Later this month it’s Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. It’s one of the holiest days of the Jewish calendar, so I’d be obliged, please, if you’d all stay at home, turn off the TV and refrain from your usual activities. Ten days after that it’s Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, when Jews fast and spend the day in synagogue. So I’ve also asked my Times colleagues not to work then. And I will be mightily offended if I learn afterwards that any of them have been eating.

You might not think I am being serious. But if I was Head of Democratic Services at Tower Hamlets Council in East London, I would be. Last week John Williams e-mailed each of the borough’s 51 councillors with a similar instruction.

For the duration of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month, they are, he told them – every one of them, Muslim, Catholic, Jew or atheist – to behave during council meetings as strict Muslims. They are not to eat or drink; they are to break for Muslim prayers; they are to do as they are ordered by the Muslim religion.

White History Course: Perhaps Not a Bad Idea

I have read too much material written by smug little intellectuals condemning whites for their supposedly indelible, inherent racist nature. I have become aware of far too many young Americans buying into the white guilt trip, ready to denigrate America based on the revisionist history fed to them at the public school trough. I have read too many accounts of slavery that totally exclude the history of arab, black and muslim slave traders, and I have read too many black writers who have no interest in equality, just payback. And then, there is the revelation of the blacks who subscribe to “Reverend” Wright’s liberation theology.

Whereas once I may have looked askance at the proposal for a white history course, I am coming to believe that it is necessary and perhaps, overdue.

The British National Party is to launch a ‘white history’ project as a counter to the announcement that the state is to make the learning of ‘black history’ compulsory at all UK schools.

The white history project will consist of a series of downloadable articles on great contributions to the world by white British and European peoples, the detailing of the far bigger Muslim slave trading empire and promotions on books dealing with white history.

To counter this overt anti-white guilt trip propaganda, the BNP will start running downloadable features on its web site detailing important contributions made to the world by white British people, and also of how much the world owes European civilisation in general.

Machiavelli is not the only sage who recognized it, but he put it nicely: “Man is more inclined to do evil than to do good.” Rational statecraft starts right there.

The American Founders knew it: recognizing man’s innate capacity for evil, they designed a system of checks and balances to thwart the accumulation of power by any group, lest the entire enterprise fall into wicked hands. They knew the battle for liberty would never end, Benjamin Franklin famously warned we would have to fight to keep our republic.

Georgia: Not Quite as Putin Intended.

In spite of Akira’s valiant attempts to portray Putin as a master strategist and the aggrieved party to the conflict, the consequences are beginning to be more in line with my views than his.

First from AP:

TBILISI, Georgia (AP) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel is offering strong support for Georgia, saying the country is on track to become a member of NATO.

Merkel flew to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi on Sunday, two days after she met with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

In a speech Sunday, Merkel also suggested that NATO could help rebuild the tattered Georgian military.

Merkel supports the EU cease-fire, saying it needs to be followed “immediately” and that Russian troops need to pull out of neighboring Georgia.

Ukraine has agreed to take part in a missile defence system designed by the United States to protect Western countries. The government in Kiev defended its decision for military co-operation with the West, saying Russia cancelled a bilateral treaty with Ukraine earlier this year.

A few days ago, Poland and the United States reached agreement on the siting of missiles on Polish territory. These, together with radar installations in the Czech republic, make up the missile shield. Russia is fiercely opposed to the defence system and has threatened retaliatory measures.

The Ukrainian offer to co-operate with the US on the shield comes as the situation surrounding Russia’s military operations in Georgia is increasingly tense. Ukraine’s pro-Western President Viktor Yushchenko has strongly criticised Russia and is threatening to impose restrictions on Russian navy vessels’ use of the port of Sebastopol in Ukraine.

Victor Davis Hanson weighs in and I think more highly of his views than those of most other commentators on the world scene.

We are a little more than a week into the crisis, and already Russia has already gotten itself more than just fights with Georgia—but also issued creepy threats to Poland over missiles, and to the Ukraine over naval bases. Putin has galvanized into panic most of Eastern Europe and the Baltic states, prompted a radical change of policy in the United States, and embarrassed its once sure support from the appeasement bloc of the European Union. What will next week bring? A Georgian insurgency, replete with stingers, anti-tank guns, and ieds? Increased arms sales to the former republics? Tougher talk from Obama?

