Mark Levin in his Liberty and Tyranny quotes Eric Hoffer:

“Those who see their lives as spoiled and wasted crave equality and fraternity more than they do freedom. If they clamor for freedom, it is but freedom to establish equality and uniformity. The passion for equality is partly a passion for anonymity: to be one thread of many who make up a tunic; one thread not distinguishable from the others. No one can then point us out, measure us against others and expose our inferiority.”

I speak to this reprehensible, inexplicable conformity into which the left most earnestly seeks to inter us. I have always, always reacted viscerally against the notion of the”tribe”. Even when I was in the culture’s grip, nothing in me welcomed the intrusive insistence that we are one, we are the world.
It is this seeming implacable compulsion to erase significance, much like the unwillingness to comprehend the necessity of recognizing those absolutes that – regardless the obdurate denial by leftists – govern this world. And it is quite incomprehensible to me. I wither inside at the thought of the collective. I have no use for groups, find them ominous actually- especially if they chant.

I always am amused when it is suggested that those on the right are indoctrinated. I would suggest that there are very few who escape indoctrination on some level, to some degree. When I was much younger I used to imagine who I would be had I never had my world delivered to me via media and a public education – both entities sacrificing truth in their deluded social engineering quest. When someone denigrates your beliefs by suggesting that you couldn’t possibly have assembled your own point of view is insult enough. But to somehow be so lacking in self-awareness as to imagine that you yourself hadn’t also been subject to some indoctrination is simply obtuse.

Thing is, life usually can strip away conditioning that isn’t congruent with reality, assuming you spend much time in reality, something the ruling political class does very little of. Reality will not march to the Progressive tune of uniformity. To achieve this idiotic utopia, coercion must be used. Brainwashing, manipulation, and most grotesque, in my view, ravaging the language. Something that is done at such an alarming pace now I wouldn’t be surprised if they banned the dictionary for being so absolutist. How dare any tome claim to define anything. All is relative, everything is everything…”and they shall call good evil, and evil good…”

In the seventies Neil Simon sang a certain sentiment that grated my every nerve. “If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with..” he pattered, putting into innocuous melody the mantra of faceless promiscuity. Nothing matters. No one person matters. Any pliant body will do. Love is relative. Everything is relative….

How insidiously quiet the shriveling of the human soul is, you seem never to hear the scream until it is fading away.

The Charles Johnson Syndrome in Conservatism

Astrophysicist and author David Brin has noted the prevalence of the imperative of “otherness” — the mandate that one must try to see any dispute from the other party’s viewpoint — among Americans generally, and particularly among Americans who identify themselves as liberals. When he first wrote of it, he said he’d found it to be so strong that it had sunk below the rational level in most of the people he knew, and operated essentially without conscious invocation. This is what I have come to call the CJS, or ‘Charles Johnson Syndrome’; when the inexorable detritus of liberal indoctrination leaves your everyday conservative defenseless in the face of the enemy, deprived of voice and sense after decades of leftist PC inculcation. In the case of LGF’s Charles Johnson, his liberal ideological underpinning proved to be far more deeply entrenched than his brief foray into conservatism could prevail against. Inevitably, the deeply held contempt for Christian-Judeo values that is preached incessantly to Americans from every media outlet their entire lives overruled any emerging comprehension of what he had for so long been trained to devalue. Eventually Charles dropped the demeanor of reasonable debate and became a little Blog-tator, weeding out of his robust conservative audience those who failed to adhere to Charles’s re-emerging amoral template.

A quick aside, commenting on this censorial nature of the left invites a topic too large to touch on here, and I do realize the right has resorted to a book-burning mentality often as well. However, I recall in the early months of my political awakening the utter confusion I experienced when these totalitarian traits came from what I had always assumed were liberal arenas, not having yet understood the transmogrification of liberalism. I feel safe saying that any ideology demanding suppression of opposing views has no Truth capable of contending on the battlefield. I have not called for censoring the left, but to ignore the fact that a reciprocal generosity is lacking is idiotic and obtuse. To subject oneself to the fallacy of hate legislation, the favored cudgel applied to “offensive” speech, under the pretense of practicing fairness, is to unleash the Orwellian whirlwind we now reap.

