When I Consider This, I’d Just As Soon Have Jesus Get Here. Soon.
I don’t really pray for America quite the way I, perhaps, ought to. When I pray for her, it is usually either prayers of gratitude or contrition, out pourings of remorse for all the blessing squandered and abused. I’m thinking mainly about the blessing of freedom. An extraordinarily potent drug when not constrained by the laws of God, laws that He scribed into our hearts; “..saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts.”—Hebrews 8:10.
God would always have man to be free. We are designed to be free. But not wantonly debased and “free” of moral conduct. That is slavery. The only freedom possible as humans is as beings living lives honoring God. Disregarding those laws that He encoded in our hearts results in fallen man, and therein the devil dances, be it with high tech, or tribal gangs raging on the street, or abortion mills or crematoriums….. it always ends with man being debased, reveling in spiritual vomit like a cur in an alley too ravenous to care what it eats. And evil always taste damn fine in the beginning…..
What I believe we are now witnessing is freedom subverted to usher in a particularly insidious form of slavery, a wicked blend of totalitarianism that goes beyond any self-defilement man has so far conceived. So, a certain fear keeps me from earnestly praying that our nation survive. Or even that the human race survive. At least not if we remain on the trajectory we presently are on. Of the plethora of travesties man has abused his freedom to create, advances in genetics and technology enabling man to materialize their most grotesque visions of what humans “ought” to be, chills me to the bones.
Here is a simple definition of the ideological ogre propelling this to which I refer:
“Transhumanism is a transnational technocratic trend that promises to break through human biological limitations by radically redesigning humanity.” (Link)

Defying God
And briefly, some of their thinking. In an article commenting on a debate within transhumanism concerning an event they call Singularity; “the point in time when artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence prompting the exponential curve of technological growth to go vertical…..that through modeling the human brain artificial intelligence will become conscious. In fact, he goes so far as to argue that machines will have spiritual experiences and will even worship”
The scientific paradigm of materialism reduces humanity to a byproduct of chemistry and physics. But if my thoughts are merely chemical reactions, then I would have no good reason to believe they are true. Atoms and chemical reactions just do not discern truth. In this way, scientism (the belief that science is the only way to know truth) is self-defeating. The atheistic material reductionist view of consciousness is that it is an emergent property of the brain. This is the dominant scientific view point.
[...]
The understanding about consciousness in the case of artificial intelligence is that consciousness will arise from the material structure of electronic hardware as an emergent property. Emergent properties are seen from a bottom up approach.
[...]
Given the naturalistic worldview, spirituality and consciousness are merely functions of the brain. If that is the case, then consciousness is also on the top not on the bottom. Therefore it’s an effect not a cause. Accordingly, consciousness doesn’t cause things. It’s simply the effect of fatty tissues, neurons and information. In the case of AI it is just a physical thing, computer hardware, programmed with software that allegedly produces consciousness. If the computer is producing consciousness, then consciousness is similarly an effect.(Link)
Now if you follow this link, you will see where this debasement of humanity shall lead. There are the chips that we are all aware of, though perhaps not the with the latest refinements (from the link above):
“..”A hair-thin electronic patch that adheres to the skin like a temporary tattoo could transform medical sensing, computer gaming and even spy operations…”
“…Once brain activity is identified and able to be monitored, it will not be too long until this can be tied into the Skin Tattoo….”
“…The coming system will be able to monitor thinking as it will be all tied together through Wi-Fi….”
Not content to merely crawl into your skull and monitor all that a man may think, these would be gods hope to rape you of those very thoughts…

Moral Judgments Can Be Altered: Neuroscientists Influence People’s Moral Judgments by Disrupting Specific Brain Region