As I tried to explain in my comments on my previous post, Russia had a golden opportunity to become a normal civilized country, allies with the Anglosphere, and Putin has thrown it all away, and for what? Dreams of a New Russian Empire, controller of energy supplies to EUtopia and therefore having the EU countries under his thumb, aiding the enemies of the US with the aim of bogging down the US Military and economy in countering Iran, Syria, NK etc.
Vladimir old friend, you should have got your own country’s problems fixed before taking on the rest of the world and the US in particular. You are as dependent on supplying oil and gas to EUtopia as they are on being supplied, you don’t really have much else going for you, not even the Western capitalists eager to help you develop your economy in a more diversified way, you’ve pissed them off right royally, not to mention scared the shit out of them.
The invasion of Georgia is a colossal blunder because it has shown that there is no reason to hope that Russia can be a reliable partner in anything for the foreseeable future. Prospects for the Russian people got bleaker last week.

A powerful state which, like contemporary Russia, is eager to play on the inevitable ethnic difficulties of its neighbours — to abet those problems, as the Russians have done, and then use them as pretext for the invasion and dismemberment of a much smaller neighbour — is regardless of its size and constitution, behaving as a rogue state.

We cannot continue to act on the polite assumption that Vladimir Putin and his minions (including the current nominal president, Dmitry Medvedev), are honourable. “Realism” requires that we act henceforth on the assumption that they aren’t.

As Kagan notes, born-again autocracy masquerading as a respectable alternative to Western-style government is a dangerous ideological rival to liberal democracy. Any others? Well, there’s militant, theocratic Islam, a self-evident rival since the Iranian revolution of 1979. Tribalism is another obvious rival, though probably self-limiting. Competing tribal doctrines might ignite cruel little wars, but lack the monolithic force of totalitarian ideologies. Actually, a European Union-type of techno-corporate state seems a greater threat to a free society. The EU’s kind of supra-national bureaucracy, less bloody and more sophisticated than a communist state, is nearly as coercive and more likely to succeed.

I think the force with the greatest capacity for becoming a threat to liberal democracy is liberalism itself — meaning loony-liberalism, a kind of ideological ménage à trios between Timothy Leary, Karl Marx and Al Gore, at once passionate and arid, that in Western societies has all but captured the educational and judicial machinery of the state. In some, it’s a virtual state religion, whose matriarchal, environmentalist, multicultural, anti-male, anti-family, anti-individual and public-hygiene shibboleths are enforced by Orwellian regulatory agencies, commissions and tribunals, better known as the smoke-, smut-, seat-belt-, thought-, language-and calorie-police.

It’s good to remember that we are not small in numbers, we who fight against encroaching totalitarianism, and we have many wise people* on our side. Wisdom, now there’s something in short supply on the left, cleverness and arrogance they have by the bucketful, but wisdom? They don’t even have doubts.

Israelis are a fractious people; maybe not quite as fractious as Arabs, but close. When Israel’s major political parties agree on something, as Labour, Likud and Kadima agreed this week that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert made the right decision to resign in the fall, it’s not a sign of harmony but trouble.

The Olmert-period’s dismal record is a symptom rather than the cause of Israel’s 60th anniversary turning into a crisis-year. What is the cause? It may be the political equivalent of metal fatigue. Few nations have been stressed for as long as Israel. Or perhaps a structural flaw is revealing itself after five generations.

That’s what some Israeli commentators think. “The greatest destabilizing factor has been the proportional representational system inflicted upon us by our Zionist founding fathers,” writes Isi Leibler in the Jerusalem Post. “This inherent weakness of the system was concealed during the early years of the state because the leaders then … would never contemplate promoting their personal agendas above the welfare of the nation …” What if the flaw goes deeper? When Israel — not the state, but the wishdream — was founded at a conference organized by Theodor Herzl 111 years ago in Basel, Switzerland, the delegates wore pins whose German text reflected Herzl’s most fundamental belief: “The only solution to the Jewish question is the establishment of a Jewish state.”

The “Jewish question” was, of course, antiSemitism.

Today we know that Herzl and the Basel delegates were mistaken. Whatever else the Jewish state may have achieved, it didn’t solve the “Jewish question.” If anything, establishing Israel spread anti-Semitism from Europe to the Middle East. More accurately, it intensified existing Arab/Muslim anti-Semitism to European/Christian levels and beyond, without reducing it elsewhere.