Getting back to the specific topic at hand, I ran into this CJS type “whirlwind” yesterday on Twitter, confronting in one woman this obdurate insistence that my conservative credentials (apparently someone is handing out certificates of conservative authenticity) were somehow faulty if I refuse to demonstrate tolerance for the gay class, or “the other” – a term condescendingly employed to ascribe a phobic aspect to perceived non-tolerance. Yet tolerance seems to have been redefined as acquiescence, a sacrifice of principles to the point of nullification in order to demonstrate some misguided notion of American ‘equality’ and ‘fairness’.

The same syndrome is rearing it’s nasty head via those ‘conservatives’ who denounce we who refuse to incorporate the same moral equivocation in evaluating the “religion” of Islam, accelerated by the Ground Zero Mosque desecration. Atlas Shrugs has battled against this dhimmitude for a decade. It seems that in order to prove that Americans are essentially such superior, moral people that we will permit our own destruction. But there is nothing morally superior about accepting evil as a valid member of the community. To be bereft of all means of judging is to stand defenseless against all onslaught, as if by stubbornly clinging to the notion of “American equality” that we need become supine inferiors, ashamed of our traditions and identity.

This touches on so many of the maladies that have innervated the normally strong American will. I am reminded of an explanation given about the OT telling of Sodom & Gomorrah. Skeptics ask how could Lot be considered a righteous man when he was so ready to offer his daughters for the erotic pleasure of the crowd of men beating at his door seeking the angels they’d observed entering. The answer given was that Lot was quite used to the soup he swam in, inured to the evil practiced around him.It did not occur to him as unreasonable or untoward to offer his daughters. I think that is quite true of the American conservative. We are no longer appalled, nor do we even recognize, the evil that now parades about in the light of day. Those who consider themselves conservative, who subscribe to the values inherent in the founding of America, none the less, are quite oblivious to the memes or precepts that we have absorbed in this innocuous, familiar soup that contradict the core of the values we seek to preserve.

I am not going to delineate my thinking on the gay issue in this post, but the fact that I was attacked by the twitter conservative as an “intolerant fundie” because I hold a certain opinion of homosexuality serves to spotlight the fissure that threatens any unity Conservatives might achieve. For me, it goes to foundational principles. A poorly laid foundation may temporarily support the edifice built on it, but inevitably defective material will imperil the integrity of the entire structure, ultimately leading to it’s collapse. The defective material conservatives innocently bring into the mix is our relationship with nihilism. We are quite used to it. It is a seductress whose call we have long listened to. It is that element of the homosexual question that I object to.

Homosexual marriage is favored by the Left because of this nihilistic instinct, because of its potential to dismantle a natural-law-based, Judeo-Christian Civilization. Monogamous, heterosexual, child-centered marriage is the building block of the Left-detested real world it is bent on annihilating.

A ruling that declares the State to be indifferent to the fruit of the family has struck the heart of the Left’s enemy. The practical conclusion is that self-contained gratification is of equal value as children.

Nihilism is advanced by the homosexual marriage debate because it affords the Left with “proof” of the evils of America. Far from being superior to other cultures, we still persecute the “other,” we are shown to be religious obscurantists, bigots, and even hypocrites since we criticize Islamic countries in which homosexuals are hung, but outlaw homosexual marriage. The Left deftly convinces Americans that only by shedding their traditional morals will they demonstrate true enlightenment, freedom, and what we heretofore falsely touted as national respect for freedom. The nihilism inherent in homosexuality inevitably expresses itself in an enervated feminized society – regardless of how nice and clever and engaging it’s denizens are. And may I head off at the pass the accusation that by saying all of this, I am advocating for the eradication of gays. I most emphatically am not. But attempting to normalize an aberrant sexual behavior necessitates distorting reality to the point where the elitists now freely seek to convince us sheeple that there are no gender differences at all, as if by developing a “body of research” attached to a PHD is sufficient voodoo to belie reality.