Man Will Never Be God....
The spirit that now emanates through the ideology of the various ‘isms is a very old evil. A seething, vile evil. It rots to the core those who surrender to it. But throughout all recorded history there have always been the remnant who hold to their very being the truth of freedom and the dignity of a human race created by God. In one part of the world or another, in every era, man’s innate hunger for God, truth and freedom has always risen up to stand against the tyranny that fallen men devise. But now it seems these elitists would even deny a simple man the solace of memory, identity and the sanctuary of his own soul.
Short of a tidal wave of global repentance, I see nothing and no people with the strength, voice, and moral fortitude to hold at bay the howling wolves that now believe they smell the blood of humanity on the waters. Better Jesus come than to allow old Lucifer to so thoroughly eviscerate the human race that there remains nothing but shriveled husks, devoid of all humanity, shriven of even the ability to imagine God.
“…ultimately, the singularity is not at all what transhumanists expect. It will not mark the crowning achievement of mankind to godhood and the transcendence of machines…..The real singularity will be when God decisively intervenes into the world in what is known as the Parousia or second coming of Jesus Christ. Indeed, defined this way, I believe the Singularity is near.
from The Singularity is Near in Logos Apologia
I find myself much more inclined to pray for that.

Cultural Marxism
PDX 911 Truth on Frankfurt School Cultural Marxism in America from rcoones on Vimeo.
Sphere: Related ContentValdas Anelauskas lives now in the USA having been driven out of his home country (Lithuania), under political exile, and is doing his best to expose the Frankfurt School and Cultural Marxism and how it is being implemented here in the USA.
He states in one of his writings:
“Today, reflecting on the time when we first arrived here, I realize how naive I was. Or perhaps ignorant. I really believed that the United States of America was a democratic and free country. Moreover, I imagined it to be a highly advanced and progressive nation, maybe even the most civilized country on earth in history. How foolish of me!”
He points out that many of the Marxist plans and ideology he saw in the USSR are actually happening here in the USA within popular social movements …. having different names but Marxist never the less. Most have no idea it is happening. Cultural Marxism is very much alive here and the plan is being carried out here and now. The location of the presentation had to be changed twice at the last minute because of disrupters.

Norm on Obama’s Cairo Speech.
Some reactions to the Obama speech
Some strange reactions is what I mean. A Times leader this morning:
He did not, sadly, address the issue of democracy.
I could swear I heard him doing so: ‘the ability to speak your mind and have a say in how you are governed; confidence in the rule of law and the equal administration of justice; government that is transparent and doesn’t steal from the people; the freedom to live as you choose’; ‘there are some who advocate for democracy only when they are out of power’; ‘government of the people and by the people sets a single standard for all who hold power: you must maintain your power through consent, not coercion; you must respect the rights of minorities’; and so forth. The Times’s own correspondent, James Hider, also noticed. Stranger still, here’s a researcher for Human Rights Watch for whom what Obama said about human rights was less satisfactory than what Condoleezza Rice said four years before him in the same city. Obama, she thinks, didn’t go beyond generalities. No, but the burden of them was entirely clear. What is more, one of those generalities sounded pretty much like this, the words of none other than Condoleezza Rice: ‘America will not impose our style of government on the unwilling. Our goal instead is to help others find their own voice, to attain their own freedom, make their own way.’
Then there is the suggestion that merely by including a reference to the struggle against apartheid in South Africa in the same speech as a discussion of Israel and Palestine, Obama might be taken to have licensed the Israel/apartheid analogy. He did no such thing. The South Africa reference came in a passage designed to illustrate the point that violent resistance is ‘a dead end’ – nothing more. Otherwise we should have to conclude that Obama sees the situation of the Palestinians as similar to that of the Jews during the Holocaust – on the grounds that, not merely in the same speech, but in two consecutive paragraphs, he spoke first of the Holocaust and then of the plight of the Palestinians. These are whimsical interpretations.
Finally Ahdaf Soueif, for her part, was waiting for Obama to assume global leadership; but ‘[h]e did not; he remained the President of the United States.’ Welcome to the real world.
I suppose it was inevitable, since Obama was trying to bring greater understanding to issues that have divided people, and this meant that he spoke, and spoke forthrightly, on more than one side of the issues – inevitable, consequently, that there would be those who would fasten on to some particular and miss what they had no appetite for. For my money, this was one very impressive speech – hard to improve upon, in fact, given everything Obama was trying to do with it – and an exercise in international leadership indeed.
Norm doesn’t have comments so I e-mailed him:
Hi Norm, How can a speech be deemed good when it contains such as this.
As Obama has said, ‘words have consequences’. If the words are misinformation then the consequences will not be good.
I got this reply:
I wasn’t rating the speech as a piece of history. As a political intervention, and on key questions like Israel-Palestine, war on terror, attitude to human rights and democracy vis-a-vis sovereignty, etc, I think he struck a good balance.
and replied:
Hi Norm, I take your point but at that level to perpetuate these myths doesn’t bode well for the future and in the ME history and politics are so interwoven that to sound reasonable on one and misrepresent the other ain’t gonna work in the long term, Was it a ‘good balance’ or was it moral equivalence?
Obama has the lawyers’ slippery way with words, they can mean whatever anyone wants to read into them, he is not to be trusted as his record between his words and his actions shows.I expect you know about this but just for interest….
It’s difficult for the likes of me to argue even briefly with a respected prof from Manchester U, so am I missing something or is he? I don’t expect a further reply from him.

