A Criminal Modus Operandi

In a National Geographic article on Persia [1] there is a remarkable quote: “Before they (Islam) came, we (Persia) were a great and civilized power.” …Echoing commonly stated, though disputed, lore…. “They burned our books and raped our women, and we couldn’t speak Farsi (the Persian language) in public or they took our tongues.”

Notice the hedging of bets with the “commonly stated, though disputed lore”. It is conventional wisdom, but it may not be true. There are different ways to verify whether or not Islam burned books and raped the Persian women, but one way to verify is with what police call, modus operandi, MO, method of operation. It is used in law enforcement to describe a criminal’s habitual patterns and style of committing crimes. MO is common sense. Criminals, like everybody else, do what is familiar and works.

But MO is usually applied to a person. Islam’s habitual patterns are preserved in its doctrine. The first great principle of Islam is that non-Muslims are kafirs. A kafir is not just an unbeliever in Mohammed’s prophecy but a kafir has a special place in Islam and that place is all bad. Islam has dualistic ethics for the kafir. A Muslim is a brother to another Muslim, but kafirs can be insulted, robbed, murdered and tortured.

Kafir women can be raped in jihad. There are three different verses in the Koran that relate to having sex with your slaves:

Koran 70:22 Not the devout, who pray constantly and whose wealth has a fixed portion set aside for beggars and the destitute, and those who believe in the Judgment Day, and those who fear their Lord’s punishment-because no one is safe from their Lord’s punishment-and who control their sexual desires, except with their wives or slave-girls, with them there is no blame; but whoever indulges their lust beyond this are transgressors), and who keep their trusts and promises, and who tell the truth, and who are attentive to their prayers. These will live with honors in Gardens.

This is an interesting verse. It is an ethical list of behaviors: pray, give charity to the poor, truth telling and having sex with your slave-girls. Another verse says that even married slave girls are to be used for sex.

What is a slave? A kafir who has been captured and who has no defenders. How long do you have to hold the captive until they can be considered good for sex? Well, the Hadith as an answer has for us.

Here we see that at first the jihadists were reluctant to have sex with the captive women because of their husbands being nearby. But the Koran established that it was not immoral for them to rape kafir women because they had husbands.

Mohammed sent an army to Autas and encountered the enemy and fought with them. Having overcome them and taken them captives, the Companions seemed to refrain from having intercourse with captive women because of their husbands being kafirs. Then Allah, Most High, sent down regarding that: “And women already married, except those whom your right hands possess (iv. 24)” (i. e. they were lawful for them when their menstrual period came to an end).

How soon? On the same day according to the Sira:

Ishaq 758 Dihya had asked Mohammed for Safiya, and when he chose her for himself Mohammed gave Safiya’s two cousins to Dihya in exchange. The women of Khaybar were distributed among the Muslims.
Ishaq 759 A man said, ‘Let me tell you what I heard the apostle say on the day of Khaybar. He got up among us and said: “It is not lawful for a Muslim to mingle his seed with another man’s [meaning to have sex with a pregnant woman among the captives], nor is it lawful for him to take her until he has made sure that she is in a state of cleanness [not having her period].

As long as the kafir woman was not pregnant or having her period, the Muslim can rape her. Of course, a kafir should not even see the Muslim woman, hence, the veil, but a Muslim can have sex with a captured kafir woman. This is as good an illustration of Islam’s dual ethics as any other.

The story of Islamic rape was repeated in Turkey, Eastern Europe, Egypt, Spain and Hindustan. It is going on in Africa today. Rape is the Islamic modus operandi, way of doing business.

What about the book burning? When Islam invaded Hindustan (India) the largest library in the world was at Nalanda, a Buddhist center of learning. It took days to burn the library.

After all, all kafir culture was jahiliya, ignorant and hated by Allah. Books, art and all kafir culture are despised by Allah. When Muslims destroy civilizations, they are doing a good moral work. The books destroyed in Persia and India were an affront to Islam.

