A Few Things….

First here is Michelle Obama telling the truth:

I think he’ll regret not listening to her, a few years in the Senate with maybe some achievements, a little older and maybe a little wiser, [well that wouldn't take much] who knows, he might have run a winning campaign and become President. Now all that is out of the window as candidates seldom get to take a second bite at the cherry.

also thinks McCain will win and is pretty convincing about it.

John McCain has the upper hand in the November 4th election. How can I say that when the polls show Obama leading by anywhere from one (IBD, the most accurate pollster the last time out) to 13 from the folks who brought you Dan Rather and the use of forged documents to try and steal the election just four years ago. A brief look at the methodolgy of these polls — the degree of over-sampling of Democrats corresponding almost to perfection with the degree of Obama’s “lead” in them — shows a tight race, with McCain actually leading by a point or two.

This reality is underscored by events within the campaigns which, when analyzed, show an Obama camp in desperation.

That will have to do for tonight, me velly tired, and for the next six weeks I’ll be on a seven day work week so blogging will be sparse. Except to celebrate on Nov 5th of course.

Ye Shall Know Them By Their Fruit…..

A good rule of thumb when judging anyone is to see if their actions match their words. Just like the biblical axiom abjures us to observe , the fruit of an individual’s life is evidence of who they are. And the fruit the Obama’s have lying about in their fields and orchards are rather void of caloric content. Indeed, most of it is poisonous. The choices that the Obamas have made in their lives have little resemblance to the choices they facilely demand that Americans make.

Barack Hussein Obama:

Obama, however, excludes himself from charitable obligations or brotherly kindnesses. Personally, I’d prefer the crumbs from the “selfish” wealthy to the fictional parities of “economic justice”. I can run with those capitalist crumbs, make them into a damn cake if I am so inclined.  In Obama’s world there will be no cake – just “brothers” like him.

And as far as that “balance” he was trying to achieve, it doesn’t tilt towards having a heart for his hut dwelling brother, George Hussein Onyango Obama or his Aunt Zeituni. The “fruit” that Obama’s family gets from his socialist tree is far more representative of the “justice ” that a socialist reality will deliver than any of Obama’s slick words.

All Charisma, No Heart

How can Obama spare thousands for Chicago’s Muntu Theater of African dance, while allowing his 56-year-old Aunt Zeituni, about whom he reminisces fondly in his best-selling “Dreams From My Father,” to live in a South Boston slum, as exposed by the Times of London this week? While Obama was swimming in well over $600 million in cash contributions, his underprivileged Kenyan-born auntie actually sent his campaign a modest donation.

A 2003 Associated Press story profiling poor people who buy lottery tickets at check-cashing stores apparently quotes Obama’s Aunt Zeituni, describing her as unemployed and cash-strapped.

Obama’s Uncle Omar, also described affectionately in his book, was apparently evicted from his Boston home in 2000 after losing his job. Then there is Obama’s 26-year-old half brother, George Hussein Onyango Obama, discovered by the Italian edition of Vanity Fair to be living in a hovel near Nairobi, claiming to earn “less than a dollar a month.”

It’s funny how Obama can sell his memoir exploiting his relatives and humanize himself for voters, yet be too busy getting ready to change the world to be there for them when they need a hand…

Who knows how many other poor kinfolk Obama has relegated to the shadows. Perhaps, like his Aunt, they have all been instructed to keep their lips sealed. It is very striking to note, again, how controlling Obama is. How obfuscating and evasive he is about his past.

Speaking outside her home in Flaherty Way, South Boston, on Tuesday, Ms Onyango, 56, confirmed she was the “Auntie Zeituni” in Mr Obama’s memoir. She declined to answer most other questions about her relationship with the presidential contender until after the November 4 election. “I can’t talk about it, I just pray for him, that’s all,” she said, adding: “After the 4th, I can talk to anyone.” (Source)

Michelle Obama, while unleashed, provided ample evidence that she doesn’t walk her talk. Her stilted attempt to assume the role of a “proud American” has been unconvincing. But she is a fine fit for her brooding husband, her anger fueling his perpetual angst. Her laughable pose of righteous indignation when being called out for her hypocrisy falls flat and flaccid when measured next to the thinly veiled antipathy of her words. And her words are simply the stale rhetoric of her political class, void of authenticity, trading in lies. She indeed is her husbands match.

That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Under a three-book deal which he subsequently-signed, he stands to earn at least £1million.