The power of the Leftist culture lies in the illusion of its undisputed veracity.This illusion needs to be shattered.

Cultural Marxism

No one’s got it non-stop,
for keeps.

Day after day,
year after year
may pass without it.

Sometimes
it will settle for awhile
only in childhood’s fears and raptures.
Sometimes only in astonishment
that we are old.

It rarely lends a hand
in uphill tasks,
like moving furniture,
or lifting luggage,
or going miles in shoes that pinch.

It usually steps out
whenever meat needs chopping
or forms have to be filled.

For every thousand conversations
it participates in one,
if even that,
since it prefers silence.

Just when our body goes from ache to pain,
it slips off-duty.

It’s picky:
it doesn’t like seeing us in crowds,
our hustling for a dubious advantage
and creaky machinations make it sick.

Joy and sorrow
aren’t two different feelings for it.
It attends us
only when the two are joined.

We can count on it
when we’re sure of nothing
and curious about everything.

Among the material objects
it favors clocks with pendulums
and mirrors, which keep on working

It won’t say where it comes from

If there was ever any question, she’s always had talent. In a 25-year-old video that recently surfaced, a fresh-faced Susan Boyle – just 22 at the time – takes the stage at a local Scottish club looking trim and youthful.

In the clip from Scotland’s Daily Record, the Britain’s Got Talent star sings “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” from Jesus Christ Superstar and Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were” in the Motherwell FC’s Fir Park Social Club singing contest. Boyle, now 47, had been a late addition to the local singing team, Coventry Tam O’Shanter, after someone had dropped out.

“I can remember that she was a shy young girl, but also very attractive back then – she turned a few heads when she came into the club,” school caretaker Gerry McGuinness, 61, told the Daily Record of her appearance, 10 years before she would take singing lessons. He was there for the performance and dug up an old tape after seeing Boyle on TV more recently.

“Even back then, I don’t think anyone expected too much from her because she was so shy, but when she began singing people took notice,” he said. “It’s great Susan is finally getting some recognition. She is a great singer and it seems right that at some point she would get the credit she deserved.”

‘The Last Man’.

I have thought that the major part of what made Eutopia pacifist was the protection afforded by the US Military, freeing them from the expense of providing for their own defense and allowing them to indulge in Socialist welfare statism and feel good smug superiority over the cowboys standing on guard against the Soviet Communists, much like the thirty something ‘man’ living in his mom’s basement. Seems like that might have been just an enabler of sorts but not a cause of the Eu disease of emasculation and impotence.

I came across Life on Venus: Europe’s Last Man by Adam Kirsch via ALDaily and though it’s longish it’s well worth the time spent if you want a superb analysis through Nietsche’s Zarathustra, Fukuyama and three of the greatest Eu novelists of the last fifty years, Ian McEwan, W G Sebald and Michel Houellebecq.

The twentieth century, of course, did not turn out to be the age of the Last Man after all. The two world wars and the global violence of the Cold War demonstrated to anyone’s satisfaction that irrationality and cruelty, which Nietzsche feared were dwindling resources, still flourished in abundance just underneath the thin crust of modern civilization. But then came 1989 and the end of history—or at least The End of History and the Last Man, as Francis Fukuyama put it in his influential book. It is almost always referred to simply by the first part of its title; to his critics, Fukuyama is the man who declared “the end of history,” triumphally and, needless to say, prematurely.

But the second part of the book’s title is actually more telling, and more representative of Fukuyama’s argument. No sooner had humanity emerged from a century of hot and cold wars than Fukuyama was resurrecting Nietzsche’s admonition that a world of peace and prosperity would be a world of Last Men. “The life of the last men is one of physical security and material plenty, precisely what Western politicians are fond of promising their electorates,” he pointed out. “Should we fear that we will be both happy and satisfied with our situation, no longer human beings but animals of the species homo sapiens?”