Hindsight is blindingly bright. Even so, I confess that if I had been a columnist or “feuilletonist” in 1897, as Herzl was, I too would have written that a Jewish state would solve the Jewish question. The difference is that, unlike Herzl, I would then have called the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine a juvenile fantasy, an impossible pipe dream.

Herzl was wrong on one count. I would have been wrong on two.

The 19th century was ending when Herzl wrote a fellow Zionist that even if they wouldn’t see the Promised Land with their beards still black, they’d see it when their beards were white. Had the founder of Israel lived to be 87, he would have been right. As it turned out, his beard was still black when he died at 44.

By the time Israel’s blue-and-white banner ran up a flagpole, few Zionists sported beards of any colour. The old guard didn’t because it was mostly dead, and the new guard didn’t because beards were no longer fashionable. Any beards still in evidence on May 14, 1948, would have been snow-white. The dream of Herzl’s generation took about 60 years to mature into a country.

Since that day another 60 years have passed — enough time to turn another set of beards white, although a mere blink of an eye in the life of a nation. Yet the news from Israel often mimics an old nation’s news — an old and exhausted nation. Israelis aren’t without flashes of “black-bearded” vigour in non-fiction, documentaries or music, but they increasingly write a white-bearded country’s fiction and produce a white-bearded country’s movies.

I saw one the other day, called The Bubble, by Eytan Fox and Gal Uchovsky. Released nine months ago, it’s a very stylish, contemporary, entertaining, if ultimately tragic, story of gay love, set against the backdrop of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The Bubble is about good guys and bad guys, like most movies. The good guys are casual, sensitive, epicurean and mainly homosexual; the bad guys are conventional, intense, political and mainly heterosexual. For good guys, life is about sex, drugs, beach parties and getting a fashion designer’s job in London or Paris; for bad guys, it’s about securing and segregating countries, communities and families in Palestine or Israel. Good guys make love; bad guys make war.

Turning in his grave is Herzl. For his post-Zionist great-great-grandchildren, the Middle East conflict isn’t about “the Jewish question” — people awash on a sea of hatred trying to get into a lifeboat and people trying to beat them back. They don’t see it as a conflict between Arabs and Israelis, anti-Semites and Jews, disenfranchised colonials and imperialist colonizers, defenders of Islam and usurpers of the Hebraic faith or even between straights and gays. The filmmakers’ well-crafted opus sees a conflict only between the repressed “Right” and the libidinal “Left” — between fanatics who prefer blowing each other up, and hedonists who prefer giving each other blow jobs.

Films like The Bubble signal twilight countries in sunset periods. They aren’t bad films; on the contrary, they’re good. That’s the problem. For such films to come from beleaguered Israel doesn’t augur well for the Jewish state. Think of French and Italian cinema. Fighting the worst wars and making the best movies about them is the specialty of losers.

Bush and Obama: Betraying America

Richard Falknor at Blue Ridge Forum speaks of Bush’s legacy. Personally, I will remember (and curse) him for his betrayal of America. But in his many egregious perfidies, he is only one in a succession of leaders who have brought this country to it’s present angle of descent. It matters little if that descent is rapid (Obama) or slow (McCain). The forces working against America are legion and the momentum they have achieved, the powers that they have harnessed, are being met with no comparable opposing force.

Blue Ridge Forum will be tracking the fiscal and human costs to America of president Bush’s “legacy” efforts – - – in security as well as domestic matters.

The unstated assumption of these legacy initiatives must be – - – that most Americans in the future will share (at the very least) a center-left vision of the world as well as a soft multiculturalist perspective; that future writers will be kind to the Bush record after this president leaves office when partisan passions have cooled; and that America’s official chroniclers will then appreciate the president’s many legacies from his second term. Or so the reasoning of the White House would seem to go.

It is almost as if Bush is punting this country for Obama’s team to take it all the way over the edge.
PEPFAR (President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief), Bush’s bloated legislation that will bleed Americans in excess of 50 billion dollars, is a small part of his legacy, and his treachery.

“The Administration notes that the bill would authorize $50 billion for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria over five years—an amount significantly above the Administration’s $30 billion proposal.”

