Another Lefty.

I had this e-mail from one of my lefty customers who is surprisingly quite a good friend and a hell of a nice fellow.

Hey T, I understand why people was certain views. I even appreciate the basic pro-life arguments (though I am pro-choice). I used to like McCain a few years ago before he sold his beliefs down river to pander to the religious right.
But I have to say that the McCain-Palin bullshit coming out of their mouths now is nothing short of shameful. They truly disgust me.
I cannot believe the US electorate could vote for such hateful and dishonorable candidates. The thought of these two clowns running the world is about as frightening as frightening gets.

To which I replied:

But as Thomas Sowell says in his book, ‘A Conflict of Visions’, both the left and the right want what’s best for society, they just have a different vision of the way to achieve it and so we will be forever talking past each other.

He’s right about one thing, it truly is frightening but not for the reasons he thinks.
