More From the Religion of Peace That Isn’t

A 26-YEAR-old Jordanian man was charged with murder today after his 23-year-old sister was shot dead in an apparent “honour” killing.
The unnamed suspect allegedly shot his sister six times last night in the Nqeira area south of the capital Amman, a security official said.

“He turned himself in and confessed to murdering his sister to cleanse his family’s honour because she disappeared from home for four months with a man,” the official said.

“He killed her the moment she returned home last night. But forensic tests showed that the girl was a virgin.”

It was the eighth reported so-called honour killing this year, according to Jordanian authorities which in 2007 recorded 17 such murders – a slight rise on previous years.

Those convicted in such cases often receive light sentences because parliament has twice refused to reform the penal code, despite pressure from human rights groups to end the near impunity of perpetrators.

Well, they don’t call it the “Religion of Peace” for nothin’. (They love to lie and deceive.)

A Black man on a Philadelphia subway train told his little boy to go sit down. Then he took out a hammer and started brutally attacking an innocent passenger, DeWayne Taylor, also Black, who was dozing off, and beat him senseless, as the entire train car full of passengers did nothing and walked away.

But here’s the important part: The victim said that throughout the entire attack, the man with the hammer was chanting Arabic and saying, “Allah.” Watch the video report:

The Darul-Uloom Hijaziya Chishti, Mumbai, urges a religious boycott of the entire Khan family for celebrating the Hindu festival at their home

Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood scriptwriter Salim Khan, the father of actor Salman Khan, on Friday questioned a fatwa, religious edict, against him by some Muslim organisations for celebrating Ganeshotsav at their home here.

“What is the locus standi of these people? Who are they to question people’s religious beliefs? Why don’t they issue such a ‘fatwa’ against terrorists and terrorism, which is un-Islamic? The clerics are talking nonsense,” he thundered before a television channel on Friday evening.

Mufti Manjar Hassan Khan Ashrafi Misbahi, the chief of Darul-Uloom Hijaziya Chishti, Mumbai, issued the ‘fatwa’ urging a religious boycott of the entire Khan family on Wednesday.

Last week, the Khan family was in the limelight when all members along with friends and relations celebrated the Ganeshotsav festival at their home in Bandra, northwest Mumbai.

SLAMABAD: The Senate Committee hearing the gruesome details of the live burial of women in Balochistan was told on Friday that the number of such women could be seven and not five or three as earlier reported.

But the Committee on Human Rights was ignored totally by the PPP government as none of the three important ministers, who are active members of the Senate body, attended the meeting chaired by Senator SM Zafar.

The absence of these three powerful ministers was felt more, not only because of their current ministerial status but in their capacity as its members, by the jam-packed Committee Room which heard shocking disclosure that the total number of the unfortunate women might be seven. Those who did not attend the meeting were Farooq Naik, Latif Khosa and Rehman Malik.

The notice of the committee meeting was issued many days back, so everybody had ample time to ensure his or her presence in the meeting. Several senators also asked IG Balochistan Asif Nawaz to give them detailed clarifications for making a threatening phone call to this correspondent (Rauf Klasra), in a bid to stop him from pursuing the story of those women. They termed it a sort of “shooting the messenger” and wondered how could he expect from journalists to share their sources of information with him.

ISLAMABAD: The defiant woman Senator from Sindh, Yasmeen Shah, dropped a bombshell in the Senate Committee on Human Rights on Friday by saying that her fellow Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri had warned her that a death squad comprising 12 tribesmen had been dispatched to assassinate her for raising the issue of burial of five women in Balochistan.

Senator Zehri had justified the killing of women in the name of honour and tribal customs when this issue was raised in the Senate on Aug 29 by Yasmeen Shah. Zehri had warned his fellow senators in clear words to refrain from making any comments on the issue of burial of live women in the name of tribal tradition.

Yasmeen Shah made this shocking disclosure during the proceedings of the Senate Committee on Human Rights being presided over by SM Zafar. Over a dozen senators, who were present in the meeting, heard her statement with a sense of utter disbelief, as they could not reconcile with the fact that a senator could issue such threats to a fellow senator. They all assured Yasmeen of their full support and condemned the threat.

Interior Secretary Kamal Shah, senior police officer Tariq Khosa, Balochistan IG Asif Nawaz and other officials were also present in the meeting when they heard the lady senator telling the committee members about the death squad sent to eliminate her.

She explained that none other than Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri had told her in clear terms that a death squad had been sent to eliminate her by some furious Baloch, who did not like her defiance on the floor of the house…

MANAMA: An American woman working as a university lecturer in Bahrain was charged with insulting Prophet Muhammad, local media reported yesterday.
According to the report in the daily Akhbar Al Khalij, a female student at the private university complained to authorities that the lecturer during a lesson presented a drawing of Prophet Muhammad, and in “shabby clothing.”
The lecturer, when called upon to apologise, refused and instead made negative remarks concerning the student’s head covering.
According to the report, the accused who had already lost her university position had in the meantime “secretly left Bahrain.” – DPA

And they cheered as exiled preacher Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed ramped up the hatred via video link from his hideaway in Lebanon.

The 100 devotees packed into a community centre in Walthamstow heard leaders of the outlawed Al Muhajiroun sect describe Osama Bin Laden as a hero who had taught the Americans a lesson seven years ago.

The meeting, to mark the anniversary of the 9/11 attack on New York, was told that the “Crusaders” had not learned their lesson.

Saiful Islam, who is linked to a shadowy organisation called Salafi Youth for Islamic Propagation, said: “The blame of 9/11 belongs to no one but the American government. They are the terrorists.

“Sheikh Osama warned America numerous times. It was because of their own arrogance that Sheikh Osama taught them a lesson, a lesson they still haven’t learned.”

“Wake up. Withdraw. Listen to the warnings. Muslims will stand side-to-side, not just Al Qaeda. The actions of the British and Americans have given prominence to Al Qaeda. All of us have a part to play in stopping the violence or the next 9/11 will take place in Britain and the next 7/7 could take place locally.”
