So there you go, we make a good balance, you the realist, me the dreamer, well sort of. I'll copy the article and post it, it's worth reading, George Jonas is always worth reading, he came to Canada as an immigrant from Hungary, not sure when but there was a big influx from there in '56 of course.

Just looked him up, he did come here after the '56 uprising.

And, it would be a good balance if I wrote more often!

I don’t think Pelosi would be doing that if there was a Dimwit in the White House, it’s purely intended to prolong the oil crisis to disadvantage the Reps.

That is a good point. If the Obamanite gets in, she'll transform into a servile, ass licking lap dog for her new master.

You make my optimism seem really naive, but in the long term I just don’t see the US going the way of Europe.

The last thing you are is naive Ligneus. I have great respect for your judgment and no matter how much doom I proclaim, I still trust your knowledge and experience can trump my hand wringing.
I couldn't find my way to the article you refer to. That's the dilemma isn't it though - adversity can bring out the best in people while ease and prosperity fosters sloth and dishonesty - and also a host of over educated, febrile minds conjuring up mad schemes to reinvent mankind.

LarryG,
I can't thank you enough for your support and encouragement. I can only call it as I see it. I think it helps not to have been contaminated with a <strike>college</strike> socialist education. An out of control red neck brain is a dangerous thing ;)

Pelosi’s blocking debate over drilling will be the norm in an Obama white house

I don't think Pelosi would be doing that if there was a Dimwit in the White House, it's purely intended to prolong the oil crisis to disadvantage the Reps.

And I'm more convinced than ever that Obambi is going to lose big come November.

There’s no doubt about it; we have been and are still being utterly sold out by those in authority. They, no doubt, are reaping lucrative benefits from their betrayals. Think thirty pieces of silver.

I think more and more are realizing that, comprehending how far down this road we already have come. I am also seeing more bloggers recognizing that Obama is merely a puppet that aims to facilitate that agenda from the white house.

I just do not see how we can reverse it. Pelosi's blocking debate over drilling will be the norm in an Obama white house - just as judges ignore the constitution, cities ansd states ignore federal law on same sex marriage, sanctuary cities, illegals.......the left barely can stick to the old script anymore, showing their contempt and true intent at every turn.

PPS. To work! But first coffee. Reminds me of a cartoon I saw many years ago in UK showing a guy on a Sunday morning saying, I should clean out the garage, and the grass needs cutting, and I promised my wife I'd get the kitchen painted, think I'll have my coffee, that will get one thing done.

You make my optimism seem really naive, but in the long term I just don't see the US going the way of Europe. It could also excuse in a way Obama's view of an America in need of fixing, except his is an assbackwards view of what's wrong and his 'cure' is simply traveling further and faster down the road that got us to where we are.
There is an interesting article by George Jonas in The National Post on Israel's fatigue after 60 years of struggle that seems relevant to the situation in the US in that it's difficult for a people to keep the effort to achieve a goal going after a period of prosperity. [Hope the link works.]
