Our So-Called Leaders.
The Cato Institute has taken out a newspaper ad that takes issue with Obama’s global warming support and is signed by many distinguished scientists.
“Few challenges facing America and the world are more urgent than combating climate change. The science is beyond dispute and the facts are clear.”
— PRESIDENT-ELECT BARACK OBAMA, NOVEMBER 19 , 2008
With all due respect Mr. President, that is not true. We, the undersigned scientists, maintain that the case for alarm regarding climate change is grossly overstated. Surface temperature changes over the past century have been episodic and modest and there has been no net global warming for over a decade now.1,2 After controlling for population growth and property values, there has been no increase in damages from severe weather-related events.3 The computer models forecasting rapid temperature change abjectly fail to explain recent climate behavior.4 Mr. President, your characterization of the scientific facts regarding climate change and the degree of certainty informing the scientific debate is simply incorrect.
On the one hand I don’t get it, these people like Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, are supposed to be as our leaders, well informed on both sides of the question on all the things they must deal with and yet they are no better than say your local garbage collector who gets his information from the nightly news on CNN. Don’t they have advisors, curiosity, doubts?
On the other hand of course they don’t care about whether something is correct or not, only how it can be used to increase their power, and the imaginary catastrophes, whether global warming or the ‘crisis of capitalism’ only matter as far as they will advance that end.
And they were voted in by those who only get their information from the nightly news on CNN.

Those Evil Europeans
This is just so muslim-like; the destruction of cultural artifacts, the revision of history, the maniacal reach of castrated men seeking power. But then, what doesn’t the left do that isn’t congruous with the goals and tenets of Islam. And we who were not idiotic enough to vote for Obama have long known of his affinity for all things Islamic. An affinity that will only serve to accelerate the pace at which America is being destroyed. So when I read of Chavez’s latest purge of history I can’t help but fear what American treasure the ravenous hordes of Obamanites, along with all their muslim accomplices, will ravage.

Big Bad European
Be that as it may, Chavez, demonizing Christopher Columbus as the bastard who opened the door for all of us vile Europeans, will remove the last remaining statue of that evil explorer. Well, let’s see, Obama already sent the bust of Churchill packing. I have no doubt more of America’s revered personages shall be removed from sight or erased from history simply for the sin of their tainted European blood. But, only Caucasians are racists, don’cha know?
Chavez and Obama are but two heads of a hydra headed socialist serpent coiled in a tightening death grip around the throat of civilization in every Western nation. And still, 1/2 of all Americans applaud their coming slaughter, singing hosannas to the men who wield the swords.
Below is Google’s translation of Cristoforo Colombo? È un genocida, la sua statua va abbattuta

After Colombia, after Israel, Bush, corporations, NGOs, the Spanish king and all the infinite targets chosen by Hugo Chávez Frías for its torrential invective, this week is the time of Christopher Columbus. The fault of the Genoese, who gave life to the greatest geographical discovery of humanity, is to be responsible for “genocide” and “the invasion” by Europeans made in Latin America. It does not matter that Columbus was a sailor and not a visionary by conquistador sword bloody. For Chávez, the fault is attributable to the Genoese, and then the President has supported the removal of his last remaining statue in Caracas with the usual incendiary words: “In its place we must put the statue of an indigenous or un’indigena which suggest road to the liberation of the people and to socialism. “
The act has sparked the anger of many Venezuelans tired of seeing the constant purging of symbols invisible to the president, replaced by personal myths as Che Guevara, Emiliano Zapata or guerrilla Manuel Marulanda of the FARC (the sociologist Carlos Hernandez said that Venezuela is ‘only country that stands a bust to a drug smuggler). Now it remains to be seen what will be the name of colonial Venezuela. Literally means “little Venice” and was inspired by the conquistador Ojeda from Amerigo Vespucci, at which the piles of the Venezuelan coast, the city remembered the Veneto. Probably soon become Bolivarzuela.( http://www.ilgiornale.it/a.pic1?ID=339790 ) (Http://www.ilgiornale.it/a.pic1?ID=339790)