Most are aware of Bush’s obsession with squandering good treasure on AIDS in Africa. Few know about the blight of refugees pouring into this country under the aegis Bush’s beneficence, nor the incredible and mounting burdens those refugees have already, and will continue imposing on America.

Refugee resettlement in America is little mentioned in the press, per their usual self-imposed PC proscriptions. Thousands and thousands of African, primarily muslim, refugees have been pouring into America and now, due to the efforts of militant homosexual activists, we will now be importing refugees diagnosed as HIV positive. And you will be paying for their treatment.

Now comes a group called “Immigration Equality” that describes itself as follows:

Immigration Equality is a national organization fighting for equality under U.S. immigration law for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and HIV-positive individuals. Founded in 1994 as the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force, we have grown to a membership of 10,000 people in cities all over the country. ….

Immigration Equality helps Gays and Lesbians seek asylum in the US…. I guess their work must be stepped up in recent times as the internet is full of photos of gay men being hanged in Islamic countries like Iran.

Anyway here is what they are telling their members what the next step is to make sure the ban removal is fully implemented.
Update on Law lifting ban to allow HIV-positive immigrants to enter US

To hell with drilling, infrastructure, missile defense and bolstering our economy. Let’s just cure the whole freaking planet of AIDS.

S.2731 goes to the Senate floor on Monday and is expected to be signed into law by September because it is supported by the Bush Administration …

Here is the kicker (if $50 billion of our tax dollars wasn’t already) from the Congressional Budget Office:

….enacting S. 2731 would ……allow immigrants with HIV/AIDS to enter the United States. CBO estimates that providing certain benefits to those immigrants and their children would increase direct spending by less than $500,000 in 2010 and by $83 million over the 2010-2018 period.

Refugees are already coming here with HIV (and TB for that matter) despite the ban on foreigners with the disease from traveling or immigrating to the US. This bill would allow all immigrants to enter the US with HIV and be treated at taxpayer expense. I don’t think it takes a genius to see how this opens the door wide to more immigrants (including illegal immigrants) who will rush the gates and become dependent on our already overburdened health care system. It’s a damn shame that we are no longer as vigilant as we were when admitting immigrants on Ellis Island.

While admission decisions were made by the Immigration Service (IS), the law required medical inspection of immigrants by the United States Public Health Service (PHS). When a PHS medical officer formally diagnosed an immigrant with a disease or defect, throwing his or her admissibility into question, that individual was considered “medically certified.” The law required the PHS to issue a medical certificate to those who suffered from a “loathsome or a dangerous contagious disease” [1]. Exclusion of those diagnosed with infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, venereal disease, trachoma, and favus was mandatory [2].

The PHS defined its mission rather narrowly—preventing the entrance of disease to the nation—but PHS officers interpreted their job more broadly. In their eyes, the goal was to prevent the entrance of undesirable people—those “who would not make good citizens” [3]. In the context of industrial-era America, immigrants who would wear out prematurely, requiring care and maintenance rather than supplying manpower, would not make “good” citizens. By 1903 the PHS had elaborated two major categories: “Class A” loathsome or dangerous contagious diseases and “Class B” diseases and conditions that would render an immigrant “likely to become a public charge.” A subset of Class A conditions included mental conditions such as insanity and epilepsy. Today’s “progressive” would find such mandates “inhumane” and exclusionary. I say it is far more damning to destroy America’s fortunes and to plunge future generations into the desperately morose lives that comes from a world bereft of freedom, innovation, invention and vigor – all of which will be sacrificed on the bloody altar of the “greater good”.

Bush indeed has punted America to the other team. And he doesn’t much give a damn about how the game will end. Obama will run with Bush’s paltry 50 billion and, faux “messiah” that he is, he will multiply our debt and our taxes like Jesus multiplied the fish and bread. We will be awash in poverty. Our children’s burdens and deprivations shall runneth over.
And there will still be AIDS, and there will still be poverty. Only there will be no more a bright and shining city on a hill to serve as beacon for, not Obama hope, but the real hope that America once ineluctably embodied.

As the bombastic Barack Hussein Obama prattles on about Christians, Jews and muslims uniting, suggesting that there be no walls between us on his happy little planet, islam, a disease that rots and devours the very flesh of freedom, progresses with the insatiable fervor of a full blown cancer in every country that has allowed a muslim majority to grow.