The other part of cultural destruction is the elimination of languages. When Islam invaded Coptic Egypt, a kafir would have his tongue cut out for speaking Coptic in front of Islamic government officials. Today, Islam has declared war on the Berber language and culture in North Africa.

The power of jihad is its totality. Jihad goes far beyond the use of violence. It is the purpose of Islam to annihilate all kafir civilizations. This doctrine allows political Islam to be constant over time and continents. The MO of Islam is fixed by the Koran, Sira and Hadith.

Atlas Shrugs: Apocalypse Now ….. or shortly

The world powers circle jerk. The mad mullahs prepare for the coming of the 12th mahdi. The West, seemingly hardwired for delusion, convinces itself it can live with a nuclear Iran. The fantasy being it will level the nuclear playing field in the Middle East and mirror the nuclear stand off that kept the Ruskies and the Yanks from using their nukes in the last century. But the salve of MAD (mutually assured destruction) is not logical. The state was godless, no religious dogma to cling to. And the Russians wanted to live.

We are dealing with an enemy bent on death, who lives to die for the glory of their god. And yet,despite the close to 12,000 Islamic attacks since 9/11, the homicide bombings, the almost daily arrests of jihadis across the world, we still refuse to accept this. We love life and this love will be the death of us all. It renders us incapable of believing that there are millions of pious fanatics who do no love life.

They didn’t believe Hitler when he wrote Mein Kampf. He made his objectives quite clear. Islamic jihad has made its intentions bloody clear. How dare we not believe them? Ahmadinejad has spewed the most violent annihilationist rhetoric. Who are we to toy we mass destruction? It irks me to hear the left whine about “saving the planet” when no threat to the planet exists (it will outlive us all, trust me). But the threat to mankind is dismissively shrugged off.

THERE ARE DIFFERENT KINDS OF ISLAM
The differences in the different kinds of Islam are due to religion, not politics. Take the Sunni/Shia split, the largest division in Islam. Both Sunnis and Shias completely agree on how to treat kafirs and jihad. All Muslim subscribe to one of five schools of the Sharia and the Sharia’s position regarding kafirs and jihad is the nearly the same for all the schools.

The only big difference is whether to use violent jihad or peaceful jihad against the kafirs.

HADITH—SOME OF THOSE AREN’T REAL
If you quote a hadith to a Muslim and they don’t like it, they will say, “Well, some of those hadiths are not acceptable (or true or some other disclaimer).” And that is true. Actually, when a Muslim says that, they are practicing taqiyya, sacred deception and duality. If it is a hadith, then a Muslim cannot be denied the right to follow it. It is Sunna.

The hadiths from Bukhari and Muslim are the creme de la creme of hadiths. When Bukhari made his collection, he threw out 99% of those he found. Those 99% are the unsure ones, the other 1% which are used here are authoritative.

THE MYTH OF THE ARABS, ABRAHAM AND ISHMAEL
The core of the myth is told in the Koran about how Adam built the Kabah at Mecca. It was the first house of worship. Then Abraham brought Ishmael to Mecca, prepared to perform the sacrifice demanded by God. Ishmael was left in Mecca with his mother, Hagar.

Once you know something about Islam and try to talk to others, you may find yourself in a debate. Here are some of the “standards”.

CAN YOU READ ARABIC?
Everyone from Muslims to atheists uses this. The implication is that Arabic is a unique language that can’t be translated and therefore, how could you know what you are talking about? First, the Koran claims to be a universal message for all humanity for all times. If the message is universal, then it must be able to be understood by all. If the message cannot be understood by everybody, then by definition it is not universal. So, which is it?

Another thing to consider is that over half of the Koran is about kafirs and politics. Do you really think that a political message about a kafir cannot be understood by the kafir? If so, what is that message that cannot be understood?

It must be made clear which Arabic is being spoken about. The Arabic of the Koran is classical Arabic which is about as similar to modern Arabic as the English of Chaucer and Beowulf is similar to modern English. Said in another way, not even a modern Arab can read classical Arabic. It is estimated that fewer than a thousand scholars who read classical Arabic can compose a paragraph on a random topic.