By Asher Moses (Sydney Morning Herald)[1]
The Australian communications regulator’s top-secret blacklist of banned websites has been leaked on to the web and paints a harrowing picture of Australia’s forthcoming internet censorship regime.
Wikileaks, an anonymous document repository for whistleblowers, obtained the list, which has been seen by this website, and plans to publish it for public consumption on its website imminently.
Wikileaks has previously published the blacklists for Thailand, Denmark and Norway.
University of Sydney associate professor Bjorn Landfeldt said the leaked list “constitutes a condensed encyclopedia of depravity and potentially very dangerous material”.
He said the leaked list would become “the concerned parent’s worst nightmare” as curious children would inevitably seek it out.
But about half of the sites on the list are not related to child porn and include a slew of online poker sites, YouTube links, regular gay and straight porn sites, Wikipedia entries, euthanasia sites, websites of fringe religions such as satanic sites, fetish sites, Christian sites, the website of a tour operator and even a Queensland dentist.
“It seems to me as if just about anything can potentially get on the list,” Landfelt said.
The blacklist is maintained by ACMA and provided to makers of internet filtering software that parents can opt to install on their PCs.
However, if the Government proceeds with its mandatory internet filtering scheme, sites on the blacklist will be blocked for all Australians. The Government has flagged plans to expand the blacklist to 10,000 sites or more.
In a special report, written in conjunction with the Internet Industry Association and presented to the Government over a year ago, Landfeldt warned that “list leakage” was one of the main issues associated with maintaining a secret blacklist of prohibited sites.

Hannan and Farage.
I’m a bit late to the party on this You Tube of David Hannan, British MEP, lambasting Gordon Brown in Strasbourg.
That this went viral with 800,000 hits in two days bespeaks I think a hunger for honesty, straight talk and common sense in our politicians. See also the silly grin on Gordon Brown’s face, like a schoolboy caught out in a lie by the housemaster. Must be a Socialist thing because it’s the exact same grin we saw on Obambi’s face in the debates when either Hillary or McCain hit home against him.
There is another You Tube of the speech before DH by Nigel Farage, member of the United Kingdom Independence Party sticking it to Brown.

You Can Hate Me All You Want If….
…if you still go ahead and fight against this type of governmental abuse exercised against law abiding citizens. I don’t see how even raving libtards can stand for this. Need I ask the outrage we’d see displayed were this a conservative doing this? If you are a “progressive” who loathes me, fine. But don’t you want the freedom to revile me, to spew vitriol in my direction, or, at least, to campaign against my kind. So if you allow these type of gestapo tactics to become common in this country – which they are well on their way to becoming under Obama – why would you imagine that they won’t, at some point, be used against you?
The following was written by a gentleman to his Governor, ostensibly a public servant. A legitimate demand resulted in a minor inquisition. Politicians are certainly a toxic breed, a very toxic breed indeed.
Freedom folks? Remember? Screw the economy. If we are silenced when we seek redress for our grievances, what good is a sound dollar?
To whom it may concern:
Attached you will find a letter from me to Governor Jay Nixon. In that letter, I ask Governor Nixon to leave me and my friends alone.
Here is what happened: I filed a Sunshine Request with Nixon on the past Monday, March 23rd at about 10 am. My Sunshine Request stemmed from my concern with Nixon over his MIAC “report” and over his video camera in his office.
By 4 pm on this past Monday, members of law enforcement were showing up at my friends’ homes and asking all kinds of questions about me, about my beliefs, about my habits. I do not think that this is a coincidence that this started right after my request. It has continued until today – so far at least 7 friends or people I know have been visited by law enforcement.
To be clear, I am the kind of person that Nixon’s MIAC profiled: I am a Ron Paul supporter and I have opposed the exansion of the Federal Reserve. And I am generaly conservative. Also, I am sure you know that I am a member of the Missouri Republican Party State Committee. It seems obvious to me that since My Sunshine Request identified my concern about Nixon’s MIAC “report” that profiled people like me that I may be targeted.