And that is what the very dangerous Obama would continue to facilitate. Hell, he will accelerate it. After all, he has stated that the islamic call to prayer is the sweetest sound he has ever known. It doesn’t take much research to conclude that Obama is far more an enemy to Christians and Jews than he is an enemy of islam. Just as he is an enemy to all that America has stood for. He is a trojan horse, of that I have no doubt.

No Obama, I want walls, very high walls between me and my enemies. And I want advanced weaponry mounted on them. I want a wall between the slavery of of islam and socialism and the freedom and prosperity of America. Barack Obama’s European tour has only demonstrated how utterly imperative it is that he is soundly defeated. Erased. Shoved down the memory hole. Forever.

Barack Obama, why don’t you just go home?

Barack, your visit here is just a waste of time; you’re not wanted or needed here. We’ll do just fine without you and you’ll probably do better with out us, too. Don’t come around here making as if you’re looking out for the good of Israel. We know who you are and who your friends are. Zigzagging back and forth about dividing or un-dividing Jerusalem won’t clear your history.

I’m not talking about your middle name. Any good Christian might have the middle name Hussein (although I can’t think of any others). We won’t hold that against you. There are worse things than having an Arab name; like for instance being supported by a known Jew-hater, bigot Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, who among other statements has accused the Jews of bringing on the Holocaust through cooperation with Hitler – “They helped him get the Third Reich on the road.” But, of course, it would be wrong to hold that against you, because you haven’t been rallying for his support (recently).

We can’t really blame you for the beliefs of Father Michael Pfleger, who embraces Black Liberation Theology, which claims that Jesus was Black – so the Jews have no claim to Israel and, therefore, the Muslims are the rightful heirs of the Holy Land. Those beliefs have nothing to do with you, aside from the fact that you have coined the man your “moral compass.” But one must admit that Pfleger is not your only mentor and also is not alone in looking up to Farrakhan.

Your spiritual mentor is Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who has praised Jimmy Carter for denouncing Zionism. Last year, the Trumpet Newsmagazine of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to Louis Farrakhan and said that he is a man who “truly epitomized greatness.” You are a member of that Church and Jeremiah Wright is its leader and your spiritual adviser.

Now you won’t go so far as to criticize Jimmy Carter, not even for meeting with the heads of Hamas, because, to paraphrase your words, “It’s not your place to criticize him.” That is, not until the next day, when you were seeking the support of Jewish leaders. Then you must have found a new place for criticism. Aren’t the Jews great for giving a guy a new vision and a sense of self-confidence? Is that what you meant by, “It’s time for change”?

Barack Hussein, we won’t hold it against you. But can you tell us what you mean by supporting a Palestinian State along side Israel? Do you mean a replay of the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Gaza three years ago? Do you foresee soldiers carrying men, women and children away from their homes, which are to be demolished by bulldozers? Palestinian rule brought on the endless rocket fire on Sderot and the thousands of Jewish refugees who have yet to find permanent homes or means of a steady income. Is that your vision of a new hope that Farakkhan’s Final Call website praises you for?

Barack Hussein, why don’t you just go home? Your visit to Israel this week is not because you’re looking out for the wellbeing of Israel and the Jewish people. You’re coming to Israel looking for the Jewish vote; your goal is to speak with the Jewish American voters through the press coverage of this tour to the holy land. You want them to think that you took the time off from your busy campaign to further peace in the Middle East. Your hope is that enough stupid Jews will misread the message and take it as an act of support for Israel.

Don’t use us or our land as a photo-op to transmit a twisted call for support to Jewish-American voters. You don’t fool us. We know who you and your friends are.

Barack Hussein, why don’t you just go home? But on the way out, remember the words you heard here from the proud Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria: “This is our land!” We are back after two thousand years of forced exile and we are not about to leave it again.

The Prisoner Exchange. [Update]

Aurora had a thoughtful response to my post on the Israeli prisoner exchange.

Ligneus, I read this the other day (thought I’d commented then) and your first sentence here has been drifting around in my head. No I can’t condemn their decision either. Israel is such a just society which always tries to do what’s right. I do agree with you, however, that they are going to need to look at a change of policy. The lowlifes who are always after them to torture and destroy and wipe every last one of them out will never stop and especially in the face of Israel being seen as weak, which is how these people interpret the lack of a dynamic, swift reprisal.