To Joe Novak, this only goes to prove that Michelle is distorting reality when she attempts to depict herself as a champion of the masses.

“For the past year (she and Barack) have jetted around the country with Oprah Winfrey and Robert De Niro, enjoying penthouse parties and living the high life,” he said.

Perhaps…. she genuinely may think that her childhood was impoverished. And the one thing that is certain about the incredible Mrs O is that she never intends to have to live that way again.

I have to say, I’ve come to respect the Hillary camp. Be they called PUMAs or McCain Democrats, they know campaigning, and they know their stuff. So I’d give this following admonition some serious consideration.

This is really intended for Republicans who did not follow the primaries on the Democrats’ side this year (because, well, we guess you took a nice long Atlantis cruise to Mars, in which case, color us jealous).

The same pattern that unfolded during our primaries is happening again, because the media has just one tattered old used playbook (written by David Axelrod, of course), and they have not deviated from it yet. What the media and Obama campaign did, in concert, to Hillary Clinton before every major primary is what they are doing to McCain/Palin now. Here are the top three media/Obama head tricks to watch out for in the last days before the election.

If you, collectively, can keep Republicans and other McCain voters from falling for these, we believe there’s nothing Obama can do to win this election. The ONLY way McCain loses is if you Eeyores allow the media to keep you from the polls.

Obama’s ‘Redistributive Change’ and the Death of Freedom

Freedom accepts that we are different. The endless variety of life assures that. I had every opportunity to become just as good a basketball player as Michael Jordan, but he has natural gifts and worked harder. If we played a hundred times, he would whip me a hundred times by about 500 points. No Change, no matter how rapturously framed, could alter that result without chaining him to the bench and rendering the game no longer recognizable as basketball. That would be perversion, not justice.

Yet, this is just what Obama’s “economic justice” envisions: that the government can hamstring Michael Jordan and give me enough freebies that, despite his talent and industry, he can only play me to a tie, destroying his incentive to excel while the Bulls go out of business, no longer able to afford even my mediocrity. Naturally, such an absurd system requires change. Redistribution smothers the freedom our Constitution is designed to foster. It is therefore antithetical to our law.

No amount of ignorance, stupidity, or wishful thinking will change the reality that there are people who are prepared to kill you and your family for no good reason at all. Barack Obama: An Extremely Flawed Man

He is a man who is not forthcoming, imbued with the arrogance to presume that he has no obligation to answer his critics, and the pomposity to expect that respect will be given to him for no other reason than that he demands it. He can only be genuinely proud within the closed world of his fellow travelers, for nothing about his life engenders admiration outside of that inner circle of hell.

Because Americans do not like liars, and that Obama most assuredly is. I can picture Obama as a POW, and all I can see is a man cowering, shivering, begging. There is no mettle in him, no soul, no spine. Just whine, whine, whine. No wonder he is a hit in the ‘hood.

McCain an open book; Obama’s cover closed

It is from this framework that I have realized that I cannot trust Barack Obama. The questions surrounding Obama related to his dealings with Bill Ayers, Toni Rezko, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the Rev. Michael Phleger, Raila Odinga, Franklin Raines, Fannie Mae (Obama received the second-highest amount of money from it), ACORN and the Annenberg Foundation to name a few are concerning. In addition, his lack of candor and consistency related to these associations question his trustworthiness. Moreover, one must factor in the inability to gain access to Obama-related background information, such as health records, official papers from his tenure as a Illinois state legislator such as letters from lobbyists, correspondences, a simple appointment calendar. Also, lack of attorney-client history, college records from Occidental, Columbia or Harvard such as transcripts and grades (this was a big issue for Bush during his campaign, not so much with Obama), application to the Illinois state bar, names of small donors giving $200 or less to his campaign ($300 million that has been raised by Obama in small amounts) draws more question on trust, this from the “transparent and open” candidate. What is he hiding?

Similar information related to John McCain is easy to acquire and readily available.

Sarkozy views Obama stance on Iran as ‘utterly immature’

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is very critical of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama’s positions on Iran, according to reports that have reached Israel’s government.

Sarkozy has made his criticisms only in closed forums in France. But according to a senior Israeli government source, the reports reaching Israel indicate that Sarkozy views the Democratic candidate’s stance on Iran as “utterly immature” and comprised of “formulations empty of all content.”

Obama visited Paris in July, and the Iranian issue was at the heart of his meeting with Sarkozy. At a joint press conference afterward, Obama urged Iran to accept the West’s proposal on its nuclear program, saying that Iran was creating a serious situation that endangered both Israel and the West.