Comment of the Day:Cameo of an Acorn Whore
Why do people think home ownership has always been called the American Dream? Not American Entitlement, not American Freebie, but DREAM – something for which you strive, not something that one is given. But the socialists that are rising out of America’s soil like a blight of poisonous weeds seem to think differently. Obama has been playing a siren song that has summoned greed from the heart of a beast most of us didn’t know skulked about in this country. But the lefties knew and they have been cultivating and breeding those skulking souls into ACORN and one such ACORN is Donna Pearce. I ran into this comment listing some of Donna’s stellar performances..
She can be seen posing with Senator Chris Dodd at Acorn headquarters, another picture of her can be seen in this original NY Times article. Donna is a grandmother living in a 2 bedroom condo in bridgeport. You can see in the picture she is starting her grandson out very young in the ways of political activism. Donna’s story was a centerpiece of Chris Dodd’s Op Ed on May 17th 2008. Her story was even covered on ABC World news tonight, but an elderly White woman was used as a stand in for Donna Pearce so as to be politically correct and avoid painting black people as dead beats who default on mortgages. (Link)
Donna has even been used by the Ct AG Dick Blumenthal named as a victim in legal complaints against ‘predatory lending‘. However, in an article “liars into victims” points out that in reality Donna Pearce appears to have lied about her income on mortgage applications…that in signing her mortgage agreement she had to sign off on the income stated on the papers. What these stories also show is that the mob protesting outside of private citizens was most likely rented by none other Chris Dodd Himself as a form of damage control for his contemptful decision to author and vote for the bonus amendment. It is also worth noting the AG Dick Blumenthal has taken the bonus fight to the local level seeking legal action against the AIG executives…These strong personal connections of Chris Dodd to the AIG mob participants suggest the confidentiality of the bonus recipients was violated by Congress. This state sponsored harassment of private citizens convicts the entire democratic congress of a grotesque act of open fascism unlike any seen in my lifetime . It rises to a level of vulgarity equal to the German scapegoating of jewish bankers. via fallout of subprime loans.
ACORN, the masters of voter fraud, the key culprits in the housing boondoggle, Obama’s army of trained Poverty Pimps Extraordinaire, and recipient of billions of bail out money. Change.

Kill Whitey!!
I think Obama should recruit Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva into his cabinet. He is a perfect fit; a cretinous smudge of corrupt flesh , a poverty pimp and a genuine racist. Maybe once Obama completely buries America and assumes his role as king of the world, da Silva can head up the concentration camps.

Kill Whitey
Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Thursday blamed the global economic crisis on “white people with blue eyes” and said it was wrong that black and indigenous people should pay for white people’s mistakes.
Speaking in Brasília at a joint press conference with Gordon Brown, the UK prime minister, Mr Lula da Silva told reporters: “This crisis was caused by the irrational behaviour of white people with blue eyes, who before the crisis appeared to know everything and now demonstrate that they know nothing.”
He added: “I do not know any black or indigenous bankers so I can only say [it is wrong] that this part of mankind which is victimized more than any other should pay for the crisis.” (Source)
I tell ya what, at this stage of the game I am thinking that the next time we “white folks” have an opportunity to help “people of color” rise up out of the muck, perhaps we ought to think twice about it. It seems that the end results are less than fortuitous. The jealous little pricks are turning on us like rabid dogs.

David Warren on Shamanism.
Both, alike, confuse words with things, and imagine by manipulating words they can manipulate reality. They believe things like public order and safety just happen without human intervention — that they grow on trees, like money. And that the source of all evil is the unfair distribution, of money in particular. They are given to magical invocations when things go wrong, and to other behaviour that would be more clearly identified as shamanistic, were it not instead identified as “liberal” and “progressive.”
Unable to fathom the mysterious reality of evil, and its contamination of all human nature, they create scapegoats who can be blamed for any disturbance of their peace, and then ritually cast them out. For instance, when suddenly impinged upon by terrorists, or by bank failures for that matter, they consult the entrails of birds (or equivalent), and select “Bush” and “Cheney” to be demonized, assigning them qualities worse even than those of the perpetrators of such things. Then a shaman, named Barack Obama, is selected for his charismatic personal qualities, to purify the public domain.

