when your comment came in, I was surprised there was another nut up at that time, then remembered you’re eleven hours differentiated.

I’ll get around to checking out both your blogs tomorrow, I just love how we can ‘talk’ around the world like this.