According to the reports reaching Israel, Sarkozy told Obama at that meeting that if the new American president elected in November changed his country’s policy toward Iran, that would be “very problematic.”

Until now, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany have tried to maintain a united front on Iran. But according to the senior Israeli source, Sarkozy fears that Obama might “arrogantly” ignore the other members of this front and open a direct dialogue with Iran without preconditions.

Following their July meeting, Sarkozy repeatedly expressed disappointment with Obama’s positions on Iran, concluding that they were “not crystallized, and therefore many issues remain open,” the Israeli source said. Advisors to the French president who held separate meetings with Obama’s advisors came away with similar impressions and expressed similar disappointment.

Premature Presidency

Senator Barack Obama’s recurring habit of interfering in U.S. relations with foreign nations represents more than petty, cheap shot politics. It appears to be a violation of the Logan Act.

Established in 1799, the Logan Act made it a crime for any U.S. citizen to engage in activities “with any foreign government … in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States.” The act even prohibits members of Congress from acting unilaterally.

The report of Obama’s attempt last June to obstruct the negotiation of a status of forces agreement between the U.S. and Iraq is exactly the type of interference the Logan Act outlawed. According to Samir Sumaidaie, the Iraqi ambassador to the U.S., Obama “urged Iraq to delay the [memorandum of understanding] between Iraq and the United States until the new administration was in place.”

Obama’s desire to withdraw all U.S. forces from Iraq in 16 months is exactly the development the demoralized and virtually defeated Al Qaeda in Iraq could use to reconstitute and reenergize its force of terrorist fighters. The Obama plan would snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. In spite of how completely wrong such a strategy would be, occupying the presidency would give Obama the right to implement such a plan. That is, unless Congress were to enact legislation over an Obama veto that would block his hurried withdrawal plan.

However, Obama is not the president and possibly may not become the president in 2009. To send mixed signals and undermine current foreign relations strategies by negotiating a side deal is unstatesmanlike, at the very least, and perhaps illegal.

Widespread press accounts of Obama’s activities in support of Kenya’s opposition candidate Raila Odinga in August 2006 and again earlier this year indicate he was meddling in state affairs that have a direct bearing on U.S. relations.

This nect piece suggests to me what all American citizens will face, to one degree or another, in the coming socialist siege. There will be no choices in the territory we are entering.

At Moment of Truth, Where Was Dagny Taggart?

The government officials most responsible for causing the financial crisis ordered the bankers to appear at this meeting, with no explanation of the purpose of the meeting. (“Come on down, we’ll tell everyone at the same time,” Paulson reportedly told Morgan Stanley CEO John Mack.) Isn’t that an astounding thing for a country that thinks of itself as a democratic capitalist society? What if Mr. Mack had said “no thanks”? Would he have been arrested? But as you’ll see in a moment, there was little chance of that happening.

“As the meeting neared a close, each banker was handed a term sheet detailing how the government would take stakes valued at a combined $125 billion in their banks, and impose new restrictions on executive pay and dividend policies.” The bankers were told “they weren’t allowed to negotiate. Mr. Paulson requested that each of them sign. It was for their own good, and the good of the country, he said, according to a person in the room.”

My mind reels. A command appearance before government regulators was followed by a command (not a “request”) surrender of autonomy by the nine biggest banks in the U.S. A forced “sale” of preferred shares to the government was ordered in return for billions of newly minted dollars from the Fed with instructions that it immediately be loaned out to “thaw” the frozen credit markets.

Surely this wasn’t happening in America. The very notion of bureaucrats telling business leaders what they must do “for their own good, and the good of the country” makes me want to throw up. Preposterous. By what authority? How would they know? What conceit!

How did America’s leading bankers react? Did they laugh in the regulators’ faces, tear up the “term sheets,” and storm out of the room? Did they hold press conferences condemning this high-handed and obviously unconstitutional attempt to intimidate and steal private assets? Not exactly.

A West Hollywood Halloween display showing a likeness of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin hanging by a noose has caused a furor among some residents who reported it as a hate crime, authorities said Monday.

But Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said the mannequin sporting a beehive hairdo, glasses and a red coat does not rise to the level of a hate crime because it was part of a Halloween display.

“I’m not defending this; I’m not criticizing it. It doesn’t rise to the level of hate crime,” said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, who said he went out to the house himself to look at the display this morning.