GWB’s Big Idea……….
…….is gaining ground in the Middle East.
From The Wall Street Journal:
The results of Kuwait’s elections last month — in which Islamists were rebuffed and four women were elected to parliament — will likely reinvigorate the movement for greater democracy in the region that has stalled since the hopeful “Arab spring” of 2005. It also puts pressure on the Obama administration to end its deafening silence on democracy promotion.
Now if only Backwards Obama doesn’t blow it the intervention in the ME by Bush after 60 years and more of failed policy is bearing fruit. Another little sign, Syria in order to assist its moribund economy is seeking more commercial ties with Iraq whose economy is thriving. In my understanding at the time this is what the whole invasion of Iraq was about, to start the process of changing the Islamic ME and bring it into the post medieval era. A hell of a tall order, no wonder we saw so much scoffing and pessimism from the bien pensant elites, otherwise known as clever dicks with no balls.

In Passing.
I’ve been a bit overwhelmed lately to even think about posting but I couldn’t miss passing on a link to this column on the Sotomayor nomination at the corner by Andy McCarthy, entitled Forget Whether She Qualifies as a “Racist.” Would Judge Sotomayor Qualifiy as a Juror?
He quotes the instructions given to jurors:
You have two duties as a jury. Your first duty is to decide the facts from the evidence in the case. This is your job, and yours alone. Your second duty is to apply the law that I give you to the facts. You must follow these instructions, even if you disagree with them…. Perform these duties fairly and impartially. Do not allow sympathy, prejudice, fear, or public opinion to influence you. You should not be influenced by any person’s race, color, religion, national ancestry, or sex.
Do read it all.
I hate to give more space to Obama, he himself is not worth it, but America made such a huge mistake electing him and the consequences of that could be so horrendous that it would be dereliction of duty to stay away from sounding the warning as often as possible. So from the Christian Science Monitor, ‘The Emptiness of Obama’s Pragmatism’ by Jacob Bronsther.
Also Scott Kirwin at The Scratching Post is on to something important amid all the talk of Obama being a Socialist he contends that he is in fact a Mussolinian Fascist. Don’t choke on you croissant any liberals happening by, if, as Scott says, the Socialists aim to take over the means of production while Fascists nominally leave industry in private hands but take over control of same he makes a lot of sense. See his posts here and here and he has others if you care to scroll down.
One more, Paul Schlichta at American Thinker says O is a mega-egotist rather than a narcissist as he thought, though in the end it doesn’t make much difference regarding the harm he can do.