And what about the nearly billion Muslims who don’t even understand modern Arabic? If it is necessary to understand classical Arabic to understand what the Koran is about, then how can those billion non-Arabic-speaking Muslims understand the Koran? And if they cannot understand the Koran how can they be Muslims?

I want a wall between the slavery of of islam and socialism and the freedom and prosperity of America. Barack Obama’s European tour has only demonstrated how utterly imperative it is that he is soundly defeated. Erased. Shoved down the memory hole. Forever.

France Gets It Right on Muslims

PARIS – France has denied citizenship to a veiled Moroccan woman on the grounds that her “radical” practice of Islam is incompatible with basic French values such as equality of the sexes.

The case will reignite debate about how to reconcile freedom of religion, which is guaranteed by the French constitution, and other fundamental rights, which many in France feel are being challenged by the way of life of some Muslims.

Obama Speak

Let me be crystal clear: if elected president, my first act will be to call for the immediate withdrawal of all American troops from Iraq. I have always been consistent and forthright in this position, and I want to reassure my supporters that my recent statement backtracking from it was just some bullshit my staff came up with to tack to the center for the general election. To win this election, it will be critical to appeal to the dwindling but stubborn group of idiots who cling to fantasies of American “victory” in this tragic disaster. It’s an unfortunate part of the complicated game of presidential politics, but let’s face it: I can’t stop this war if I’m not in the White House. However, you should know by now that whatever I may say from now until November, once elected I will immediately pull the rug from these gullible pro-war rubes.

Or will I? As is obvious to all but the most deluded HuffPo retard, the surge in Iraq has produced dramatic improvements in security throughout Iraq, and the roots of a stable pro-American democracy. We have the terrorists on the run, and it would obviously be crazy for us to pull our troops from the region just as we are on the verge of victory. And it is equally obvious that everything I said in the previous paragraph was designed to placate the naive hipster moonbats I brilliantly exploited to destroy the Clintons. (You’re welcome.) Now that the nomination is in the bag, I am finally free to stake out my genuine pro-victory Iraq position, and have a good laugh while the dKos morons screech like a bunch of apoplectic howler monkeys. Let’s face it: at the rate I’m heading right on national security, I’ll be raining nukes on Tehran by February.

I didn’t think much of any faith based initiative under Bush. I am horrified that Barack Obama has endorsed it. Even more ominous, he intends to expand the list of faiths to whom it applies.

Christians I can handle. They have yet to threaten to kill me when I offend them. Real Christians (as opposed to the pseudo _christian left) have a healthy respect for free will. More so, they have a healthy respect for life. Islam respects neither, in fact, muslims respect nothing outside of Islam, least of all the right to worship any god, or no god at all.

Given Obama’s seemingly natural affinity for totalitarian systems, I clearly expect him to gravitate towards the autocratic dictates of Islam. And expanding faith based initiatives will open the door ever wider for Islam. More to the point, it isn’t as if they are a body of impoverished believers, hurting for money. Islam has a steady revenue of Wahabbi and Saud money flowing into their coffers. Let them fund their own freaking initiatives.The idea of adding American tax dollars is tantamount to handing ammunition to the enemy.

Islam is quietly crossing the threshold of our schools in this country while hysterical muslims scream “racism’ anytime parents protest. The lamentable and subversive ACLU does absolutely nothing about it. But of course, you have to grow a pair to confront Islam and the dhimmi ACLU are far to used to the easy victories they have had suppressing Christianity.

If American remains indifferent, they’ll be longing for the days when Christianity was the only religion they had to contend with. Don’t believe me. Start reading the blogs and news out of Great Britain. Below is only one small example.

March 9, 2006 — WASHINGTON – The head of Islamic chaplains in the New York City Department of Correction said in a recent speech that the “greatest terrorists in the world occupy the White House,” Jews control the media, and Muslims are being tortured in Manhattan jails.