If bad taste were a crime, California would be one large penal colony, but, that’s not the point. “Hate crime” is a ludicrous construct scraped from the lunatic liberal’s fetid brain. Hate is not a crime. Sweetheart, if I punch you out, it ain’t going to be with love in my heart. My hatred is implicit, it is understood. It doesn’t make your bloody nose any more severely traumatized for the hatred invested in it’s assault. So arrest me for assault, but do not give me any song and dance about hatred. Especially if punching out a white guy is considered less hateful than punching out a black or a gay.

I am sure the twat who hung Sarah in effigy hasn’t one fond thought for the woman. And that is fine by me. But do not turn around and tell me that if i put a noose around an Obama and Michelle effigy, I’d get the same blase response from the arbiters of social justice. Typical of the libs, there is one rule for them, and another set of rules for those who do not subscribe to their touchy-feely notion of goodness. It’s perfectly acceptable to hate Palin, but let one noose show up around dark pigmentation, and eeeeewww, it’s mean old nasty hate.

Stick it to Obama

But hey, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe if I just throw out this Obama voodoo doll, and describe how I will stick a pin through it every time I have to be subjected to Obama’s voice or picture, the La Slimes will deem it as tasteless, but certainly not a hate crime.

And they’d be partially wrong. I’ll stick those pins in with a vengeance because I truly do hate everything about Obama. But hating him is not a crime, though, no doubt, it will be soon. And I will still keep sticking those pins through his likeness and unless I take that into reality and stick one into his fat ass, they can just take their hate crime nonsense and shove it where all the rest of their politically correct palaver issues from.

I do wish someone in the neighborhood would hang Obama and Michelle in effigy. The contrast in how that would be perceived compared to the Palin display would be a textbook study in “progressive” hypocrisy.

The Obama Way: Intimidation, Indoctrination, Religious Police,Your Children

So, the Obamanites in Ohio abuse their power to peruse Joe the Plumber’s files, Sarah Palin is hung in effigy, and the acolytes for the “One” erect a guillotine for Bush in one of their Obama rallies….but it’s the Republicans that are deranged by hatred?

And then there is more intimidation from Obama’s legal strong arms, this latest incident a none to subtle attempt to dissuade a student from investigating ongoing, ACORN initiated voter fraud in Ohio – yet one more assault on free speech rendered by the Obama “Truth Squads”.

I can not help but think what astounding similarities these Obamanites share with Islam’s religious police, rendering punishment whenever offense is given, correcting non conforming behavior – Obama’s Youth Corp will no doubt be churning out thousands of these pathetic, gutted automatons. They’ll have no fealty to country, nurture no love for family, or ever be permitted to think one original thought. All is sacrificed – soul, sanity, and will – to serve “The One” for the “greater good”.

Obama is reaching out to your kids again. Obama likely drools over the thought of educating the children, at least the ones that survive their mother’s wombs.

In the words of Senator Barack Obama, the “Obama for America Campaign is a different type of campaign”. For the first time in campaign history, children ages 12 and under, have a place to go and actually vote—through their voice. What a great way to be introduced to politics and to express your support for Senator Obama.

The following, quite frankly, curdles my blood. I remember being repelled to my core when I first read of Hitler’s Youth – children indoctrinated to spy on their parents, to see their parents as “other”. How could I have ever imagined that one day my grandchildren would face the same specter, not because America was conquered, but because we elected a man who has all the makings of a fascist tyrant.

Yes. Change came to my homeland as the new leader promised it would.

The teachers in German schools began to teach the children to sing songs in praise of Hitler. This was the beginning of the Hitler Youth movement. It began with praise of the Fuhrer’s programs on the lips of innocent children. Hymns in praise of Hitler and his programs were being sung in the schoolrooms and in the playyard. Little girls and boys joined hands and sang these songs as they walked home from school.

My brother came home and told Papa what was happening at school. The political hymns of children proclaimed Change was coming to our homeland and the Fuhrer was a leader we could trust.

I will never forget my father’s face. Grief and fear. He knew that the best propaganda of the Nazis was song on the lips of little children.

That evening before he said grace at the dinner table, he placed his hands upon the heads of my brothers and me and prayed the Living Word upon us from Jeremiah 1:4-5…

‘Now the Word of the Lord came to me, saying,
“Before I formed you in the
Womb I knew you,
And before you were born I
Consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to
The nations.”

Soon the children’s songs praising the Fuhrer were heard everywhere on the streets and over the radio. “With our Fuhrer to lead us, we can do it! We can change the world!”