Dr. Sanity on Obama.
Now and then you read something that you wish could be on the front page of every newspaper in the country, what a fantasist I am! Such a piece is Dr. Sanity’s take on Obama’s speechifying.
Over and over again I hear how “wonderful” Obama’s rhetoric is; how much everyone responds to it and how it makes them hopeful about the future etc. etc. etc.
Frankly, I can barely stand to listen to the man. I have to read transcripts of most of his speeches because my reaction to his style is so negative. I don’t like the sensation of being manipulated; nor do I like being lectured to by someone who instinctively believes they are far more virtuous than I am– and intends to show me the error of my ways.
Understand that I listen to people for a living. I hear various degrees of honesty, sincerity, and real emotional pain being expressed on a regular basis. I also hear some of the most self-serving, dishonest and completely irresponsible utterings that it is possible to imagine. Yet, in my professional career, I have to freely admit that I have heard nothing like the deceitful and self-aggrandizing utterings of Barack Obama, which seem to get more and more pathological with every speech he gives. His most recent scam, in the National Archives in front of a fake copy of the U.S. Constitution just about takes the cake. This is not irony, so much as it is the grandiosity of tyranny.
Bill Clinton–who I actually liked for the most part; even his amusing narcissism, which seems so childishly innocent in retrospect–was completely harmless compared to the sociopathic statist that is our current POTUS.
He’s a snake oil salesman non pareil.

The Bastard Press.
Even for the press actions speak louder than words.
There is a reason that both the press and Obama are sinking.
The NYT’s stock, which as recently as last spring was trading in the low $20s, tumbled down 10.75 percent to close in single-digit territory, at $9.55. The company’s debt was downgraded to “below investment grade” — or “junk” status — by Standard & Poor’s.
We sure traded down with Obama:
I had the great opportunity to see the Dalai Lama speak at MIT this afternoon. When he opened the forum to audience Q&A, the following stunning exchange occurred (I will paraphrase):
Audience member: “Can you give us an example of a leader we should look up to as a positive influence?”
Dalai Lama (after thinking for a few seconds): “President Bush. I met him personally and liked him very much. He was honest and straightforward, and that is very important. I may not have agreed with all his policies, but I thought he was very honest and a very good leader.”
All this in Cambridge . . .

In Paris Obama Is A Joke.
Success! Obama has changed the image of America in France. Yep, instead of looking down their long, haughty noses at us [or as well as...] they are laughing! Way to go Barry.
From a column at Israpundit by Dr. Jack Wheeler:
Paris, France. It is very cool to be a French intel guy. A spectacular meal at a Parisian bistro with $90 entrées and a $200 bottle of Bordeaux? No problem. I’d known this fellow since he got me out of a jam in Sudan years ago. His James Bond days are over, but still, riding a desk for the DGSE — Direction générale de la sécurité extérieure (General Directorate for External Security), France’s military intel agency – in Paris has its decided benefits.
One of them is not being infected with Obamamania. “My agency considers him a joke,” he confides. “Every day there is some fresh lunacy that we cannot believe. Mr. Bush would often make us angry. But at this man we just laugh.”
“In truth, it also makes us sad,” he continued. “French resentment towards America is strong, so being able to laugh at your country feels good. But it is such a sad and strange thing to see America – America The Great! – do something so crazy as to elect this ridiculous man.”
“There are a lot of people convinced he is a traitor who hates America and is actively determined to destroy it. Any opinion on that?”
He didn’t shrug at this. After a long slow sip of wine, he mused, “I would not go that far. Many of his actions, however, are very puzzling because they are so counter-productive regarding America’s best interests. There seems to be a consistent pattern in that direction.”
“What does Sarkozy think of him?”
“Nothing but contempt.”
After a pause he asked, “And Langley?” (the CIA)
“Well, if you thought the war they waged against Bush was intense, it was nothing compared to how they’re going to screw Obama. He has tried to gut them with the ‘torture memo’ release and slashing their budgets. The morale is depressed, sullen, and enraged. You know what a left-wing outfit Langley is. They thought he was their boy and they feel betrayed. All kinds of damaging stuff on him will be appearing via their media friends.”
Read it all.
Addendum. I can’t cite names so you’ll have to take my word for it. Someone I know interviewed a Very Famous Leftwing American Journalist and asked him for his assessment of Barry O so far. The VFLAJ replied, ‘He’s way out of his depth.’ Sometimes a simple statement like that gives you the whole picture.

