Y’all…..
……must read this.
And this.
Some day it may begin to dawn on attentive observers that Obama represents a type that flourishes on many college campuses. The technical term that applies to Obama is b.s. artist. Obama is an overaged example of the phenomenon, but his skills in the art have brought him great success and he’s not giving it up now.
Was there ever such a joke running for President of the good old US of A.

Sphere: Related ContentIn January 2007, when General David Petraeus took command in Iraq, he called the situation “hard” but not “hopeless.” Today, 18 months later, violence has fallen by up to 80 percent to the lowest levels in four years, and Sunni and Shiite terrorists are reeling from a string of defeats. The situation now is full of hope, but considerable hard work remains to consolidate our fragile gains.
Progress has been due primarily to an increase in the number of troops and a change in their strategy. I was an early advocate of the surge at a time when it had few supporters in Washington. Senator Barack Obama was an equally vocal opponent. “I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there,” he said on January 10, 2007. “In fact, I think it will do the reverse.”
Now Senator Obama has been forced to acknowledge that “our troops have performed brilliantly in lowering the level of violence.” But he still denies that any political progress has resulted.
Perhaps he is unaware that the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad has recently certified that, as one news article put it, “Iraq has met all but three of 18 original benchmarks set by Congress last year to measure security, political and economic progress.” Even more heartening has been progress that’s not measured by the benchmarks. More than 90,000 Iraqis, many of them Sunnis who once fought against the government, have signed up as Sons of Iraq to fight against the terrorists. Nor do they measure Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki’s new-found willingness to crack down on Shiite extremists in Basra and Sadr City — actions that have done much to dispel suspicions of sectarianism.
The success of the surge has not changed Senator Obama’s determination to pull out all of our combat troops. All that has changed is his rationale. In a New York Times op-ed and a speech this week, he offered his “plan for Iraq” in advance of his first “fact finding” trip to that country in more than three years. It consisted of the same old proposal to pull all of our troops out within 16 months. In 2007 he wanted to withdraw because he thought the war was lost. If we had taken his advice, it would have been. Now he wants to withdraw because he thinks Iraqis no longer need our assistance.
To make this point, he mangles the evidence. He makes it sound as if Prime Minister Maliki has endorsed the Obama timetable, when all he has said is that he would like a plan for the eventual withdrawal of U.S. troops at some unspecified point in the future.
Senator Obama is also misleading on the Iraqi military’s readiness. The Iraqi Army will be equipped and trained by the middle of next year, but this does not, as Senator Obama suggests, mean that they will then be ready to secure their country without a good deal of help. The Iraqi Air Force, for one, still lags behind, and no modern army can operate without air cover. The Iraqis are also still learning how to conduct planning, logistics, command and control, communications, and other complicated functions needed to support frontline troops.
No one favors a permanent U.S. presence, as Senator Obama charges. A partial withdrawal has already occurred with the departure of five “surge” brigades, and more withdrawals can take place as the security situation improves. As we draw down in Iraq, we can beef up our presence on other battlefields, such as Afghanistan, without fear of leaving a failed state behind. I have said that I expect to welcome home most of our troops from Iraq by the end of my first term in office, in 2013.
But I have also said that any draw-downs must be based on a realistic assessment of conditions on the ground, not on an artificial timetable crafted for domestic political reasons. This is the crux of my disagreement with Senator Obama.
Senator Obama has said that he would consult our commanders on the ground and Iraqi leaders, but he did no such thing before releasing his “plan for Iraq.” Perhaps that’s because he doesn’t want to hear what they have to say. During the course of eight visits to Iraq, I have heard many times from our troops what Major General Jeffrey Hammond, commander of coalition forces in Baghdad, recently said: that leaving based on a timetable would be “very dangerous.”
The danger is that extremists supported by Al Qaeda and Iran could stage a comeback, as they have in the past when we’ve had too few troops in Iraq. Senator Obama seems to have learned nothing from recent history. I find it ironic that he is emulating the worst mistake of the Bush administration by waving the “Mission Accomplished” banner prematurely.
I am also dismayed that he never talks about winning the war — only of ending it. But if we don’t win the war, our enemies will. A triumph for the terrorists would be a disaster for us. That is something I will not allow to happen as president. Instead I will continue implementing a proven counterinsurgency strategy not only in Iraq but also in Afghanistan with the goal of creating stable, secure, self-sustaining democratic allies.