Time for something amusing.
Well I think it is!
………………………..
When I was young [here we go - Ed.] there was this expression, ‘When one door closes, another one opens.’ I heard on the radio this morning yet again, ‘When a door closes, a window opens.’ How do these things get started and how come people just say them without a thought that they are meaningless, in this case because doors and windows even metaphorically have different functions?
Another one is ‘To have your cake and eat it too’ which only makes sense in its proper form which is, ‘To eat your cake and have it too’.
Even when using stock phrases, to not be conscious of what you’re saying renders them and the point you’re making meaningless.
………………………….
Here in Toronto, the Liberal La La Land of the North, each year a survey is conducted by the city to determine the number of homeless people here with a view I suppose to ‘better serve their needs’, in other words to justify getting more money to provide jobs conducting a survey on the number of homeless people here. You won’t believe this:
TORONTO — The city is giving $100 pre-paid Visa cards to people who agree to pretend they’re homeless when Toronto conducts its needs assessment of those without shelter.
In an e-mail sent out last week to different social agencies and individuals, city employee Monica Waldman said they are looking for “tons” of people to sign up to be “decoys” on April 15, the night scheduled for the city’s second homeless head count.
“Decoys are essentially ‘faux’ homeless people for quality assurance purposes in this research,” she wrote. “As a decoy, you would need to come to a 30-minute training session and then be deployed to various sites throughout the city where you will wait to be approached by the research volunteers.”
Say no more!
……………………
And something to think about, The New Humanism by Roger Scruton the British conservative philosopher.
The family in which I was raised was, in the matter of religion, typical of postwar England. There was no objection to the children receiving Christian instruction at school, and performing there a daily act of worship. There was no objection to chapel and Sunday school—indeed, provided these institutions were gloomy enough, my parents thought, their children could only be improved by them. But the home was a religion-free zone: no grace before meals, no prayers at bedtime, and the Bible wedged firmly on the shelf between the Oxford Dictionary and Winston Churchill’s History of the Second World War. Our parents called themselves humanists. They had been raised as Christians, but had lived through the Second World War and lost faith in the God who permitted it. They regarded humanism as a residual option, once faith had dissolved. It was not something to make a song and dance about, still less something to impose on others, but simply the best they could manage in the absence of God.

Don’t remember if I posted on this before [it's getting late!] but anyway, Thank God America Isn’t Like Europe …….Yet, by Charles Murray is worth a little of your time.
Drive through rural Sweden, as I did a few years ago. In every town was a beautiful Lutheran church, freshly painted, on meticulously tended grounds, all subsidized by the Swedish government. And the churches are empty. Including on Sundays. The nations of Scandinavia and Western Europe pride themselves on their “child-friendly” policies, providing generous child allowances, free day-care centers and long maternity leaves. Those same countries have fertility rates far below replacement and plunging marriage rates. They are countries where jobs are most carefully protected by government regulation and mandated benefits are most lavish. And with only a few exceptions, they are countries where work is most often seen as a necessary evil, and where the proportions of people who say they love their jobs are the lowest.
Call it the Europe Syndrome. Last April I had occasion to speak in Zurich, where I made some of these same points. Afterward, a few of the 20-something members of the audience came up and said plainly that the phrase “a life well-lived” did not have meaning for them. They were having a great time with their current sex partner and new BMW and the vacation home in Majorca, and they saw no voids in their lives that needed filling.
It was fascinating to hear it said to my face, but not surprising. It conformed to both journalistic and scholarly accounts of a spreading European mentality that goes something like this: Human beings are a collection of chemicals that activate and, after a period of time, deactivate. The purpose of life is to while away the intervening time as pleasantly as possible.
That isn’t sad, it’s downright depressing. The depth of people’s stupidity is inversely proportional to their comfort level.

pay them $1 million a piece severance with stipulations:
1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings – Unemployment fixed.
2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.
3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage- Housing Crisis fixed.
All this and it’s still cheaper than the “bailout”.