If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court. I think where it succeeded was to invest formal rights in previously dispossessed people, so that now I would have the right to vote. I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order as long as I could pay for it I’d be o.k. But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf, and that hasn’t shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendancy to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that.

Pretend it just happened. That’s the thrust of a new video from a liberal, pro-Obama group.

As polls show the presidential race tightening in swing states such as Pennsylvania and Florida, MoveOn.org is pressing a get-out-the-vote message with a “funny, scary video” showing people “what it might look like if we lose the election by a single vote.”

The video includes the name of the email recipient, making it look like Susan Jones in my case was the non-voter who cost Obama the election.

“U.S. elections are always close, but the nation was shocked Tuesday night to see John McCain defeat Barack Obama by a single vote,” intones a mock anchorman in the MoveOn.org video.

“For many, shock soon turned to outrage as The New York Times revealed the identity of the particular non-voter responsible for Obama’s loss,” the “anchorman” says, as the non-voter’s name appears in font on the “TV screen.”

“In just a few short days, this private citizen has become a national pariah,” the anchorman says. The video explains that police take the non-voter into protective custody, it shows Obama supporters letting loose with bleeped invective, and it includes soundbites from President Bush and Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly favorite targets of the left thanking the non-voter for being patriotic.

“Coming up – how long until we nuke Iran? Experts say it could be as early as Saturday,” the anchorman concludes, implying that John McCain will have his finger on the trigger, thanks to the single non-voter who cost Obama the election.

In an email message introducing the video, MoveOn.org lists some of the excuses people use for failing to go to the polls: “Oversleeping. Getting the car fixed. Having to pick up the second-cousin’s stepkids on the other side of town.”

People want to vote, they know they should vote, and they intend to vote: “But some of your friends won’t get around to actually voting because they haven’t been reminded vividly enough.” the message said.

Obama himself has warned voters against complacency, apparently with good reason.

Among its factual assertions are these developed in Congressional hearings: * From 2004-2006 ACORN has received $4.6 million in federal funds for its Housing Corporation. * ACORN has 150 subsidiary organizations with a total operating budget of over $110 million this year. * All the 150 subsidiaries operate from the top as a single enterprise, including the nonprofit Project Vote and the political operation known as Citizens Services. * Citizens Services has endorsed Barack Obama and has received over $832,000 from Obama’s campaign during the primary period for services. * ACORN and Citizen’s Services share the same board of directors. They also share office space in New Orleans. The suit documents numerous instances of in-state predicate acts, including the following: * Forgery, uttering forged documents, tampering with writings and records. * Harassing people to encourage them to register multiple times; bribing people to register multiple times; registering non-existent and clearly ineligible voters (like minors); registering the same person in multiple counties; providing fraudulent and forged documents. Politics Obama Style: In Your Face

Twenty-five residents of a Gainesville neighborhood woke up this morning to discover their homes had been spray-painted with an obscene comment about the 2008 presidential race. Several businesses were hit as well.

“This is clear voter intimidation,” Corey A. Stewart, At-Large Chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, said. “The residents targeted by these hoodlums all had McCain for President yard signs in their front yards.”

From The Daily Telegraph, this is live footage shot in 1904 in Edwardian London.

The film was shot in 1904 as a ‘travelogue’ for Australians curious about life in what was “one of the most exciting cities anywhere”, according to Professor Ian Christie.

He discovered the 12 minute reel while trawling through archives in Canberra.

Prof Christie said: “It’s a rather clever mixture of what we would expect to see – such as the Embankment, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square – but it also has these wonderful close ups of individuals.

“There’s an old lady sleeping rough on a bench, children encouraging a dog to swim in the Thames, children paddling in one of the ponds in St James’s Park.”

But some things never change.

“There’s a wonderful shot of roadworks on the Strand,” he said. “The catalogue says, ‘Street up as usual’. Road works were obviously a common feature of London in 1904 too.”

Other scenes show roads packed with horse-drawn traffic, the city “absolutely teeming with people”, fish traders at Billingsgate Market and shoe-shiners in the West End.

The footage, shot of 35mm film, also shows subtle insights into life such as the way people walked, he added.

The academic, professor of film and media history at Birkbeck College in London, said the film, called Living London, was shot by pioneering Anglo-American film-maker Charles Urban.

It was a big hit in Australia with audiences who had either emigrated or had never seen the land of their forefathers.

“It wasn’t easy to hop on a plane then,” he said.