An Open Letter to Barack Obama: Go Home
An Open Letter to Barack Obama
by David Ha’ivri
Barack Obama, why don’t you just go home?
Barack, your visit here is just a waste of time; you’re not wanted or needed here. We’ll do just fine without you and you’ll probably do better with out us, too. Don’t come around here making as if you’re looking out for the good of Israel. We know who you are and who your friends are. Zigzagging back and forth about dividing or un-dividing Jerusalem won’t clear your history.
I’m not talking about your middle name. Any good Christian might have the middle name Hussein (although I can’t think of any others). We won’t hold that against you. There are worse things than having an Arab name; like for instance being supported by a known Jew-hater, bigot Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, who among other statements has accused the Jews of bringing on the Holocaust through cooperation with Hitler – “They helped him get the Third Reich on the road.” But, of course, it would be wrong to hold that against you, because you haven’t been rallying for his support (recently).
We can’t really blame you for the beliefs of Father Michael Pfleger, who embraces Black Liberation Theology, which claims that Jesus was Black – so the Jews have no claim to Israel and, therefore, the Muslims are the rightful heirs of the Holy Land. Those beliefs have nothing to do with you, aside from the fact that you have coined the man your “moral compass.” But one must admit that Pfleger is not your only mentor and also is not alone in looking up to Farrakhan.
Your spiritual mentor is Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who has praised Jimmy Carter for denouncing Zionism. Last year, the Trumpet Newsmagazine of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to Louis Farrakhan and said that he is a man who “truly epitomized greatness.” You are a member of that Church and Jeremiah Wright is its leader and your spiritual adviser.
Now you won’t go so far as to criticize Jimmy Carter, not even for meeting with the heads of Hamas, because, to paraphrase your words, “It’s not your place to criticize him.” That is, not until the next day, when you were seeking the support of Jewish leaders. Then you must have found a new place for criticism. Aren’t the Jews great for giving a guy a new vision and a sense of self-confidence? Is that what you meant by, “It’s time for change”?
Barack Hussein, we won’t hold it against you. But can you tell us what you mean by supporting a Palestinian State along side Israel? Do you mean a replay of the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Gaza three years ago? Do you foresee soldiers carrying men, women and children away from their homes, which are to be demolished by bulldozers? Palestinian rule brought on the endless rocket fire on Sderot and the thousands of Jewish refugees who have yet to find permanent homes or means of a steady income. Is that your vision of a new hope that Farakkhan’s Final Call website praises you for?
Barack Hussein, why don’t you just go home? Your visit to Israel this week is not because you’re looking out for the wellbeing of Israel and the Jewish people. You’re coming to Israel looking for the Jewish vote; your goal is to speak with the Jewish American voters through the press coverage of this tour to the holy land. You want them to think that you took the time off from your busy campaign to further peace in the Middle East. Your hope is that enough stupid Jews will misread the message and take it as an act of support for Israel.
Don’t use us or our land as a photo-op to transmit a twisted call for support to Jewish-American voters. You don’t fool us. We know who you and your friends are.
Barack Hussein, why don’t you just go home? But on the way out, remember the words you heard here from the proud Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria: “This is our land!” We are back after two thousand years of forced exile and we are not about to leave it again.

“Barack Obomb Em” and His Jilted Leftist Lovers
Obama’s skin may be black (sort of) but Mr. “Hope and Change” has the political skin of a chameleon, something his jilted Marxist supporters are learning. They needn’t worry. He’ll “change” again.
In 1988 Davidson founded Networking for Democracy (NFD), an initiative that teaches computer skills and radical politics to Chicago-area teenagers. The NFD program encourages students to engage in “mass action” aimed at “tearing down the old structures of race and class privilege” in the U.S. “and around the world.”
In 1992 Davidson became a leader of the newly formed Committees of Correspondence, a Marxist coalition of former Maoists, Trotskyists, and Communist Party USA members. The organization has since changed its name to the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, where Davidson remains a prominent figure.
In the mid-1990s Davidson was a major player in the Chicago branch of the New Party, a Marxist political coalition whose objective was to endorse and elect leftist public officials. Most New Party members hailed from the Committees of Correspondence (the Marxist coalition cited in the preceding paragraph), the Democratic Socialists of America, and the militant leftist organization ACORN. Davidson first met Barack Obama through the New Party, which endorsed the latter in his run for the Illinois state senate in 1996. Obama had actively sought this endorsement, and he used a number of New Party volunteers as campaign workers.Davidson quickly became one of Obama’s most ardent political supporters. He helped organize a large 2002 rally where Obama first established himself as an eloquent anti-war spokesman.
[...]
By 2007, Davidson had become somewhat disillusioned by what he perceived as a diminution in Barack Obama’s anti-war fervor. Early that year, for example, Davidson wrote the following:
“I’m from Chicago … and [I've] known Obama from the time he came to the New Party to get our endorsement for his first race ever…. He said all the right things to the ACORN and New Party folks, and we endorsed him [in 1996], but I noticed too, that he seemed to measure every answer to questions put to him several times before coming out with it….“After he visited Iraq when the war was on, he turned. Now we had to set aside whether it was right or wrong to invade, now we had to find the ‘smart’ path to victory, not Bush’s ‘dumb’ path. Also, in dealing with Iran, we had to leave on the table bombing their nuclear sites. For this, a lot of the local antiwar activists started calling him ‘Barack ‘Obomb ‘em’…. Our peace groups here are sending a bunch of us to visit him soon, and get on his case. Perhaps he’s still a work in progress, as Jesse Jackson says, but he still has a way to go to get back in my good graces …”
Davidson is the author of several books, including CyberRadicalism: A New Left for a Global Age (co-authored with Jerry Harris), and Stopping War, Seeking Justice (co-authored with Marilyn Katz).