The outlandish remarks were made by one of the city’s most prominent Islamic leaders, Imam Umar Abdul-Jalil, the executive director of ministerial services for the city Department of Correction. He spoke at a conference of Islamic leaders in Tucson, Ariz., and was secretly recorded by the counterterrorism organization The Investigative Project .

The recordings capture Abdul-Jalil – speaking at two separate symposiums on Islam in America held by the Muslim Students Association on April 15 and 16 last year – making incendiary charges and espousing extremist views. Abdul-Jalil, 56, who is also imam of the Masjid Sabur mosque in Harlem, initially denied making the comments – but later admitted to The Post that the tape was most likely accurate and said his words are being “taken out of context.”…

As I mentioned earlier in 17% of americans are ok with DPW ports deal my estimate is that 80% of blacks are anti-semitic; much of it due to propaganda like Leonard Jeffries identifies Jews as principal planners, financiers and organizers of the Atlantic slave trade and the rantings of the racist lunatic Louis Farrakhan^***.

Certainly, none of this should surprise us; we all recall Imam Intikab Habib, the FDNY Chaplain who resigned after expressing doubts about 9/11 and Imam Warith Deen Umar, the former chief Muslim chaplain barred from the state prison system, after it was reported he was expressing support for the 9/11 terrorists. Actually that last phrase in bold italics needs to be translated from media-speak and politically correct truthiness to actual statement of fact: after it was reported he was recruiting terrorists for al-Qaeda. All Muslims are a threat to Western Civilization, but black Muslims are a greater threat by virtue of the fact that they do not even need to set up sleeper cells – they already live amongst us accepted as Americans!

Seventh Circuit Vacates Holy Land Foundation Opinion, Grants Rehearing

On June 16, the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals vacated the opinion of a three-judge panel, rendered December 28, 2007, which overturned the landmark $156 million judgment against the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), other Islamic charities in the U.S., and an alleged Hamas fundraiser. The case arose out of the 1996 murder of David Boim, a 17-year-old American citizen, who was killed in a Hamas terrorist attack in the West Bank. David’s parents sued men who were directly involved in the murder; the Holy Land Foundation (HLF); the American Muslim Society, also known as the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP); the Quranic Literacy Institute (QLI); the United Association for Studies and Research (UASR); Saleh, the alleged Hamas fundraiser; and others (see this summary judgement order from the first trial for the complete list). The June 16 decision will result in a rehearing of the case by the entire court in the near future, thus giving the Boim family a second chance at the appellate level.

I have less and less hope that this castrated government will rid this country of the Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR and all other islamic front groups. But at least there is this, small as it is. May they nail these bastards to the wall.

You know, the country Obama wants to include in his kumbaya world tour whose leader has never deviated from his obsession with obliterating America

It all makes you wonder why Obama wants to cripple America militarily. Doesn’t it?

The Insanity of Appeasing Muslims

It seems too lunatic to be true. But here a hair salon boss reveals how she was driven to the brink of ruin – and forced to pay £4,000 for ‘hurt feelings’ – after refusing to hire a Muslim stylist who wouldn’t show her hair at work.

For a year, Sarah has been facing financial ruin, due to a compensation claim for £34,000 brought by Bushra, 19, who has maintained she is due that figure after being turned down for a job at the Wedge salon in London’s King’s Cross.

In the event, the tribunal ruled this week that while Bushra’s claim of direct discrimination failed, her claim for indirect discrimination had succeeded.

Sarah has therefore been ordered to pay £4,000 compensation by way of ‘injury to feelings’.

Although this is a smaller sum than she’d feared she might have to hand over, Sarah, 32, is still outraged.

‘I am a small business and the bottom line is that this is not a woman who worked for me,’ says Sarah.

The muslim in question was also rejected by 25 other salons and even though she admits that Sarah said nothing that could be construed as an insult, she opted to sue. My guess is that Sarah looked like the softest target.