An advertisement for the film displayed in small-town Australia read: “Sites along a route on the most important thoroughfare in London, not merely showing street scenes but incredible ‘Snapshots’ of the various human types, their different occupations and pleasures.”

Prof Christie said it was a “fascinating panorama of life in London at the beginning of the last century”.

The fragment was probably only about a quarter of the whole film, he said.

Living London is one of 15 archive films about the capital to be shown on Friday evening (October 24).

The programme of short films, collectively titled London Loves, will be screened in Trafalgar Square at 6.30pm.

The event is part of the London Film Festival , which runs until October 30.

Not a motor vehicle in sight but it looks just as congested as now.

Obama, Oprah and ‘The Secret’.

We’ve had ‘Hope and Change’, ‘The One’, the Rally in Berlin, the Styrofoam Grecian Temple, Air Obama with it’s seat labeled President, the fake Presidential Great Seal, references to himself as President and now, before the people have decided who will be the next President, we have already The Inaugural Address.

Cut now to Oprah and her promotion of the book The Secret.

Steve Martin used to do a routine that went like this: “You too can be a millionaire! It’s easy: First, get a million dollars. Now…”

If you put that routine between hard covers, you’d have “The Secret,” the self-help manifesto and bottle of minty-fresh snake oil currently topping the bestseller lists. “The Secret” espouses a “philosophy” patched together by an Australian talk-show producer named Rhonda Byrne. Though “The Secret” unabashedly appropriates and mishmashes familiar self-help clichés, it was still the subject of two recent episodes of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” featuring a dream team of self-help gurus, all of whom contributed to the project.

The main idea of “The Secret” is that people need only visualize what they want in order to get it — and the book certainly has created instant wealth, at least for Rhonda Byrne and her partners-in-con. And the marketing idea behind it — the enlisting of that dream team, in what is essentially a massive, cross-promotional pyramid scheme — is brilliant. But what really makes “The Secret” more than a variation on an old theme is the involvement of Oprah Winfrey, who lends the whole enterprise more prestige, and, because of that prestige, more venality, than any previous self-help scam. Oprah hasn’t just endorsed “The Secret”; she’s championed it, put herself at the apex of its pyramid, and helped create a symbiotic economy of New Age quacks that almost puts OPEC to shame.

They call it the Law of Attraction, the idea that if you just want something you will attract it to you and bingo you will have it. Didn’t work for Hillary, probably she’s not quite infantile enough to believe in fairy tales. She could though have taken a tip from the physicist who had a horseshoe on the wall over his desk. His colleague Niels Bohr saw it and said, “I didn’t know you were superstitious”. “Oh I’m not”, said the physicist, “but I’ve been told it works whether you believe it or not”.

The Americanization Of Iraq

October 23, 2008: Many Iraqis have become infatuated with the American military. Not just the efficiency with which they fight, but also how they go out of their way to avoid civilian casualties, and try to help Iraqis recover from decades of tyranny and terrorism. This doesn’t get a lot of publicity, but it is changing Iraq on a fundamental level.

The new Iraqi Army wants to be just like their American counterparts. Iraqi military uniforms look very much like the U.S. ones. The weapons and vehicles are the same. And the Iraqis are emulating how U.S. troops move, as well as how they look. In combined operations, it’s often difficult to tell, at a glance, who are the Americans, and who are the Iraqis. More than once, during a firefight, an American soldier dives for cover next to what he thinks is another G.I. But when he talks to the other “American”, he comes face-to-face with an Iraqi face talking back to him in Arabic. Fortunately, both armies use the same hand signals (a form of sign language used during combat, when voice commands cannot be heard, or when you want to maintain silence.) So the two will communicate with hand signs and get on with the battle.

Iraqis also noticed that the U.S. concept of “Civil Affairs” (soldiers trained to work with civilians in a war zone) worked. So now Iraq has its own civil affairs troops, who usually operate with their American counterparts. This has worked very well, especially in Sunni and Shia radical neighborhoods where anti-Americanism is still alive and well. Iraq is still divided by religious and political differences, and the Iraqi civil affairs specialists see themselves as having lots to do for a long time.

More importantly, many Iraqis are trying to emulate U.S. military bureaucracy. While these administrators get little respect from the combat troops, they are seen by Iraqis as paragons of modernity and efficiency. That they are, which is one reason the U.S. combat troops are so effective. The right supplies tend to get to the right place at the right time. In Iraq, that rarely happens, not in the civilian world, or the military. Iraqi commanders have noticed how the American military support organizations operate, and want to set up Iraqi equivalents. That’s a difficult chore, mainly because of the corruption that is endemic to the region. But at least there’s a trend, an effort to not just look like Western troops, but to administer the military organizations in the same way.