Saudi and Progressive Thought Police Hold Much in Common
As most who have studied Islam can attest to, Islamists and “progressives” hold much in common, including the love of censorship. Seems like “Arab information ministers” ( I wonder who will hold that title in the coming socialist administration in the US) are no more fond of Saudi talk radio shows than their “Progressive” counterparts in America.
Talk shows on Arab satellite television stations have been a forum for rollicking criticisms of Arab regimes and sharp discussions of taboo topics – especially live shows where listeners can call in with uncensorable opinions. But governments are now trying to rein them in. This week, Arab information ministers adopted a “Charter of Principles” seeking to regulate satellite broadcasts, raising fears among media circles of a concerted move to muzzle stations. “Some satellite channels have deviated from the right path,” Egyptian Information Minister Anas el-Fiqi told the ministers gathering in Cairo on Tuesday. “There are violations that have taken place, violations taking place around the clock, which require a serious stance.” The charter prohibits criticism of Arab leaders and religious figures and warns in vague terms of harming social peace, national unity, and public morals, demanding “adherence to objectivity, sincerity and respect to the dignity of the countries, nations and their national sovereignty.”
Don’t make the mistake of feeling comfortably safe from such Orwellian tactics in America. The Reprogressive and their good islamist friends are just as determined to strangle your free speech. Have you ever written a particularly vituperative email? I have. Not threatening, just angry. Well, so did former diplomat Patrick Syring and he now faces one year in jail for doing so. Think about it. An e-mail. Not a threatening email, but one expressing the contempt and rage that most sane Americans feel towards islamists.
If Zogby were a decent person, he would go after the Arab terrorists. Instead, he goes after patriotic Americans who use words to denounce those trying to make America fertile ground for Arab terror.
Zogby and his Arab American Institute (AAI) is in the business of silencing Americans who speak out. We at TMQ2 know this all too well (See: U.S. Arab Group Intimidates Google into Censoring THE MUSLIM QUESTION Blog).
In the case below, the AAI successfully put an American in prison for one year for sending a vituperative email. What’s America coming to?
Zogby Silences Americans
Here are a few excerpts from these so-called threatening emails.
- The only good Lebanese is a dead Lebanese. The only good Arab is a dead Arab. Long live the IDF (Israel Defense Forces).
- I think James Zogby is worse than Osama bin Laden. Since he supports Hezballah, he’s an anti-Semitic motherfucker, and the only good Arab is a dead Arab.
- You wicked evil Hezbollah-supporting Arabs should burn in the fires of hell for eternity and beyond. The United States would be safer without you. God Bless the State of Israel. God Bless America. Sincerely, Patrick in Arlington, VA.
- Praise for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for “bombing Lebanon back to the stone age where it belongs. Arabs are dogs.”
- Fuck the Arabs and Fuck James Zogby and his wicked Hizbollah brothers. They will burn in hellfire on this earth and in the hereafter.
- You are a fucking anti-Semitic Arab-American stooge who sympathizes with Hezballah (sic) terror.[7]
I fail to find that offensive, sorry. Fail to see a threat. Any anti-jihadist blogger can show you far more incendiary emails as well as direct, specific threats. For that matter, based on this, they ought to round up 99% of all the imans spewing hate behind their protected mosques.
Me? I have no doubt that a good many islamists would wish me dead. And I understand completely. The sentiments are mutual. The only time the government has any business sticking their nose into it is when words become actions. Failing that, Arabs and Islamists need to grow a pair. Not a likely event.

George Soros and American Judges
Americans need to understand that a vote for Barack Hussein Obama is a vote for George Soros. You don’t actually believe that Obama comes by any of his so-called “convictions” honestly. His strings are
pulled and his mouth stuffed with words by the handlers who brought him to this point. Without being propelled into national politics he would have remained what he actually is; an activist with a law degree. Gee, those are rare aren’t they?
If Soros manages to get Obama into office, do you think he will just walk away? No. Barack Obama owes Soros. For a black (1/16th) man who pretends to carry the bloody weight of “his people’s” history, he certainly doesn’t mind selling his soul to a white man. And this particular white man will extract what his due him. And Americans will suffer.
Here is another pet project Soros has his money behind. You can be damn sure Barack Obama will facilitate it’s ultimate goals. After all, that’s why Soros chose him.
Sphere: Related ContentThere’s an interesting move in Pennsylvania to try to remove power from the people to elect judges. I’d never heard of the Merit Selection movement before a friend brought it to my attention this morning, but googling around, it turns out some 20 states already use it. In essence, rather than electing judges, “Merit Selection” puts the power to select judges in the hands of a judicial selection commission, which forwards slates of names from which a governor may choose.
[...]
Whats interesting and creepy is the money for this movement is coming from George Soros, whos giving grants to all kinds of organizations pushing merit selection. Groups such as Justice At Stake and Judgesonmerit.org ….Someone needs to do a psychological profile of George Soros and get him help. How can a holocaust survivor be so deeply anti-liberty? In the meantime, beware talk of “good judges” and “judicial reform.” It may not mean what you want it to mean.

The Prisoner Exchange. [Update]
Aurora had a thoughtful response to my post on the Israeli prisoner exchange.
Ligneus, I read this the other day (thought I’d commented then) and your first sentence here has been drifting around in my head. No I can’t condemn their decision either. Israel is such a just society which always tries to do what’s right. I do agree with you, however, that they are going to need to look at a change of policy. The lowlifes who are always after them to torture and destroy and wipe every last one of them out will never stop and especially in the face of Israel being seen as weak, which is how these people interpret the lack of a dynamic, swift reprisal.
I couldn’t reply because of the blog meltdown but here are some links to a number of interesting articles on the subject.
First, from Front Page Magazine, Samir Kuntar and the Last Laugh.
I like the ending:
For those concerned with the welfare and security of Israel, I propose two consolations. First, Israel remains a powerful country that can afford mistakes; one estimate even predicts it would survive an exchange of nuclear weapons with Iran, while Iran would not.
Second, the Kuntar affair could have a surprise happy ending. A senior Israeli official told David Bedein that, now out of jail, Israel’s obligation to protect Kuntar is terminated; on arrival in Lebanon, he became “a target for killing. Israel will get him, and he will be killed … accounts will be settled.” Another senior official added “we cannot let this man think that he can go unpunished for his murder of a 4-year-old girl.”
From the always interesting David Warren came this article with a different conclusion, one that justifies my uncharacteristic fence sitting.
Sphere: Related ContentConsider, for a moment, one of the celebrities the Israelis turned over. Sumil Kuntar murdered an Israeli family including a little girl in a terror operation at Nahariya in 1979. The details are horrific, and I won’t revisit them.
On Thursday, this man told Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV network, “To tell you the truth, we envy our enemies — the way they care for a body and will go to the end of the world in order to get it back.” He added that, reading in jail, he had come to feel, by comparison, the “disregard for human beings’ value in Arab countries,” mentioning specifically Egypt’s indifferent attitude towards its own soldiers, missing in action.
I intended the paradoxical conclusion, which I invite my reader to puzzle over. Here is one terrorist who may possibly have benefited from taking stock in jail, and has at least shown a particle of real courage in mentioning something that he learned. All of Lebanon may have gone to hell, yet this one man could be worth saving.

