I'm also not sure it was any different in the past, there would always be sick jokes going around I remember when I was young in the fifties, now we have the internet for all the world to see them. The difference is that then it was a guilty laughter they evoked, we knew it was wrong and wouldn't have wanted it known that we even listened to them, whereas these assholes are proud of it, think it puts them above the rubes of the world. They are like unformed teenagers shouting out, 'Look at us, see how grown up we are!'