I couldn’t reply because of the blog meltdown but here are some links to a number of interesting articles on the subject.

I like the ending:

For those concerned with the welfare and security of Israel, I propose two consolations. First, Israel remains a powerful country that can afford mistakes; one estimate even predicts it would survive an exchange of nuclear weapons with Iran, while Iran would not.

Second, the Kuntar affair could have a surprise happy ending. A senior Israeli official told David Bedein that, now out of jail, Israel’s obligation to protect Kuntar is terminated; on arrival in Lebanon, he became “a target for killing. Israel will get him, and he will be killed … accounts will be settled.” Another senior official added “we cannot let this man think that he can go unpunished for his murder of a 4-year-old girl.”

From the always interesting David Warren came this article with a different conclusion, one that justifies my uncharacteristic fence sitting.

Consider, for a moment, one of the celebrities the Israelis turned over. Sumil Kuntar murdered an Israeli family including a little girl in a terror operation at Nahariya in 1979. The details are horrific, and I won’t revisit them.

On Thursday, this man told Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV network, “To tell you the truth, we envy our enemies — the way they care for a body and will go to the end of the world in order to get it back.” He added that, reading in jail, he had come to feel, by comparison, the “disregard for human beings’ value in Arab countries,” mentioning specifically Egypt’s indifferent attitude towards its own soldiers, missing in action.

I intended the paradoxical conclusion, which I invite my reader to puzzle over. Here is one terrorist who may possibly have benefited from taking stock in jail, and has at least shown a particle of real courage in mentioning something that he learned. All of Lebanon may have gone to hell, yet this one man could be worth saving.

Why Are Americans So Willing to Give Up Freedom?

If you haven’t read Ligneus’s post on Adam Smith, do so. If men like that governed today in America, we wouldn’t have to deal with pompous pretenders like Obama or McCain. In the comments I remarked as follows:

“Must be the redneck in me, but i could never have conceived that so many would willingly throw down freedom”.

Indeed, it’s the fact that so many Americans are willing to allow the government to control their lives that has me flabbergasted. I have no answers for it, but “Just Another Richard” left an eloquent response, reproduced below.

Ah but zee, you fail to see the human capacity for self delusion, together with its ever faithful companion slothfulness. With a choice between a hard road and the easy way out, people will always rationalize the easy way…its so much simpler, after all, what’s to think about…be happy

The fact that, in the burdensome chores of struggle and endeavor, can be found our own redemption, where the sense of accomplishment can give meaning to existence, where the heavy load of actually thinking for yourself trains the mind to become self sufficient, to be an instrument of its own creation. To free the mind from the irrationality of conspiring minds and petty spiteful dogmas.

Now this does not always result in setting one’s self upon the right path, indeed, many an intellectual’s personal biography can attest to the wasted path to hedonism. But the mind, cautioned by reason and human dignity, aware of its own limitations in a cosmos of such vast and incomprehensible possibilities, does not flee from its own inconsequence, but embraces its own insignificance, for this in truth is what we are; to do otherwise is to rage against our very being, which as you can see, has such devastating and deleterious consequences, crushing aspiration and leaving shattered lives. Just look to those lost souls fleeing their very own lives in pursuit of a release by means of the excessive use of drink or drugs. There is nothing wrong in inconsequence, it is the natural state of being, IT IS LIFE. Those foolish ghosts, forever chasing the ephemeral illusion of fame, celebrity, fortune and power, are the natural born destroyers of what is most sacred in this earthly realm … LIFE.

Like many another, I too struggled in this life to find my meaning, to find my place, and just like most others, I too struggled with my fears, my failings and my doubts. But it was only when I reflected back upon my own soul, that I was able to discover myself. No outside bauble or trinket could satiate my hunger. No greater accumulation of wealth (hah…funny), no position of power in a hierarchy, could gain anything more than fleeting moments of respite from the longing. Only when I came to terms with myself, I cast off the goals of a shallow society, and recognized myself for what I was…just a simple individual, living out this tiny span, did I learn to accept myself on my terms and NOT someone else’s.