Soros and Obama: “Deliverance” in America’s Heartland
To George Soros (and his bought and paid for boy Obama) rural America is just another third world country to exploit. As I have tried to study Soros and his many tentacled and multifarious tangle of NGO’s and “humanitarian” entities, a type of blue print began to emerge. In almost every country he seeks to subvert, he implements a type of multi-prong agenda which includes, “gender” rights, homosexual “rights”, some version of women’s “rights”, drug legalization, abortion “rights”, gun control along with deluging the subject population with all kinds of “educational” programs. I am glad to see that others recognize his similar approach in America.
The ongoing 2008 Presidential election represents Soros’ importation of the techniques he has utilized for popular subversion in foreign lands to the U.S. political process. MoveOn.org, an organization hugely funded by George Soros, played a central role in Barack Obama’s capture of the Democratic nomination, despite Hillary Clinton’s clear superiority in the popular vote. Although positioned as a pro-Obama instrument long before, as of February of 2008, MoveOn officially backed Obama’s campaign, sending him an army of “volunteers” and an established money machine and fundraising base. As Lyndon LaRouche has repeatedly warned, Obama himself is a throwaway in the financial oligarchy’s plan to capture the Presidency of the United States under conditions of economic collapse. He was promoted to destroy the Clinton candidacy and its potential for a Rooseveltian solution to the financial collapse
Soros buys the nomination… Obama borrows it
And one of the many groups carrying his water in America is the Ameri-phobic ACLU.
…the organization most responsible for the intimidation of Christian religious freedom announced a new, multi-million dollar campaign to expand its work and, “substantially increase the ACLU’s presence and effectiveness from coast to coast by significantly increasing the programmatic and institutional capacity of its affiliates.”
The $335 million project has already raised funds in excess of $258 million. From where? Such liberal dignitaries as George Soros ($12 million), the Leon Levy Foundation ($5 million), and Obama backers Quinn Delaney and Wayne Jordan ($4 million).
So what does this mean for West Virginia? As the announcement from the ACLU notes: “smaller affiliates located mainly in the South and in the country’s heartland [editor's note: this would include West Virginia] will be bolstered by increased resources that will enable them to hire full-time attorneys, launch new advocacy programs, and expand communications and public education initiatives.”
One would guess that in the coming months and years, West Virginians will be blessed with the leftist agenda for which the ACLU has become renowned. Such as:
….championing marriage equality in California and gay rights in Tennessee, . . . fighting the introduction of “intelligent design” curricula in Pennsylvania, . . . overturning abortion bans in Mississippi . . ..
ACLU Plans Major Expansion
See the pattern? Doesn’t matter if it’s an illiterate Malaysian, a poverty stricken Russian, or a simple coal miner in Tennessee, Soros seeks to “educate” them, and there will be plenty of lawyer power to defeat any small, comparatively impotent Christian groups who might try to stir up opposition.
And then here comes Obama…..
Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign announced Wednesday that it is adding 20 offices across Virginia, an unprecedented effort by a presidential candidate and another sign that he plans to compete vigorously in a state that has been on the sidelines during past presidential contests.
The offices, which will open Saturday, will be in nearly every medium-size city in the state, along with a few locations often overlooked by statewide candidates, much less a presidential campaign.
[...]
Many offices will be in traditional Republican strongholds, such as Harrisonburg in the Shenandoah Valley and Lynchburg in southern Virginia. In southwestern Virginia, where Obama performed poorly in the Feb. 12 primary, the campaign will open an office in Bristol and in Castlewood, a town of 2,000 in the heart of the region’s coal country.“We know we have a lot of work to do in some of these places,” said Kevin Griffis, an Obama spokesman. “Without these sorts of offices there, we are not going to make as much headway as with us there. We think this will, at the very least, help us close the margin.”
(Source)
Quite frankly, it would be better if a bubonic plague were let lose in America’s interior than the vermin released by Soros and the lamentable Obama.
The Hollywood left have caricatured this same rural America in Deliverance. Most every Hollywood portrayal of the “good old boys” is demeaning, rendering these folks as unshaven, tobacco spitting, beer guzzling ignoramuses. I hope that imagery come back to bite these damnable Reprogressives in the ass. In fact, I hope a few of them experience what the characters in Deliverance experienced, though, no doubt, there are some in this leftist incursion who would enjoy it. No, what Soros Obama and Co plan to deliver to rural Americans is a violation far more evil than anything depicted in Deliverance. It is spiritual rape, it is a violation of the heartland that will reverberate for decades should they succeed.