This is what comes of the ludicrous notion that offended feelings deserve compensation. Moreover it speaks to the insidious control the state exerts over the private business owner who has less and less freedom to conduct business profitably or in accordance with their beliefs. Such interference with private enterprise becomes even more insidious when coupled with the additional threat posed by  the very dangerous momentum with which sharia compliant banking is being implemented across the world. As it progresses, so does the imposition of sharia law.

Yet, we allow muslims continue to use our laws against us. And it isn’t just in England. Islam has global ambitions, and as one writer cautions, while warning of the acceleration of muslim sponsored censorship, it has become an issue that crosses all national boundaries.

“We can no longer be secure in the knowledge that our own laws or constitution will protect us. THE WHOLE WORLD IS UNDER THREAT and we’ve got to be watching for changes globally rather than nationally if we want to be prepared for what is going to absolutely affect each one of us.” (source)

From refusing to wear uniforms, to protesting male western doctors  treating muslim women, to muslim taxi cab drivers demanding special privileges , not to mention the pathetic dhimmis who acquiesce to muslim extortion, like the execrable Oregon principle who had the audacity to ban the Pledge of Allegiance in an American public elementary school, for fear of offending Muslims.

This list can go on and on -  creeping sharia and cultural jihad continues, abetted by the left, in nation after nation.

What the hell is it going to take for Americans to freaking wake up? And it won’t be Barack Hussein Obama who finally gets a clue, the would-be president who finds the shrill islamic “call to prayer” melodic and permits advocacy of “honor” killings on his official campaign site...

In 1997, Sarah got a job at a salon on London’s Portobello Road, where she remained for almost a decade. In March 2006, feeling ready to spread her wings, she wrote a business plan, secured a loan and invested £5,000 of her savings into the lease on a small salon on Caledonian Road.

And then a muslim walked in.  A muslim applying to an “edgy” salon, garbed in head scarf down to her brows. And she was looking for an excuse to sue, of that I have no doubt. Sarah interviewed her, discovered that she would refuse  to remove her head scarf and that was the end of it in her mind. If style is the product that you sell, and hair is the showcase, it is rather obvious that a dour muslim with nary a wisp of hair showing isn’t a good match. Rather like applying to be a nude model and refusing to take off your clothes. A sensible person simply wouldn’t apply.

One morning in the second week of June 2007, an innocuous white envelope landed on Sarah’s doormat. It contained a letter saying that she was being sued for £15,000 for indirect and direct discrimination by Bushra Noah. This, the letter stated, related to compensation for injury to her feelings and lost earnings. Later, that figure was increased to £34,000.

And so it goes. In every country where muslims are seeking a stronghold,  charges of discrimination and threats of lawsuits are becoming common. It is the same victim’s templates used by all so-called minorities. And  small business owners simply trying to hold their own, to make a living, are confronted with a well oiled grievance machine with absolutely no support from their individual governments. In fact, too many governments are bending their knees to these extortionists.

If you, as an American, have no intention of bowing down before foreign gods, then you damn well better start fighting.

Muslims In Kilts Might be An Improvement… On Second Thought..

The idea of Scottish muslims seems a tad incongruous. Though it might be one step towards civility if they traded their billowing tent garb for a kilt, the picture that conjures up is exceedingly absurd. But, typical of all muslims who travel to the West, they do not like the country that has provided them sanctuary. And typical of muslims , they find freedom more oppressive than sharia law.

So why do they travel from their precious sharia shackled homelands to the unfettered West?

Two Muslims supporters of “violent jihad” discussed setting up a secret Islamic state in a remote part of Scotland, a court heard today.

Away from the prying eyes of the authorities, it would provide a safe haven for those who felt “oppressed”, jurors were told.

It would also be run according to Sharia law and eventually be used as a base to “discreetly train” for attacks against non-believers.

One Muslim School Down, How Many More to Go?

I just received this email from Act for America. Chalk one up for the good guys…

Immediate Release
The Central Florida chapter of the United American Committee uncovered a cultural Jihad happening within the Seminole County school system earlier this month. The UAC found out the public school system was allowing a group called A.L.I. (Academy for learning Islam) to speak in the classroom under a program called the Dividends Program & Speakers Bureau. A.L.I. moved its headquarters less than one year ago to Sanford, FL from Canada and has ties to Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.