While Fukuyama appreciates the seriousness of the Nietzschean warning, he hears it from the perspective of a partisan, not a foe, of liberalism. The danger he foresees is not simply that bourgeois democracy will cause human beings to degenerate, but that degenerate human beings will be unable to preserve democracy. Without the sense of pride and the love of struggle that Fukuyama, following Plato, calls thymos, men—and there is always an implication that thymos is a specifically masculine virtue—cannot establish freedom or protect it:

That’s a taste of what the article is about. It is interesting to one such as me who doesn’t have time to read novels anymore to have reconfirmed Milan Kundera’s assertion in The Art of the Novel, one of my favourite books by the way, that the novel was invented to say what philosophy, because of its technical nature, could not about history and the human condition.

Obama, Spit Be Upon Him.

If this is all true it makes Obama the most despicable, miserable excuse for a human being America has ever had in public life.
The problem with him is that he’s not just anti-American, he just isn’t an American period. He has no knowledge of its history, its people, its Constitution, it Judeo-Christian heritage, nothing.

Interesting comments in the linked article, some saying that in some ways it will be good for Israel to be independent of the US, I can see that but it sure won’t be easy for them. So if Israel should bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities, what do you suppose Obama’s response would be? This is some disaster in the making and all because Obama has no brains, no morals and the twisted thinking of the great brainwashed of the left. It’s past time the rest of the Anglosphere got its act together to oppose the real idiot in the White House.

Those Evil Europeans

This is just so muslim-like; the destruction of cultural artifacts, the revision of history, the maniacal reach of castrated men seeking power. But then, what doesn’t the left do that isn’t congruous with the goals and tenets of Islam. And we who were not idiotic enough to vote for Obama have long known of his affinity for all things Islamic. An affinity that will only serve to accelerate the pace at which America is being destroyed. So when I read of Chavez’s latest purge of history I can’t help but fear what American treasure the ravenous hordes of Obamanites, along with all their muslim accomplices, will ravage.

Big Bad European

Be that as it may, Chavez, demonizing Christopher Columbus as the bastard who opened the door for all of us vile  Europeans, will remove the last remaining statue of  that evil explorer. Well, let’s see, Obama already sent the bust of Churchill packing. I have no doubt more of America’s revered personages shall be removed from sight or erased from history simply for the sin of their tainted European blood. But, only Caucasians are racists, don’cha know?

Chavez and Obama are but two heads of a hydra headed socialist serpent coiled in a tightening death grip around the throat of civilization in every Western nation. And still, 1/2 of all Americans applaud their coming slaughter, singing hosannas to the men who wield the swords.

Slain Prophets

Mt. Olive

Now I am not particularly well versed in the Bible. I used to know it fairly well though and if memory serves there is a scene, in Revelations I think, that describes the murder or slaughter of two prophets in Israel, not sure where there, but in some holy place in Israel. The verses suggest that the entire world would witness it, thus placing that prophecy in the realm of the impossible until, of course, the invention of television.

What brings this up is this site I ran into for Christians praying for Israel, appropriately named IPray TV.  It features live web cams of Mt. Olive, Golgotha, and other holy sites,  and I am wondering if one of these locations is where those prophets are to be slain. If so, these web cams will certainly broadcast that event globally.

That would be so incredibly bizarre to witness.

Opting Out.

A while back in an e-mail, Zee expressed an interest in finding a piece of land on which to live, grow vegetables and fruit, keep chickens and a couple of cows partly in order to become less dependent on government services and utilities. Well there is an interesting post and comments at Fresh Bilge on the subject and on opting out of the system as much as possible, lying low as some call it. Though I haven’t done much posting lately I think we bloggers are by definition ‘involved’ in our communities and our country and all without need of community organizers. We are ‘free spirits’ in some respects, independent by nature and our involvement is the necessary means to ensure that we and our friends and neighbours can stay that way, no ‘community organizing’ for us, we’d rather allow others to figure out for themselves what is in their best interest and if they or we fail sometimes well that’s the price we pay to learn. The socialists and community organizers will only lead you down a dead end street.