Permalinks, Malicious Scripts and Barack Hussein Obama.
I apologize for the light posting but I upgraded this WordPress installation and in the process, destroyed my permalinks. The problem is now resolved ( thanks Ron
). I still suspect some kind of problem with a malicious script or some kind of bot thing as I am getting an influx of peculiar searches, but we can function again at least.
I missed, rather gratefully, the great pretender, Hussein Obama’s, middle east farce but the headline I think best describes it is Pat Dollard’s American Garbage Drifts to the Middle East.
A fuckstick like this, who has helped kill American troops by encouraging the enemy to keep fighting, having the gumption to stand amongst them on the field of battle itself, doesn’t make me very happy at all…and a reminder that we all have some serious business to attend to here at home.
Obama is rather like a malicious script, isn’t he? One that infects and drags the entire nation down. He is similar to a recent infection that tricks users into thinking that they need a certain application with which to view porn – if that’s your thing, you’d be inclined to download it. What Obama offers is a surfeit of emotional porn for the muddle-minded, touchy-feely class of Reprogressives. Downloading him is akin to downloading a Trojan Horse that will infect and compromise the essential operating system of America.
Like Dollard says, we have some serious business in America and the first order of business is ridding our operating system of the malware known as Barack Hussein Obama and his posse of Reprogressives.

Green Nazis Must be Gloating These Days
I can just imagine the green nazis, or Progressives as they like to call themselves, rubbing their hands together in orgasmic glee as they see a growing number of Americans unable to travel, unable to take family vacations, or like me, with a limited income, not being able to take the grand kids on our usual road adventures. They probably are patting each other on the backs with self-congratulatory pomposity as they push through their insidious “public transport” or, as they read about Americans not being able to pursue homes far from the city because the commute went from just being a pain in the ass to one that imposes an onerous financial hit.

And they just must be salivating in anticipation as bills like this latest bastard piece of legislative meddling is presented to the pathetic asses we elected into office. Instead of brainstorming for ways to drill or build nuke plants, they instead seek ways to make our lives worse via economic and legislative extortion. My interpretation of each proposal is in red.
Anxious to look like they’re doing something about rising oil and gas prices — but unwilling to expand domestic oil drilling — Democrats have introduced a bill that’s supposed to ease pain at the pump by offering alternatives to driving.
The bill does nothing to increase domestic energy supply. Instead, it’s focused on the demand side of the equation, and that’s earned it kudos from environmental activists.
According to the Environmental Defense Fund, the bill — called the Transportation and Housing Options for Gas Price Relief Act of 2008 — would allocate taxpayer money to:
– expand public transportation;
increase tax burden and open up suburbs for criminals to find new targets for home invasions and assaults
– encourage “pay-as-you-drive” auto insurance policies that reward low-mileage drivers with lower insurance premiums;
penalize drivers who do not cooperate with the green agenda to suffer exorbitant insurance rates– reduce commuting costs by providing incentives to employers and employees to take transit, bicycle, carpool, walk, or telecommute to work;
marginalizing those who love to drive, need to drive, want to drive and rewarding the sheeple who comply as well as imposing more burdens on the business owner. When will it become too much a hassle for a businessman to hire normal Americans anymore. And has anybody ever thought about the time ramifications? A ten minute commute becomes an hour long bike ride. Next they’ll want companies to provide shower facilities so these sweating little comrades don’t stink up the office.
– help local governments create “walkable, bikeable” communities;
extort more money from taxpayers to put more expensive “lipstick on a pig” by sticking housing in undesirable urban areas, penalizing builders by making it unprofitable to build outside urban areas.– help Americans make “smart” transportation and housing choices by educating them about their options;
indoctrinate, via the media, schools and every progressive pulpit, that to desire a free unencumbered life is “un-American and anti-social”.
– create “location efficient mortgages” that would make owning a home near transit more affordable.
only the wealthy will be able to afford to build and live outside of the city. If the progressive freaks don’t buy up all the available land and slam some conservation restrictions on thousands of acres. But hell, these are the whores who hate the concept of private property to begin with.
The bill also would require the federal government to upgrade key Web sites so Americans would have easier access to government services without leaving home or work.
What the hell does this mean? How many Americans make a habit of going to government offices except those already with their mouth glued to a government teat
Democrats Float Bill to Curb Gasoline Demand
Brendan O’Neill gets it right in ” Greens Are the Enemies of Liberty”. I suggest that you click the link and read it all. An excerpt follows:
Environmentalists want to curb our freedom far more than the government’s anti-terrorist laws ever will…
Imagine a society so illiberal that columnists felt no qualms about demanding government legislation to force us to change our behaviour; where the public was continually implored to feel guilty about everything from driving to shopping – and where those who refused to feel guilty were said to be suffering from a “psychological” disorder or some other species of mental illness”.Surely no one would put up with such a society? Yet today, all of the above things are happening – under what we might call the tyranny of environmentalism – and people are putting up with it.
[...]
Liberty – true liberty – requires that people see themselves as self-respecting, self-determining subjects, capable of making free choices and pursuing the “good life” as they see fit. Today, by contrast, we are warned that we are toxic, loaded, dangerous specimens, who must always restrain our instincts and aspire to austerity. This is not conducive to a culture of liberty; indeed, it represents a dangerous historic shift, from the Enlightenment era of free citizenship to a new dark age where individuals are depicted as meek in the face of more powerful, unpredictable forces: the gods of the sea, sky and ozone layer. And what of those individuals who say “to hell with environmentalism” and continue living the way they want to? Apparently, in the words of the Ecologist, they have a disordered “psychology”; they are victims of “self-deception and mass denial”.
Some greens openly admit they are on the side of illiberalism. George Monbiot describes environmentalism as “a campaign not for more freedom but for less”. Environmentalism is instinctively and relentlessly illiberal, and it is doing more to inculcate people with fear, self-loathing and a religious-style sense of meekness than any piece of anti-terror legislation ever could. If you believe in freedom, you must reject it.”