The fact that Marxism is a cult of death and destruction is obscured by the illusion that tomorrow we will be one step closer to Utopia if only we believe, is now indisputable and is the most cruel lie humanity could embrace. But for the mind that has cast aside all belief in any greater meaning, or indeed, any meaning, what is there left to do, for when such a mind looks inward it can be filled with nothing but fear and loathing, for there is nothing of substance to be found within; but to join in with the pack to create Utopia upon the hill tomorrow, gives meaning to an empty shell, a meaningless, and soul crushing existence, where that ultimate fear, greater even than the fear of death, must never be faced…the fear of facing one’s self.

I would only add that men cannot make the spiritual journey that Richard describes in a Marxist or Islamic society. The West grants men the freedom to find their way, or lose their way. Sadly, too many Americans are lost.

Barack Obama: The Un-American Trojan Horse

Obama, with his barely black (but extremely profitable) skin, apparently threw his white blood and American allegiances under the bus long ago. (Maybe that’s where the birth certificate he refuses to disclose is too). But the more you read about Obama, the more you realize how much he shares Michelle’s convoluted notion of pride. Me, if I had a father who abandoned me at birth, a man who used women like concubines and who finally dies an alcoholic in Africa, well, I certainly wouldn’t consider such a loser a point of inspiration. But then Michelle and Obama have a rather perverse view of what is inspiring (and the American way is not on that list)

The senior Obama, who died in an automobile accident in 1982 at the age of 46 was a dead-beat dad. At 18 he married his first wife Kezia in a tribal ceremony in Kenya. Five years later he abandoned his pregnant wife and her infant son and enrolled at the University of Hawaii where he met and married Ann Dunham of Wichita, Kansas and fathered Barak junior. He again abandoned his wife and young Barak at only 2-years old when he was granted an opportunity to attend Harvard. While at Harvard he met and married Ruth Nidesand. After finishing at Harvard he returned to Kenya. Ruth Nidesand followed him to Kenya, but he had already grown tired of her and they were soon divorced. The photo is Barak Obama at 10 years old with the one and only time he saw his father.

Barak, who idolizes his father fails to mention that the senior Obama was a committed Marxist and worked to bring about change that communist can believe in.(source)

A very extensive article by Greg Ranson at Presto Pundit , posted in April, gives a very in-depth analysis of Obama senior’s fervent love for all things communist – which goes a long way towards explaining why Obama feels so comfortable in the company of anarchists, socialists, muslims and marxists.

If this is the type of man who earns Obama’s love and devotion -a man who hates the West, who abandoned women impregnated by him all across the globe – I can see why Obama has such disdain for typical Americans who, rightly so, would view such a man with contempt. But, as we are often reminded by Michelle, the Obama family values are not American values.

Here is a sampling of what Obama senior believed and what Obama so ardently admires.

Obama,Sr. stakes out the following positions in his attacks on the white paper produced by Mboya’s Ministry of Economic Planning and Development:

1. Obama advocated the communal ownership of land and the forced confiscation of privately controlled land, as part of a forced “development plan”, an important element of his attack on the government’s advocacy of private ownership, land titles, and property registration. (p. 29)

2. Obama advocated the nationalization of “European” and “Asian” owned enterprises, including hotels, with the control of these operations handed over to the “indigenous” black population. (pp. 32 -33)

3. Obama advocated dramatically increasing taxation on “the rich” even up to the 100% level, arguing that, “there is no limit to taxation if the benefits derived from public services by society measure up to the cost in taxation which they have to pay” (p. 30) and that, “Theoretically, there is nothing that can stop the government from taxing 100% of income so long as the people get benefits from the government commensurate with their income which is taxed.” (p. 31)

4. Obama contrasts the ill-defined and weak-tea notion of “African Socialism” negatively with the well-defined ideology of “scientific socialism”, i.e. communism. Obama views “African Socialism” pioneers like Nkrumah, Nyerere, and Toure as having diverted only “a little” from the capitalist system. (p. 26)

5. Obama advocates an “active” rather than a “passive” program to achieve a classless society through the removal of economic disparities between black Africans and Asian and Europeans. (p. 28) “While we welcome the idea of a prevention [of class problems], we should try to cure what has slipped in .. we .. need to eliminate power structures that have been built through excessive accumulation so that not only a few individuals shall control a vast magnitude of resources as is the case now .. so long as we maintain free enterprise one cannot deny that some will accumulate more than others .. ” (pp. 29-30)

6. Obama advocates price controls on hotels and the tourist industry, so that the middle class and not only the rich can afford to come to Kenya as tourists. (p. 33)

7. Obama advocates government owned and operated “model farms” as a means of teaching modern farming techniques to farmers. (p. 33)

8. Obama strongly supports the governments assertion of a “non-aligned” status in the contest between Western nations and communist nations aligned with the Soviet Union and China. (p. 26)

It gets worse than that, so read it all.

