President Bush – Recall Congress to Washington

I got this email from Redstate.org. Make the Dims go back to work. Post on it. Mail it. And call President Bush.

Republican members of Congress are on the floor of the House of Representatives with no lights on and no cameras on as I write this because the Speaker of the House literally turned off the power on them and skipped town. The Republicans are on the floor of the House fighting to reduce the price of gasoline at the pump. They are fighting for American families. Democrats have turned their backs on the American people and fled Capitol Hill so they do not have to vote to expand domestic oil production.

Pursuant to Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution of the United States of America, the President can compel the House of Representatives and Senate to convene in special session.

The President can force the Democrats to either vote on energy legislation or not.

Normally the American people are better served when Congress is not in session. At this time, however, the President should call the Democrats’ bluff. Call the President at 202-456-1111 and tell him to recall the Congress to Washington to vote on expanding domestic oil production.

Thank you for posting this! I had forgotten that presidential power — and there’s never been a more important time to exercise it.

I agree. I had no clue about it and got my heads up from RedState. Now if enough of us demand it, perhaps, just maybe, Pelosi’s death grip can be loosened.

Agreed Martin, and as far as i am concerned, the repubs better muster up whatever it takes to clear the way for drilling.