The Prisoner Exchange.
I find I can’t criticise Israel for freeing a child murderer and others in exchange for the bodies of the two soldiers captured south of Lebanon. They have their reasons for doing so, of which giving their soldiers the knowledge that they would not be abandoned even in death is maybe the deepest and most human of them. But it bothers me for the message it sends to their enemies, that they can bargain for the release of the most heinous of the terrorists even with captives no longer alive. It gives them a great incentive to kidnap more Israelis, not necessarily military personnel, and they have no need to even bother keeping them alive. These consequences one might think would outweigh the deep emotional need to look after their own and so I admire immensely that in spite of that they do what they think they ought.
Jeff Emanuel takes a more serious look at the problem of releasing prisoners like these and the Gitmo inmates, taking in as he does how the NYT has been getting it wrong for ever.

Which you can find in this post at Contentions, the blog of Commentary Magazine.
Linda, whatever faults one can find in the Times poll and related analysis, the paper seems to have gotten the main and most important point right, which has greatly disturbed the Obama camp: less than a third of whites have a favorable opinion of Barack Obama. And the campaign’s efforts at pushback demonstrate that they are aware of the badness of this news. (When Hillary Clinton brought this phenomenon up there was hell to pay, but the facts are the facts.)

Good on Oklahoma

State Rep. Charles Key of Oklahoma is attempting to do what I hope all states will pursue. They are reminding the federal government that it’s power is limited
Sphere: Related Content“Whereas, the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads as follows: ‘The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.’; and Whereas, the Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of federal power as being that specifically granted by the Constitution of the United States and no more; and whereas, the scope of power defined by the Tenth Amendment means that the federal government was created by the states specifically to be an agent of the states; and Whereas, today, in 2008, the states are demonstrably treated as agents of the federal government. … Now, therefore, be it resolved by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the 2nd session of the 51st Oklahoma Legislature: that the State of Oklahoma hereby claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States. That this serve as Notice and Demand to the federal government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers.”
[...]
State efforts, such as Oklahoma’s, create a glimmer of hope that one day Americans and their elected representatives will realize that the federal government is the creation of the states. A bit of rebellion by officials in other states will speed that process along.

Progressives Playing in Their Own Feces

It is cliche, at this point, to say that the left has hit a new low and are digging deeper. In the instance of an upcoming book, I think the more accurate picture is to imagine them as demented clowns lounging in a sewer, sipping excrement and stale piss through a straw, regurgitating it and then spitting it at the rest of the world, expecting all to join their fecal spattered party.
Laura Bush has conducted herself with the utmost dignity and grace during her eight years in the White House. Aside from her putting on that damn headscarf when she visited the middle east, there is little to fault her with. If mewling Michelle Obama should somehow obtain that role, the contrast will indeed be stark. Laura will be very much missed, if not her husband.
But the left can’t leave her alone. Timed to coincide with the November elections, some miscreant bitch who fancies herself to be a writer has penned a tome of the utmost vile and gutterish thought processes that I have had the misfortune to be aware of in a long time. Someone ought to go check out this “author’s” computer. I’d not be surprised to find that between penning poisonous tomes that she might just enjoy child porn. In her wretched world I’m sure it is considered high art.
On the heels of two best-selling books… Iowa-trained author Curtis Sittenfeld is about to release her most controversial book yet—a thinly veiled novel based on Laura Bush’s life that is sure to send the White House into a fury. Published by Random House next fall, American Wife tells the story of Alice Blackwell, a quiet librarian whose husband Charlie becomes the bumbling president of the United States. It is, in short, a fictional examination of the life of the First Lady that mingles real facts and incidents with the author’s imaginative, fanciful, sometimes sexually charged musings. The result is a masterful highbrow-lowbrow mash-up that satisfies as ass-kicking literary fiction and juicy gossip simultaneously.
On the gossip front, the novel doesn’t disappoint. From discovering that her grandmother is a lesbian, killing her high school crush with her car at age 16 (this incident at least is based in fact—Laura Bush was involved in a fatal car accident at that age), having sex with his brother, getting an abortion, and descriptions of sex with the president, Alice’s antics are sure to have tongues chattering from coast to coast. While we want to stress that American Wife is primarily a work of fiction, we know that there are those of you who can’t wait until the book’s September release to read a description of the George W. Bush character’s penis. (Source)