Democrats = Children.
The US is at present governed by the equivalent of a bunch of sixteen year olds. [No offense intended to sixteen year olds, they aren't conducting foreign policy, they're doing what they should, still learning.]
Reading All Along the Watchtower by Mario Loyola at National Review prompted that statement.
There are so many instances of the Democrats unseriousness that I’d have to quote the whole article to list them, but a couple of examples:
Colombia appears to have turned the corner against the FARC, and to some extent also in the drug war. The once-nightmarish city of Medellín has become a showcase of President Alvaro Uribe’s success in fighting the enemies of democracy in his own country. Combining “people power,” through civil society and cultural programs, with “alliance power,” through the U.S.-sponsored Plan Colombia, Uribe has been a rare success in our hemisphere’s War on Terror. But Plan Colombia has now largely run its course. Meanwhile, the narco-radical forces continue to get stronger, and President Obama’s left-wing base has weakened America’s support for Colombia at a critical juncture. The travesty of our failure to pass the Colombia Free Trade Agreement remains a serious self-inflicted wound in our fight against terrorism, a clear sign that the U.S. government has yet to grasp the gravity of the situation facing us in Latin America — or the precious value of allies in dealing with it.
According to U.S. officials, Mexico now ranks with Iran and Pakistan as among the top threats to U.S. national security — but there are few indications that U.S. policy actually gives Mexico anything like the high priority it deserves. The U.S. has lavished about $10 billion on Pakistan’s military since 2001. We are about to send some $900 million to Gaza for reconstruction assistance, and Congress recently refused to require that the money doesn’t wind up enriching Hamas. But to help our friends in Mexico fight narco-terrorism in their own country so that we don’t have to face it here at home, we can manage only a pittance of barely $500 million over several years — a pittance sweetened with insults.
When the Bush Administration’s Merida Initiative — a baby step in the annals of security cooperation — came before Congress last year, some Democrats insisted that money needed for sophisticated helicopters, communications equipment, and intelligence gathering in Mexico be shifted to human-rights training for Mexican security forces. On the other side of the aisle, some Republicans wondered why we should help Mexico when its effort to stem immigration remains so ineffective. One answer is that both the money and the weapons that make the cartels so powerful come from America. The Mexicans were so offended by the tenor of the congressional debate surrounding Merida that they nearly rejected the initiative.
See also The Great Betrayal by David Horowitz and Ben Johnson at Front Page Magazine.
on how the Democrats betrayed the US on the Iraq war, a story we on the right know only too well.
Naturally, the Democrats couldn’t admit their attacks were motivated by crass political calculations. Instead, they claimed that they had been deceived by the White House which had manipulated the intelligence on Iraq, persuading them to support the war on false premises.
This allegation was in fact the biggest lie of the war, since Democrats had full access to all U.S. intelligence on Iraq through their seats on the congressional intelligence committees. This intelligence was available to them, in advance of their vote to authorize the use of force. In the months and years that followed, the Democrats added other false charges — that troops “killed innocent civilians in cold blood,” were “terrorizing kids and…women,” and had committed atrocities comparable to “Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime.” They rejoiced when news reporters leaked information about national security programs designed to combat the terrorists – and thus destroyed them. They held up funding for American soldiers on the battlefield, attempted to cut off all funding, and when that failed, tried to tie funding to a timeline that would ensure America’s defeat. They openly accused uniformed officers like General David Petraeus of lying about conditions on the ground and hoped against hope that “this war is lost, and the surge is not accomplishing anything.”
Dissent is legitimate in wartime, but the Democratic Party’s opposition to this war went far beyond dissent into unprecedented territory. Fortunately, the Bush administration was able to retrieve its own mistakes and its domestic opponents to win a war that Democrats said was unwinnable and (despite their own authorization) shouldn’t have been fought in the first place. But it was no thanks to the Party that now occupies the White House that this American war was won.
You see it isn’t just Obama who is incompetent and can’t see beyond what makes him feel good, the whole damn Democratic Party has been taken over by latter day Chamberlains, except at least Neville Chamberlain was an honourable man.