This more than anything is why the Iraq war was fought, to drag the Middle East Arab countries out of the quagmire that they have been in for centuries which could no longer be tolerated in our age of horrific weaponry and modern communications.
Tell the left that the consequences of a just war can give real fuzzy warm feelings, unlike the kitsch kind that they so love to wallow in, peace and love not war and all the other juvenilia that they have yet to grow out of. I wonder if John Lennon whose talents did so much to promote such crap would have grown out of it, I like to think he would have, he was a very realistic fellow when he started out. Between the drugs, Maharishi and Yoko, he went more than a little round the bend.

Barack Obama’s Comfort Zone

No one had given any thought to economics. How are you going to clothe and feed these people? The only thing that I could get was that they expected that the Cubans, the North Vietnamese, the Chinese and the Russians would all want to occupy different portions of the United States.
They also believed that their immediate responsibility would be to protect against what they called the counter-revolution. And they felt that this counter-revolution could best be guarded against by creating and establishing re-education in the Southwest where we would take all of the people who needed to be re-educated into the new way of thinking and teach them how things were going to be.
I asked, “Well, what is going to happen to those people that we can’t re-educate, that are die-hard capitalists?” And the reply was that they’d have to be eliminated and when I pursued this further, they estimated that they’d have to eliminate 25 million people in these re-education centers. And when I say eliminate, I mean kill 25 million people. I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of whom have graduate degrees from Columbia and other well-known educational centers and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people and they were dead serious.
AYERS IS DEAD SERIOUS ABOUT HIS ‘SOCIAL JUSTICE’

Ayers, and those of his ilk, are deformed and ugly men, of that there is no doubt – at least that’s how they appear to those of us who have been spared a life in the rarefied atmosphere of academia where, apparently, all manner of venal and vapid humans are regularly elevated to demi-god status.

This blog and hundreds of others have documented Obama’s comfort level with the ideology espoused by Ayers, an affinity also made evident by Obama’s lengthy roster of radical mentors and his continuous associations with the breed throughout his life. By now, most know that Obama’s choices in life display a pattern of beliefs and behaviors that are congruent with the teachings of Wright’s liberation theology, compatible with the politics by intimidation, as taught by Alinsky (and practiced by ACORN), and a good fit with the self-loathing Ayers’s obsessive hatred for America and his own pigmentation.

These are waters in which Obama has swum from the time he was in his leftist mother’s womb until today. This is his comfort zone. He was never a fish out of those waters and Ayers did not appear to him to be a predator, but a familiar species of fish. Obama may have been 8 when Ayer’s was playing at being a big-bad-bomber-boy, but by the time Ayers formed a relationship with him, Obama had matured into a man after Ayer’s own heart, of that I have no doubt. No, the waters Obama swims in, he is well acclimated to, and the sharks and predators that swim with him are familiar friends.

It’s when he is tries so hard to appear as if he were made of presidential “stuff” that he flounders like a fish out of water. A fish that needs countless handlers, puppet masters, truth squads, ACORN creatures, voter fraud, and millions in questionable campaign contributions – and a steady supply of teleprompters. He is definitely out of his depths when pretending a reverence for America and he is obviously swimming against the current when trying to pass himself off as someone who knows, or gives a damn, about capitalism.

The only time that Barack Obama makes sense is when you place him in his natural habitat. A world where unrequited race angst is a sign of divinity, where the nurture of bitter envy is an art form, where the hunger for power and payback are blood to the body and sustenance for the soul.

In the end, Barack Obama is common, very much the banal malcontent that we have seen since the sixties produced that ubiquitous mold. That America should deem him fit for the crown says more about our spiritual and moral derangement than it says about the character of the man who would be king. That any American should believe that Barack Obama gives a damn about “Joe the Plumber”, speaks to our inane refusal to comprehend that men who can disinterestedly ponder the execution of a quarter million “die-hard capitalists” are very much real, very powerful and they ain’t about to redistribute that power to your, or me, or Joe.

Obama is also part of a long tradition on the left of being for the working class in the abstract, or as people potentially useful for the purposes of the left, but having disdain or contempt for them as human beings.

Karl Marx said, “The working class is revolutionary or it is nothing.” In other words, they mattered only in so far as they were willing to carry out the Marxist agenda.