O/T but I found this amusing. On Valentine’s Day the local Classics radio station was taking requests and dedications from listeners all day. One guy phoned in and started, “My name is John Rainbow, R-a-i-n b-o-w”.
Firstly who wouldn’t know how to spell rainbow, then who the hell does he think would be interested and lastly there is all that technology in use and thousands of people listening while he takes the time to slowly spell out his name. It’s a bit like those in the supermarket who will leave their cart at an angle in the middle of the aisle while they saunter off to find something, or the cab drivers who stop three feet from the kerb to pick up a passenger, a complete unawareness or care on what is going on around them. Maybe it’s not so O/T, maybe it’s like a personal opting out or an ersatz opting out when the real thing is unobtainable.

Thoughts on the Operation

I saw lies. The world is already trying to fault Israel, telling everyone that civilians died here, and Israelis murdered there, But I was there. My feet were on the ground and I saw the truth. I saw that warnings were given, I saw the enemy that fought us. I saw the twelve year olds with missiles and RPGs strapped to their backs. I saw that it was with sadness and great anger Israeli troops saw the need to fire on people who crossed the red line, the danger zone which meant they saw us, and knew where they were. Old people mined with bombs, children armed with detonators, tunnels that opened in the ground to swallow soldiers of ours.

I watched my commanders passing out all of our food to the children who were taken prisoner. I received the commands “closed to fire on the right” if our intelligence had reported civilians in the area. I watched us, more often then not, taking cover when supposed civilian positions fired on us from the right. Yet the world thinks it can bend the truth. We were not allowed to fire on schools. We were told not to loot. We watched in anger as our bombs, so as not to fall on large civilian centers, fell on our own troops, so that we could tell the world we were attempting to scare the enemy while limiting civilian losses. Yet they won’t say that in the press.

I saw cowardice. We listened with concern when Hamas threatened to use snipers and bombs on us, to fight us every step of the way with their fifteen thousand man army, and we watched videos of full brigades parading, waving their weapons and threatening Israel. But as we invaded, they fled. They would attack in small groups, hit us with missiles and sniper fire, and then flee. The ‘warriors’ of Hamas were brave when their rockets fell unanswered on the schools of children and the homes of elderly, but they did not stand when the enemy called them up to answer for their crimes.

I saw miracles. Rockets that blazed past our houses, bullets that scarred the outside of windows we were watching from. A unit near ours that was walking in had RPGs pass straight between their ranks without hitting a single soldier. Mines that didn’t explode, mortar rounds that landed next to friends that didn’t explode. RPGs that blazed into the earthen barrier directly in front of our APC, detonating before penetration. The night walk through a neighborhood that wasn’t on the map, that was full of snipers and mines, according to reports, that we walked through unawares, by accident, without harm or incident. And that was just a taste of what we knew.

Hating Jews

The bulletin posted below is reproduced in full from the Political Islam newsletter. I highly recommend clicking that link and making it a regular read. Political Islam’s Bill Warner was a guest on Always on Watch yesterday, providing an hour packed solid with analysis and information, though all of it unnerving. All the more so given the white flag obama has raised to the muslim world. As Bill comments near the end of the show, he fears our present government more than he does the islamists.

The term “antisemitism” just doesn’t cut it. It sounds so innocuous. What is emerging represents centuries of enmity erupting again, a mere 60 years after the Holocaust, the holocaust that Ahmadinejad has labeled a Jewish ruse, a lie foisted on the world by the West, Yes, this is the man to whom Obama extended a hand. But then, come to think of it, after 20 years of Reverend Wright, Ahmadinejad just may seem like a fellow parishioner to Obama.

So as you read, understand that what comes to Israel, comes to America, and we have a “president” who seems intent on paving the way.