Barack Hussein Obama: The “New Socialist Man”
Actually, I am not certain that socialism is any more the proper term for what the good folk have in mind for us, at least not socialism in the classic text book sense.
[...]
We will get what we need, and they will tell us what it is that we need. And also what we should want to watch on NPR, i.e. The Vagina Monologues and The Color Purple and not NASCAR or football – unless its the good European football. So really, these people are not so much socialists as they are social engineers. In my field guide, socialists are the opponent, but social engineers are the enemy… Now American social engineers want to have another go at building the new socialist man.
Have you ever watched a man in a strait jacket? You immediately start feeling claustrophobic, a sense of confinement, a tightening of the chest. Or, recall the familiar vexation felt when watching a horror flick’s usual fool walking straight into the maw of a monster.
That is what I feel like as I witness America stumble.
At first, after 9.11, before I realized that liberals had become socialists, I was astounded that they didn’t “get it” on islam. As time went on, I became increasingly amazed that they were silent when artists, bloggers, writers across Europe and in Canada were silenced, or murdered, by muslims. And hate speech? To have reached a point where the NYT dares to suggest that there really ought to be restriction to free speech?!? The chill really started seeping into my marrow when I finally realized that the left certainly does “get it”, worse, they want it.
Which brings up another image from cinema.
You’ll remember the movie Independence Day? In one of the scenes a stripper, a friend of Will Smith’s girlfriend, is giddy with excitement at the prospect of aliens visiting earth. She apparently sees nothing ominous as huge crafts take positions hovering over cities across the globe. She just assumes they came with good will. When she gets off work she puts a crayoned sign together proclaiming an exuberant welcome and goes to the top of a skyscraper with hundreds of others to wave her sign in greeting. It isn’t until the last second that she realizes that the portal opening in the bottom of the spacecraft is delivering a devastating terminal force.
That’s what the ululations and mass hysteria surrounding Obama reminds me of. Americans now enthused over Obama are very much like that dim witted chick. Unknowingly, they welcome the impending death of their country.
Socialism, the curtailment of basic freedoms, is like an alien entity hovering over our nation and Obama is most emphatically the model for “the new socialist man.”
The excerpts that follow are from a site I just discovered – Veteran-American Voices. Every post I have read there confirms that some dark times are coming if Americans do not finally get a clue. And like the cinematic fools walking to their death, America walks – no – marches, with spirited cadence to hers.
If you scoff at the idea of socialism in the US, I suggest you spend some time on the linked site. If you can’t recognize the threat represented in Obama and the so-called progressives, well, why don’t you just go and get some crayons and do up a sign for Obama. And don’t say you weren’t warned.

A free people do not readily give up their freedom and submit to government control. This must be achieved by stages and by manipulation, though strictly for the masses’ own good of course. One of Lenin’s mistakes was to rely too much on bayonets and raw decrees, and to neglect a strategic plan. Lenin and Stalin spoke of capturing the “commanding heights” of industrial production. Our new social engineers seek to capture the commanding heights of social organization. Many of the political controversies of recent years are of strictly secondary importance. Winning on such an issue as Social Security abortion, or minimum wage may consolidate a particular point of conflict, but will offer no leverage or great strategic advantage for future clashes. Three important areas are the war for mass transportation, for domination of education, and for public healthcare.

We are told that the current fuel crisis is all about oil shortages. But that idea is debunked by the vast unutilized oil finds in the USA and elsewhere. We are told that we cannot touch that oil for fear of spoiling the natural beauty of the desert tundra in a small corner of ANWR or disturbing the breeding ground of the Alaskan mosquito. Nonsense. That oil has been left untouched because those making the decisions want a fuel scarcity and elevated prices in order to discourage private driving. Back in the 1990s, and even into the 1970s, those people spoke of a desire to see the price of oil raised and to see private driving curtailed. In addition to trying to raise the price of gasoline and make it less available through complicated programs mandating a wide variety of additives, they have also taken numerous other measures designed to handicap car drivers. Fuel tax revenues supposedly dedicated by law to road and bridge maintenance are regularly diverted to subsidize construction of urban rail projects and similar mass transit programs. Likewise the same for reluctance to build or widen existing roads. Special privileges and lanes are allocated for busses and other high occupancy vehicles. In some states, yearly emission checks for private cars are used for harassment. Speed traps and traffic light cameras serve not only to raise city revenues, but also to harass drivers. Ditto for random checkpoints for sobriety and seatbelt use. In some cities, they like to use extra wide, and extra long articulated busses which can cause safety problems for cars trying to use the same roads. While some of these measures can be defended on other grounds, together, they collude to present a clear message to drivers – take the bus or we’ll make your day impossible. Nor can this drive be justified by reference to pollution – ever noticed how much smelly pollution comes from your average city bus?
[...]
But of course, from a different perspective, these disadvantages are actually great advantages. The planners can determine where you can go, and where you cannot. And when. Transportation is not for getting you where you want to be, but where you’re supposed to be. If you work for a significant corporation, factory or government office, there will be transportation available at the appointed times. If it’s a small office, you should be carpooling with three or more other workers. And its really not social for you to work alone.Another benefit is that traveling in a group is good for your attitude. If you are all alone every day on a long commute, you may start to think by yourself and get ideas. That’s bad. Or you may listen to a radio station, and that could be even worse. But if you are with three or four casual acquaintances who are assigned to your carpool, you will each serve as an inhibition on the others, no telling of politically incorrect jokes or listening to heretical ideas on the AM band. What if you heard Imus say something terribly inappropriate, and one of your riders were to laugh inappropriately? Like Japanese schoolgirls on vacation or Soviet sailors on shore leave, it is much better for citizens to travel in groups, lest someone might say or do something unthinkable. This is a part of our new reality in which everyone should be organized and every activity part of an official league. Just as stickball must be eliminated in favor of Little League. Apart from the group is danger, only within the group shall be certainty and safety.
[...]
Once travel, even for short distances becomes an expense and a major burden, people will need to move in and live closer to their place of work and where they shop. Gradually it will save the pristine countryside from the further spread of suburbanization. And it may even gradually roll back the suburbs. And that’s good. People can be kept under better control. If they can’t travel out to the countryside, groups like the Michigan Militia won’t be able to shoot or practice their militias, won’t be able to conspire their horrid resistance. People can live in closely packed little condos, and tightly-knit, carefully planned communities. No more wasteful and polluting barbecues. Integration and affirmative action will be able to proceed to their desired completion. True, it will mean visits to Disney World will be rare, but then Disney is tacky anyway. Citizens should use their free time for mandatory volunteer work for the community, giving something back as they say, and for consciousness raising sessions to remind them how good they have it, now that they no longer have to deal with road traffic and driving lessons, and such. See how much better life will be, how much warmer community will be once the social engineers have restored us to the immobility that nature intended.