Truth and Consequence.
Someone sent me this video.
From what I know without checking it all seems to be factual, but does believing that make me a troofer, a right wing extremist, a wingnut, a racist and all the other epithets the left sling about with such abandon? What if it is all true and we have in the White House a Muslim/communist African despot? If it walks like a duck…………….
I guess it’s a little more difficult for the people to see an Emperor who is an empty suit for what he is than it is to see an Emperor with no suit but it will happen. Of course all the courtiers aka the MSM will cling to the death, their own that is, that the suit has some content instead of seeing it for what it is, a robotic front man for the Ayres, Soros, Wright, communists and America haters with not an iota of original thought or even any common sense to his name.
Dick Morris at Real Clear Politics says Obama’s High Approval Ratings Won’t Last.
When the Obama administration crashes and burns, with approval ratings that fall through the floor, political scientists can trace its demise to its first hundred days. While Americans are careful not to consign a presidency they desperately need to succeed to the dustbin of history, the fact is that this president has moved – on issue after issue – in precisely the opposite direction of what the people want him to do.
Right now, Obama’s ratings must be pleasing to his eye. Voters like him and his wife immensely and approve of his activism in the face of the economic crisis. While polls show big doubts about what he is doing, the overwhelming sense is to let him have his way and pray that it works.
But beneath this superficial support, Obama’s specific policies run afoul of the very deeply felt convictions of American voters. For example, the most recent Rasmussen Poll asked voters if they wanted an economic system of complete free enterprise or preferred more government involvement in managing the economy. By 77-19, they voted against a government role, up seven points from last month.
Like America’s many enemies in the past Obama’s ego blinds him to what he’s taken on and one hopes that Academia, the MSM and all the assorted ragbag of communists, ‘revolutionaries’, idiots and malcontents who are riding his coat tails will go down with him, he will be the catalyst for purging much of the garbage that has been blighting the American landscape ever since JFK finagled his way into power.

We Said Obama Was Scary.
While the administration is playing politics with the methods that kept the US safe for eight long years against all expectations of further attacks, and while the Obamaniac swans around the world making nice to thugs and vicious dictators, the forces of evil are not sitting still.
Con Coughlin writing in The Daily Telegraph tells what the fools in Washington should know.
The Taliban continues its menacing advance on the Pakistani capital. The Iranian president reiterates his hateful anti-Israeli rhetoric, while Israel’s newly elected Right-wing prime minister makes veiled threats about launching military action to prevent a second Holocaust. Yet the only subject that appears to concern Barack Obama is whether or not senior officials from the previous administration should face prosecution for the harsh interrogation techniques used against terror suspects in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
Read it all. It really is hair tearing time over the lunatic asylum that passes for government in Washington.

