Are You Scared of Flying?

I had every intention of doing a couple of posts tonight but time has run out and I have to be up early in the morning to take a load of garbage to the dump. I quite like going up there, it’s like a little world on its own separate from the every day life of the city. Strictly speaking it’s a transfer station, a huge building with scavenging seagulls flying around inside and large front end loaders filling the trucks that take it to the landfill. The smell you get used to and don’t really notice. Vehicles are weighed on the way in and out to determine the weight of the load which is charged for at $1 per 10kg. The main guy seeing you in and inspecting what you’re dumping, cardboard, drywall, paper, any metal and so on must be taken round the back and put into 40 yard bins, is a large man with a walrus moustache and is always at least grumpy if not downright miserable, well I guess it’s not the sort of career that builds self esteem so you can’t blame him and I always greet him cheerily. Hmm, could be that doesn’t help. I try to be up there at 6.30, no waiting in line then, I’m home again less than an hour after leaving here. Maybe I’ll take my camera, woohoo, can’t wait, say my readers!

And so to bed.

Wow, that is some low flying. I don’t think I’d hang out much on that beach!

And I swear, only you could nuance out the up side of going to the dump. :)