Dear Employee, Buh-Bye
Found this at Free Republic. I don’t know if this letter ever went out to some company employees somewhere, but it certainly tells the tale. If I owned a business, I’d be saying exactly what this guy is saying – except for the part about leaving the country. Even if he would leave, I am fairly certain the Obamanite will extract a pound of flesh from him anyway.
A letter from the boss
From Neal Boortz’s Nuze | UnknownPosted on Monday, January 19, 2009 9:35:25 AM by Las Vegas Ron
To All My Valued Employees,
There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company, and more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn’t pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country.
However, let me tell you some little tidbits of fact which might help you decide what is in your best interests.
First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against employees, you have to understand that for every business owner there is a back story. This back story is often neglected and overshadowed by what you see and hear. Sure, you see me park my Mercedes outside. You’ve seen my big home at last years Christmas party. I’m sure; all these flashy icons of luxury conjure up some idealized thoughts about my life.
However, what you don’t see is the back story.
I started this company 28 years ago. At that time, I lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for 3 years. My entire living apartment was converted into an office so I could put forth 100% effort into building a company, which by the way, would eventually employ you.
My diet consisted of Ramen Pride noodles because every dollar I spent went back into this company. I drove a rusty Toyota Corolla with a defective transmission. I didn’t have time to date. Often times, I stayed home on weekends, while my friends went out drinking and partying. In fact, I was married to my business — hard work, discipline, and sacrifice.
Meanwhile, my friends got jobs. They worked 40 hours a week and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes. Instead of hitting the Nordstrom’s for the latest hot fashion item, I was trolling through the Goodwill store extracting any clothing item that didn’t look like it was birthed in the 70′s. My friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury. I, however, did not. I put my time, my money, and my life into a business with a vision that eventually, some day, I too, will be able to afford these luxuries my friends supposedly had.
So, while you physically arrive at the office at 9am, mentally check in at about noon, and then leave at 5pm, I don’t. There is no “off” button for me. When you leave the office, you are done and you have a weekend all to yourself. I unfortunately do not have the freedom. I eat, and breathe this company every minute of the day. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour. Every day this business is attached to my hip like a 1 year old special-needs child. You, of course, only see the fruits of that garden — the nice house, the Mercedes, the vacations… You never realize the back story and the sacrifices I’ve made.
Now, the economy is falling apart and I, the guy that made all the right decisions and saved his money, have to bail-out all the people who didn’t. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed a decade of my life for.
Yes, business ownership has is benefits but the price I’ve paid is steep and not without wounds.
Unfortunately, the cost of running this business, and employing you, is starting to eclipse the threshold of marginal benefit and let me tell you why:
I am being taxed to death and the government thinks I don’t pay enough. I have state taxes. Federal taxes. Property taxes. Sales and use taxes. Payroll taxes. Workers compensation taxes. Unemployment taxes. Taxes on taxes. I have to hire a tax man to manage all these taxes and then guess what? I have to pay taxes for employing him. Government mandates and regulations and all the accounting that goes with it, now occupy most of my time. On Oct 15th, I wrote a check to the US Treasury for $288,000 for quarterly taxes. You know what my “stimulus” check was? Zero. Nada. Zilch.
The question I have is this: Who is stimulating the economy? Me, the guy who has provided 14 people good paying jobs and serves over 2,200,000 people per year with a flourishing business? Or, the single mother sitting at home pregnant with her fourth child waiting for her next welfare check? Obviously, government feels the latter is the economic stimulus of this country.
The fact is, if I deducted (Read: Stole) 50% of your paycheck you’d quit and you wouldn’t work here. I mean, why should you? That’s nuts. Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, I agree which is why your job is in jeopardy.
Here is what many of you don’t understand … to stimulate the economy you need to stimulate what runs the economy. Had suddenly government mandated to me that I didn’t need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, I would have spent it, hired more employees, and generated substantial economic growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better salaries. But you can forget it now.
When you have a comatose man on the verge of death, you don’t defibrillate and shock his thumb thinking that will bring him back to life, do you? Or, do you defibrillate his heart? Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate it, not kill it. Suddenly, the power brokers in Washington believe the poor of America are the essential drivers of the American economic engine.