Presumed Dead
Politics is driving the destruction of the District’s school voucher program.EDUCATION SECRETARY Arne Duncan has decided not to admit any new students to the D.C. voucher program, which allows low-income children to attend private schools. The abrupt decision — made a week after 200 families had been told that their children were being awarded scholarships for the coming fall — comes despite a new study showing some initial good results for students in the program and before the Senate has had a chance to hold promised hearings. For all the talk about putting children first, it’s clear that the special interests that have long opposed vouchers are getting their way.
Officials who manage the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program sent letters this week to parents notifying them that the scholarships of up to $7,500, were being rescinded because of the decision by the Education Department. Citing the political uncertainty surrounding vouchers, a spokesperson for Mr. Duncan told us that it is not in the best interest of students and their parents to enroll them in a program that may end a year from now. Congress conditioned funding beyond the 2009-10 school year on reauthorization by Congress and approval by the D.C. Council. By presuming the program dead — and make no mistake, that’s the insidious effect of his bar on new enrollment — Mr. Duncan makes it even more difficult for the program to get the fair hearing it deserves.
That’s not to mention the impact of the last-minute decision on these families. Many of the public charter schools already have cut off enrollments for the upcoming school year; the deadline for out-of-boundary transfers for the public schools has passed. No doubt Mr. Duncan is right about possible disruption for new students if the program were to end. But scholarship officials have been upfront with parents about the risks, and the decision really should be theirs. Let them decide whether they want to chance at least one year in a high-quality private school versus the crapshoot of D.C. public schools.
ad_iconThat, after all, is what this program is about: giving poor families the choice that others, with higher salaries and more resources, take for granted. It’s a choice President Obama made when he enrolled his two children in the elite Sidwell Friends School. It’s a choice Mr. Duncan had when, after looking at the D.C. schools, he ended up buying a house in Arlington, where good schools are assumed. And it’s a choice taken away this week from LaTasha Bennett, a single mother who had planned to start her daughter in the same private school that her son attends and where he is excelling. Her desperation is heartbreaking as she talks about her daughter not getting the same opportunities her son has and of the hardship of having to shuttle between two schools.
It’s clear, though, from how the destruction of the program is being orchestrated, that issues such as parents’ needs, student performance and program effectiveness don’t matter next to the political demands of teachers’ unions. Congressional Democrats who receive ample campaign contributions from the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers laid the trap with budget language that placed the program on the block. And now comes Mr. Duncan with the sword.
Every day comes something disgusting about the Democrats and yet millions vote for them. The millions who are either idiots or bought and paid for I guess.

O-bow-ma.
I guess about everyone has seen Obama’s obsequious bow to King Saud.
It seems Obama gives himself away when he is not the programmed telly prompted Alinsky robot that we know and love [spit] so well. Like his off hand answer to Joe the Plumber about redistributing the wealth, letting slip his Socialist credentials, this bow shows inadverently his obeisance to Islam, nothing less. Such are the glimpses of the genuine Obama. Much fun has been made of his ‘ah, um, um’ hesitancy when speaking off the cuff, but a big part of that is the difficulty in hiding what he really thinks, otherwise known as lying his stupid head off. Geez, a lying President and a lying Vice President!
Raymond Ibrahim at PJM puts the bow into historical and cultural context.

The lefty propaganda branded Bush as a moron and Obama as an intellectual Harvard law professor.
Here is a Bush reading list. Quite impressive wouldn’t you say? Note the Lincoln bio and Lincoln’s Greatest Speech: The Second Inaugural.
And on what does the high falutin’ Harvard Law Perfesser spend his time? TV.
President Barack Obama can’t stand to be without his “Entourage.”
Call it a guilty pleasure, or maybe it just rings familiar to him. The HBO series about an aspiring actor features a fast-talking agent named Ari, based on the real-life brother of Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel.
For less R-rated fare, he tunes into “Hannah Montana” or “SpongeBob SquarePants” in the White House with his daughters. Aides said he would have watched Monday night’s NCAA championship on TiVo on his way home from Iraq Tuesday night.
Jon Stewart’s smackdown of CNBC’s Jim Cramer? Obama was eager to see it. But when it comes to the real news, and not the fake kind, Obama takes a pass — rarely ever tuning into 24-hour cable chatter or replays of his own performances.
Ah yes, all those troublesome affairs of state are put on hold while he indulges in passive entertainment.
No doubt everyone has heard of the infamous Obama bow to King Saud, well Alan Sullivan as usual has the real take on it. Read the comments too.

Thomas Sowell.
I love Thomas Sowell’s Random Thoughts. From today’s column:
Socialists believe in government ownership of the means of production. Fascists believed in government control of privately owned businesses, which is much more the style of this government. That way, politicians can intervene whenever they feel like it and then, when their interventions turn out badly, summon executives from the private sector before Congress and denounce them on nationwide television.
Two thoughts of my own, how can any reasonable person believe that the Obama Presidency can turn out other than disastrously and it’s a serious defect of a country that an Obama can be elected as Pres when there are people like Thomas Sowell around.