Why We Left Islam: Former Muslims Speak Out
A book worthy of your attention.
Sphere: Related ContentIt’s a funny thing. When one makes the seemingly straightforward observation that the vast, vast majority of terrorist attacks in the world are perpetrated by Muslims, one is told that one is tiptoeing close to the dreaded “Islamaphobia” line, and that more education about Islam is needed to rectify this backwards view of one of the world’s great religions.
Then, something even funnier happens. The more one learns about Islam, the MORE accurate the initial impression becomes. This book, a candid discussion of a religious third rail that most Westerners simply refuse to acknowledge, let along confront, throws into stark relief the burdens and perils of both living under Islam, and having the temerity to dare leave it. One finally sees through the veneer of Westernized language to discover that Islam does indeed offer freedom of religion: you can choose Islam, or you can choose death. Islam truly is a religion of peace – so long as the death of “innocents” is narrowly defined to protect only fellow Muslims and the mere fact of being a kaffir is grounds for summary execution. The list goes on and on.
The 23 accounts in here provide gripping, factual representations of just what it is actual Islam holds for those it engulfs. The fact that it is controversial that this book “dares” even print a picture of Muhammed shows you the depths to which truly free speech has sunk even in our nation (it’s also telling that some of Amazon’s ‘tag suggestions’ for this book include ‘sad, bias, drivel, polemic’ and ‘anti-islam’). Understand the “logic” here: this is a truthful book about people’s experiences trying to leave Islam, and that alone is considered “anti-Islam”. I encourage everyone to read this book to truly educate themselves as to what Islam has in store for all of us.

Bloggers with Focus on Kosovo/Balkans, Soros, Free Speech
Well, here is an experiment. There are so many topics that I wish I could cover in this blog that just never make it to a post. I especially wish I could dig deeper and write more about the Balkans, Kosovo in particular. Soros could fill several books. I have been fooling myself to imagine that I could tackle any of these subjects with any type of depth and still keep up daily here. It’s one thing to throw up small posts, it’s another thing to dissect an issue thoroughly and offer any cogent argument for or against, with requisite documentation to support the conclusions reached. I have no illusion that my words carry weight in and of themselves.
So the experiment is to solicit writers/bloggers who may have a particular interest in the following:
- Soros
- Kosovo/Serbia/The Balkans
- Free Speech Issues
I am more than willing to share the links and research I have gathering dust in Diigo. I don’t fool myself in thinking I can do any damage to Soros. By the same token, it can’t hurt to describe his multifarious reach throughout the globe. People are usually stunned when made aware of his agenda and how thoroughly it is being implemented.
I also really doubt the accounts of Kosov, Serbia fed to us by mainstream. Nor do we have a full account of the growing muslim presence in the Balkans and America’s damnably unfortunate role in facilitating it.
The importance of covering the encroaching restrictions on speech go without saying. I fear that too many are asleep on this issue as well. So, the more info out there, the better.
Lig and I would appreciate any serious interest. Email either one of us ( see right sidebar) or leave a comment. Sad to say, I can’t pay. And I would add that some may hesitate because of the acerbic and combative tone I tend to maintain in here. (Ligneus is far more gracious) I am willing to discuss ameliorating that a bit. Other details can be discussed via email or Skype.

Drive-by News
If you would value the right to lock and load in our National Parks, follow the link and put your two cents in. I’d suggest you do so because the meth heads, criminals, roaming terrorists, and their gun control allies would prefer that you didn’t.

Doug Ross describes the downward spiral of Obama’s Chicago residents under Obama’s watch and Jonah Goldberg nails Obama’s addiction to “adulation”. Meanwhile, both Michelle Obama and Spain’s newest citizens have trouble with the phrase “Soy orgulloso de mi país” in their Spanish language class. Just kidding.**** But, perhaps Obama should see to it his backer and buddy, Ameriphobe George Soros, gets a few French lessons for court appearances since he has been judged to be a criminal in France. (H/T: Gateway Pundit) Isn’t it interesting how many criminals Obama is friends with? Yeah, that’s a real change for America.
And, as usual, America’s cowards peace freaks want to deny our soldiers an effective weapon. The Active Denial System inflicts pain instead of death, but, leave it to reprogressives to prefer dead American soldiers to enemies in pain.
And now for one of the most inane, nauseating statement to be uttered by a leader of a free nation that I have yet heard ( besides Bush’s “Islam is a religion of peace“), I bring you French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s pap at the summit of the Union for the Mediterranean.
“The purpose of the summit of the Union for the Mediterranean is that in the Mediterranean, around the Mediterranean, we learn to love each other rather than hate each other and make wars,” Sarkozy told reporters after a meeting with Abbas and Olmert. (…)
Oh yeah, make love not war. Can someone inform the fool that the sixties are over….
***For those who want to squeal that this image is insulting and racist, I would remind you that Bush was the recipient of similar insults from the left for the last eight years. The Obamas insult good Americans almost every time they open their mouths. A little payback is in order.