Fabian socialist George Bernard Shaw included the working class among the “detestable” people who “have no right to live.” He added: “I should despair if I did not know that they will all die presently, and that there is no need on earth why they should be replaced by people like themselves.”

Ever since the word “socialism” was brought up in the campaign by “Joe the Plumber,” to whom Obama said he intends to “spread the wealth around,” there has been much discussion among pundits about what the word “socialism” really means, and whether or not it’s a bad thing.

Without the amazing tenacity of these individuals, (and a few unnamed), connecting the dots of the socialist agenda for the “New Democratic Party” would not have been accomplished. I have tried to organize the articles in the series based on the timeline I have been able to put together according to all the research that has been provided. I am sure there are gaps and possible inconsistencies that will be pointed out by my astute readers, as we are all trying to piece this puzzle together from the smoke and mirrors that Barack Obama has created to hide his true past and real agenda. We were all very fortunate when he spoke recently with Joe (the plumber) and showed America what we have been coming to learn about him for months.

Allow us to put our cards on the table at the outset: We are two young conservative journalists—both in our 20s. Unlike many of our peers, we are not swept up in Obamamania and would prefer John McCain to win the election. We’ve teamed up with seasoned blogger extraordinaire, Ed Morrissey, whose careful and thoughtful pursuit of the truth—even when it benefits his political opponents—is respected across the blogosphere. In that spirit, we are not at all interested in perpetuating lies, rumors, and innuendo about Barack Obama. Promoting such information does America a disservice, allows Obama’s supporters to justifiably cry “smear,” and damages our own credibility.

What follows is by no means comprehensive, but it does shed some much-needed light on a number of Obama’s positions, statements, and associations about which he has been less than honest. We’ve attempted to boil each issue down to a succinct explanation with an accompanying, brief video clip—often starring Barack Obama in his own words. Before pulling the lever for someone who hopes voters will ignore his paper-thin resume, unsavory associations, and hard-left voting record, each citizen has a duty to do his due diligence.

In short, we hope this “closing argument” is compelling and clear, and we encourage you to share this essay with undecided or wavering family members, friends, and co-workers.

A 23-year-old Michigan man has admitted to plotting to set off a homemade bomb in the tunnels near the Xcel Energy Center, hoping it would cause a power failure and prompt cancellation of the Republican National Convention.

He said that if he could bomb the Xcel Center on Sept. 1, “they might call off the convention.”

He added that a “power outage would say a lot” and that it was his “main purpose.” DePalma also said that he would like to bomb the Xcel Energy Center on Sept. 4 so that the convention would “end with a bang.”

On Aug. 22, DePalma allegedly made two jugs of a homemade napalm-like substance for use in the Molotov cocktails. He was seen traveling to a remote location in Rosemount to allegedly assemble and test the Molotov cocktails.

Coleman, 4 other Congress members have property damaged

When Laurie Coleman, wife of U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, hauled her trash to the alley at 7:30 this morning, a chilling sight greeted her.

Spray-painted in black on the wooden siding of the garage in the couple’s Summit Hill neighborhood was this angry graffiti, in letters nearly a foot high: “U R A CRIMINAL RESIGN OR ELSE! PSALM 2″

On the alley side, each double-bay stall door had the word “SCUM” spray painted in black ink, as a did a wooden partition in between.

More “Progressive” Fascism

Administrators at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota–the nation’s largest Catholic women’s college–unexpectedly blocked young conservatives on campus from hosting Bay Buchanan, a popular conservative commentator and U.S. Treasurer under President Reagan. The speech was scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, but was abruptly canceled after college officials deemed Ms. Buchanan’s remarks on “Feminism and the 2008 Election” too politically charged, citing concerns about the school’s tax status. “Because we are a 501(c)(3) organization, the College of St. Catherine has sought to avoid any appearance of partisanship during the 2008 political season,” said College spokesman Julie Michener.

That Ms. Michener can say that with a straight face is remarkable, considering the actions of her school’s program, Voter Education 2008. Program-sponsored seminars have highlighted student agitators protesting the GOP’s convention and featured a representative from the Joint Religious Legislative Task Force, which pushes for universal healthcare and minimum wage increases.

St. Catherine’s student handbook claims, “Students enjoy the collective assurance and protection of free inquiry and open exchange of facts, ideas and openness.” Except, not really. St. Catherine is filtering out ideas it doesn’t want its students to hear.