Upon investigation the U.A.C. of Central Florida uncovered information on their school infiltration plan and notified Eric Rasmussen of Chanel 9 News. Chanel 9 News aired the story speaking to parents, a School Board rep, and Hasnain Kassamali of A.L.I. The overwhelming response from students and parents alike were against the Academy For Learning Islam and their attempts at cultural indoctrination of unsuspecting students to the tenets of Islamic religious and political doctrine.

The Seminole County School Board admitted that A.L.I. missionaries wrongly presented Islam specific religious material in violation of separation of Church and State laws.

Equally unsettling, the three A.L.I. missionaries were never screened before being allowed access to the students in violation of the Dividends Programs safety rules.

The concerned parents and students provided information to the U.A.C. which included a PDF file of a history book that contained approximately 38 pages on Islam but only one each on Christians and Jews. The U.A.C. questions this blatant disregard for equal access when textbooks favor Islam over the other world religions.

540 AM WFLA radio talk show host Bud Heddinger spent one hour discussing the subject. Mr. Heddinger’s producer contacted A.L.I. to get their side of the story but nobody would agree to an interview.

BREAKING NEWS: The Academy For Learning Islam (A.L.I.) has been permanently removed the Dividends and Speaker’s Bureau programs of the Seminole County Public School System. We are extremely proud of this victory and could not have done it alone. All the people who wrote emails, made phone calls, and spoke to the school board, your messages were heard loud and clear. This is a significant accomplishment removing A.L.I.s’ access to Seminole County students after repeatedly violating the school boards rules.

When Muslims Attack…Americans Shrug

If this news team would have reported that they were attacked by Christians when trying to report violations of church and state, this incident would have been elevated to national news. But Americans, including the ACLU, seem quite content to allow Islam to gain a foothold in our schools.
This isn’t an isolated incident. Islamic curriculum has been threading it’s way into textbooks for the past several years. But all you brave Christo-phobes seem to be choking on your protests. All I hear is silence. Allah got your tongue?

Kudos to this news team who at least have the balls to investigate.

Sheik Muhammad Abu Al-Qat’: That’s not the issue. We say that Allah willing, within 10 to 12 years, America will collapse. This won’t happen as a result of war. Not at all. Allah will send to America an American Gorbachev, from within. Gorbachev, who brought about the USSR collapse, was one of them. Everybody knows this story. An American Gorbachev will surface in America, and he will destroy this empire.

Defensive or Offensive Jihad

The issue at stake is the deep gap between the horrific acts of terrorism coming from the Global Jihad groups, and at the same time the propagation coming from the Islamists in eloquent English and in total terms: firstly, that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance hijacked by extremists; secondly, that there is only one Jihad, the spiritual, that means to worship Allah; and thirdly that the Muslims are ordered to fight their enemies only defensively, as they are themselves attacked.

The stunned “free world” witnesses the hideous and atrocious acts of terror, slaughters, beheadings and extreme violence, and at the same time is being told that this is retaliation for the Western colonialism and neo-imperialism, or that these groups are a small minority, mere weeds in a bigger garden. The “free world” is also being told that the acts of terror of the Jihadists and the threats of demolishing modernity of the 21^st century and bringing it back to the 7^th century are only because they defend their lands and their families and their honor against Western aggression.

The question that we must answer is, Jihad defensive or offensive? The answer will be given by analyzing Islamic sources and Muslim exegetes as compared to contemporary Islamist propagators of ideas in the West.

The Arab-Islamic terrorist organizations’ strategy against the “free world” is comprised of two parallel but coordinated arms: Jihad – a holy war against the infidels, and Da`wah – the persuasion and conviction means by which to join Islam. Both are intended to achieve the same objectives; both are used at the same time by different perpetrators and against different targets; both are important stages in the march of Islamic rule; and between both, Da`wah is the more dangerous to the “free world”.