Two synagogues and a Jewish school in the Chicago area were vandalized on Jan. 10. The graffiti included hate messages directed at Israel for its invasion of the Gaza Strip. A week before, bomb threats were made to several Chicago-area Jewish schools. And on Dec. 29, a man threw a Molotov cocktail at the outside wall of Temple Sholom of Chicago.

In Carmel, California, five youths were arrested for vandalizing three (Jewish) peers’ homes over the weekend and face possible hate crime charges.

Monroe, New York – Monroe Village Police have charged a 14-year-old Monroe youth in connection with etching a 20-foot-by-20-foot swastika in the snow on one of the downtown ponds where people skate.

A Brockton (MA) man accused in a rape and double murder reportedly told police that he intended to kill as many Jews as possible, then kill himself, in what he called a fight “for a dying race.”

Police say anti-Semitic graffiti was found scrawled along the walls of a Crown Heights subway station.

Some passages from school textbooks in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia incite hatred and violence. The offending passages include those that incite hatred and violence against Jews.

It doesn’t take any special knowledge of intelligence, or any security clearance, at all, to know what’s been happening to Israel. It is white guilt and delusional visions of war (as detailed in the laughable Geneva Conventions), through and through, and it is happening inside Israel as much as in the US. The US has been trying to abandon Americans (and worse) with the various pushes for amnesty for illegals and paths to citizenship, so an abandonment of Israel should not be surprising to anyone.

The modern push has been to destroy the viability of all nation-states and to treat the concept of national sovereignty as a joke. This is the guilt-ridden, Utopian-driven post-WWII West doing what it is driven to do … and it is suicidal.

Palestine is a Myth and Hamas Nothing But Bloody Islamic Terrorists

I am so bloody tired of the appeasers. So tired of those who embrace evil, calling it compassion, who extend understanding towards terrorists and revile their own traditions and culture. That would, unfortunately, describe half of America – the half that voted Obama. I’d bet good money that the majority of those whining about the poor “palestinians” come from that faction of ignorant saps.

Palestine is a myth. Pure and simple. Hamas is a proxy for Iran and Iran is an islamic bully who has unequivocally declared that their avowed goal is the destruction of the West, particularly Israel and America.

Islamic cleric Salah Sultan appeared on Egypt’s Al-Nas TV last week and delivered a warning of death and destruction for America. Not only did he attack the U.S. for its military support of Israel in its fight against the Hamas terrorist organization, but he vowed retaliation such that more Americans would be killed than those Palestinians (and, presumably, Hamas terrorists) killed in the present conflict in Gaza, emphasizing that this would take place “soon”:

America, which gave [Israel] everything it needed in these battles, will suffer economic stagnation, ruin, destruction, and crime, which will surpass what is happening in Gaza. One of these days, the U.S. will suffer more deaths than all those killed in this third Gaza holocaust. This will happen soon.

He also invoked a notorious Islamic hadith on the inevitable annihilation of the Jews by Muslims:

The stone, which is thrown at the Jews, hates these Jews, these Zionists, because Allah foretold, via His Prophet Muhammad, that Judgment Day will not come before the Jew and the Muslim fight. The Jew will hide behind stones and trees, and the stone and the tree will speak, saying: “Oh Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.” The only exception will be the Gharqad tree. Rummaging through my archives I ran across an old draft from 2002 that included the two excerpts reproduced below. I remember once being appalled by such pronouncements – now I understand that nothing sane ever comes out of the mouth of a muslim.

That is the voice of Islam. Arrogant barbarity. It hasn’t changed in a thousand years, and it certainly hasn’t changed since 2002. Islamic jihad is what is operative in Palestine right now. Not deranged Jews licking their chops over Palestinian dead, but the legitimate nation of Israel defending itself against the mental and spiritual pygmies of the middle east. Pygmies, such as those depicted in this video, chanting that Jews should be returned to the ovens, yet, no doubt, these are the  same cretins who bellow about hate speech when confronted with the truth about their deplorable “religion”.

