ACORN isn’t responsible for the financial meltdown….

There are many parties culpable but, the underlying engine is the idea that folks have a “right” to housing. The tactics used by ACORN and like groups brought us (starting with Carter through Clinton) to this juncture. The second video, Burning Down The House, does an excellent summary of this. Your side’s denial of the damage done in the name of “equal justice” and “fairness” simply doesn’t fly.

As far as your convenient invocation of God and Jesus, spare me. It’s always amusing when situational Christians draw from the Bible to serve their particular purposes, but totally ignore scripture that invalidates their positions,i.e.,those that point to abortion and homosexuality, promiscuity,avarice, and envy as “sins”. Christians who admonish to avoid those “sins” are perniciously derided as anachronistic,knuckle dragging imbeciles.

Unless you subscribe to all of the tenets of Christianity you ought not attempt to use any of it. And guess what sweetheart, just like the constitution, Christianity ain’t meant to be re-written to serve your purposes.

There is absolutely nothing in scripture that endorses extortion, coercion, or government mandates in dealing with poverty. My guess is that god doesn’t subscribe to wealth redistribution,indeed, the genius and efficiency inherent in what is purported to be his creation, demonstrates he’d likely have no truck with a denigrating system of governance that steals life, suffocates creativity, and erases individual will.

The Christian God, unlike Obama, has a healthy respect for free will. It’s up to the individual to decide whether his monies are directed towards his coffers, or toward the poor,not the government. That which is not freely given from the heart, extracts a price far more enervating than poverty.