Islam, Tribalism and Progressives

I have always been viscerally repelled by the idea of a “collective”. The phrase “for the greater good” has the same affect on my nerves as fingernails clawing a chalkboard. Even when I hear groups of people reciting mantras or slogans in unison, I am reminded of brain dead zombies. During my reprobate days as a hippie I remained baffled what the hell the appeal of a commune was. Why the hell would I want strangers sharing the bounty of my work?. Especially when it is an inevitability that a good portion of that group are likey to be slackers who are more than willing to coast on other people’s efforts.

There is nothing that makes me more inclined to put someone’s lights out than their presumption that I owe them, or society, a damn thing. For those who revel in humanity , who get goose bumps at the thought of a group hug, fine and dandy. Find yourself a commune and get your collective rocks off. But don’t you dare impose that farcical construct on the rest of society. I worship free will. I embrace individualism with every fiber of my being. And any group, muslims or progressives, who dare suggest that they own a part of me, can kiss my singular ass.

So, you can imagine how cloying and perverse I find this Obama crowd and their “We Are One” mentality. More so, I find it alarming that this compulsion towards tribalism is a signature feature of muslim/arab society.

I ran into an article that I printed out a few years back on the “arab personality” that, at the time, provided me with much needed insight into the behavior of Islamists. It’s worth reading if you want to get a grasp of the muslims inverted sense of honor as well as their disconcerting similarities to the left. It appears that mohammad (spit) found in Arabs a society quite amenable to the claustrophobic conrtol that Islam exerts, just as the left finds comfort in such fatuous notions of “the greater good” or the idea of sacrificing “the one for the all.”

Here are a couple excerpts:

Arab society is tribal-nomadic, with its outstanding trait being clan loyalty and the anarchy of the desert. Most of its values were shaped in the jahiliyah age before Islam. The important values in Arab conceptions and behavior reflect the pre-Islamic ideals. In the jahiliyah age, “The Arabs did not know Allah and his Messenger and the rules of the religion.”

Despite their desert character, the city was the Arabs’ focus of change and political activity. Mecca was a center of trade and pilgrimage, since it was on the caravan routes. Religion had secondary importance in jahili society. Religious customs were observed out of tradition and feelings of respect for forefathers, but religion was fetishist, and values were fatalistic, out of absolute faith in the decrees of fate. Secular values took a central place, and were expressed in the concept of manliness (muruwwah), which meant the whole set of traits of a perfect Bedouin. The most important framework was preserving tribal solidarity (`asabiyyah). The tribe was the foundation for personal and group existence.

The critical phenomenon in its importance to Arab-Islamic society is honor. A man’s honor is sharaf. It is flexible, dynamic, and subject to change in accord with his deeds. A woman’s honor is `ird (also meaning her pelvis). In contrast to a man’s honor, this is firm and permanent. The woman grows up with her honor, and her most important role is to preserve it.

The moment that a woman’s honor is lost, it cannot be restored, and a man’s honor is severely wounded. Indeed, Muslim society is based on the virginity of its daughters. Honor is the most important supreme value in Arab life, more important than life itself. A man without honor is considered dead. Hence the saying, “It is better to die with honor than live with humiliation.” A man’s place in the tribe, as well as the tribe’s place among the tribes, was according to the measure of his and its honor. When honor was harmed, shame was caused which originated in public exposure, overt to everyone, a phenomenon which severely humiliated a man. Indeed, the Arab individual is caught up throughout his whole life in intensive activity to avoid shame and advance his honor. The central means for this was vengeance. Honor is restored only when vengeance has been carried out in public and is known to all.

Tribal tradition and clan loyalty had dominant influence in society. Likewise significant were blood ties within the extended family or the tribe, which determined group loyalties and identifications. Most of these social traits exist to this day, and influence the functioning of Arab society as a primordial system in which symbolic values are more important and esteemed than concrete values and the overall, holistic system of beliefs. This is “a shame society”, in which everyone must behave according to the accepted norms and internalize his own feelings in the system of group behavior.