In 2002 I was still confident that America had at least a decade before Islam could approach the level of toxicity here that it has achieved in Great Britain. Back then I thought that, surely, Americans would wake up. After all, videos like the one below are a dime a dozen. It’s pop culture for jihadists, to savor the death of the West, to hunger for the annihilation of our freedom and prosperity. But seven years later, Americans remain woefully ignorant. Or completely indifferent.

And then there is more intimidation from Obama’s legal strong arms, this latest incident a none to subtle attempt to dissuade a student from investigating ongoing, ACORN initiated voter fraud in Ohio – yet one more assault on free speech rendered by the Obama “Truth Squads”.

I can not help but think what astounding similarities these Obamanites share with Islam’s religious police, rendering punishment whenever offense is given, correcting non conforming behavior – Obama’s Youth Corp will no doubt be churning out thousands of these pathetic, gutted automatons. They’ll have no fealty to country, nurture no love for family, or ever be permitted to think one original thought. All is sacrificed – soul, sanity, and will – to serve “The One” for the “greater good”.

Obama is reaching out to your kids again. Obama likely drools over the thought of educating the children, at least the ones that survive their mother’s wombs.

The following, quite frankly, curdles my blood. I remember being repelled to my core when I first read of Hitler’s Youth – children indoctrinated to spy on their parents, to see their parents as “other”. How could I have ever imagined that one day my grandchildren would face the same specter, not because America was conquered, but because we elected a man who has all the makings of a fascist tyrant.

The teachers in German schools began to teach the children to sing songs in praise of Hitler. This was the beginning of the Hitler Youth movement. It began with praise of the Fuhrer’s programs on the lips of innocent children. Hymns in praise of Hitler and his programs were being sung in the schoolrooms and in the playyard. Little girls and boys joined hands and sang these songs as they walked home from school.

My brother came home and told Papa what was happening at school. The political hymns of children proclaimed Change was coming to our homeland and the Fuhrer was a leader we could trust.

A 26-YEAR-old Jordanian man was charged with murder today after his 23-year-old sister was shot dead in an apparent “honour” killing.
The unnamed suspect allegedly shot his sister six times last night in the Nqeira area south of the capital Amman, a security official said.

“He turned himself in and confessed to murdering his sister to cleanse his family’s honour because she disappeared from home for four months with a man,” the official said.

“He killed her the moment she returned home last night. But forensic tests showed that the girl was a virgin.”

It was the eighth reported so-called honour killing this year, according to Jordanian authorities which in 2007 recorded 17 such murders – a slight rise on previous years.

Those convicted in such cases often receive light sentences because parliament has twice refused to reform the penal code, despite pressure from human rights groups to end the near impunity of perpetrators.

A Black man on a Philadelphia subway train told his little boy to go sit down. Then he took out a hammer and started brutally attacking an innocent passenger, DeWayne Taylor, also Black, who was dozing off, and beat him senseless, as the entire train car full of passengers did nothing and walked away.

But here’s the important part: The victim said that throughout the entire attack, the man with the hammer was chanting Arabic and saying, “Allah.” Watch the video report:

The Darul-Uloom Hijaziya Chishti, Mumbai, urges a religious boycott of the entire Khan family for celebrating the Hindu festival at their home

Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood scriptwriter Salim Khan, the father of actor Salman Khan, on Friday questioned a fatwa, religious edict, against him by some Muslim organisations for celebrating Ganeshotsav at their home here.

“What is the locus standi of these people? Who are they to question people’s religious beliefs? Why don’t they issue such a ‘fatwa’ against terrorists and terrorism, which is un-Islamic? The clerics are talking nonsense,” he thundered before a television channel on Friday evening.

Mufti Manjar Hassan Khan Ashrafi Misbahi, the chief of Darul-Uloom Hijaziya Chishti, Mumbai, issued the ‘fatwa’ urging a religious boycott of the entire Khan family on Wednesday.

Last week, the Khan family was in the limelight when all members along with friends and relations celebrated the Ganeshotsav festival at their home in Bandra, northwest Mumbai.