Gaddafi Hopes Obama’s Supposed Support of Israel is Election Propaganda

Madman and dictator Col. Muammar Gaddafi, who once declared that “one day…Islam will disseminate its power over the European countries“, is ardently hoping that Obama’s pretense of supporting Israel is simply plain old election propaganda, as do all of Obama’s muslim supporters throughout the world. Gadaffi concludes that Obama’s “inferiority complex” prevents him from declaring camaraderie with Israel’s Palestinian enemies.

The more you dig, the more you discover that Barack Hussein Obama is like honey to a fly when it comes to attracting the support of muslims, terrorists and socialist scum. One wonders why his supporters remain oblivious. Of course, given that his primary base is composed of the hate-America crowd, they probably aren’t oblivious at all, just accepting.

There are elections in America now. Along came a black citizen of Kenyan African origins, a Muslim, who had studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia. His name is Obama. All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency. But we were taken by surprise when our African Kenyan brother, who is an American national, made statements that shocked all his supporters in the Arab world, in Africa, and in the Islamic world. We hope that this is merely an elections “clearance sale,” as they say in Egypt – in other words, merely an elections lie. As you know, this is the farce of elections – a person lies and lies to people, just so that they will vote for him, and afterwards, when they say to him: :”You promised this and that,” he says: “No, this was just elections propaganda.” This is the farce of democracy for you. He says: “This was propaganda, and you thought I was being serious. I was fooling you to get your votes.”

Allah willing, it will turn out that this was merely elections propaganda. Obama said he would turn Jerusalem into the eternal capital of the Israelis. This indicates that our brother Obama is ignorant of international politics, and is not familiar with the Middle East conflict.

Michelle Obama Promotes Ignorance and Paranoia

Here’s the wife of the Great Unifier, the Great Conciliator, the Great Educator who’s going to bring America to a post-racial future. She’s supposedly a community activist working for the benefit of poor neighborhoods whose teenagers are disproportionately at risk for sexually transmitted diseases. She has an opportunity to reverse, through education, decades of racial distrust and to simultaneously protect her teen-aged female constituents against “cervical cancer and other diseases in females caused by certain types of genital human papillomavirus (HPV)[, a class of viruses] … which are responsible for 70% of cervical cancers and 90% of genital warts.” So Mrs. Obama strikes a mighty blow to promote ignorance, to prevent vacination, and to permit preventable STDs and cervical cancer.

Read it all…. Did Michelle Obama, channeling Rev. Wright’s racist paranoia, condemn south Chicago girls and young women to unnecessary and preventable STDs and cervical cancer?

The Insanity of Appeasing Muslims

It seems too lunatic to be true. But here a hair salon boss reveals how she was driven to the brink of ruin – and forced to pay £4,000 for ‘hurt feelings’ – after refusing to hire a Muslim stylist who wouldn’t show her hair at work.

For a year, Sarah has been facing financial ruin, due to a compensation claim for £34,000 brought by Bushra, 19, who has maintained she is due that figure after being turned down for a job at the Wedge salon in London’s King’s Cross.

In the event, the tribunal ruled this week that while Bushra’s claim of direct discrimination failed, her claim for indirect discrimination had succeeded.

Sarah has therefore been ordered to pay £4,000 compensation by way of ‘injury to feelings’.

Although this is a smaller sum than she’d feared she might have to hand over, Sarah, 32, is still outraged.

‘I am a small business and the bottom line is that this is not a woman who worked for me,’ says Sarah.

The muslim in question was also rejected by 25 other salons and even though she admits that Sarah said nothing that could be construed as an insult, she opted to sue. My guess is that Sarah looked like the softest target.

This is what comes of the ludicrous notion that offended feelings deserve compensation. Moreover it speaks to the insidious control the state exerts over the private business owner who has less and less freedom to conduct business profitably or in accordance with their beliefs. Such interference with private enterprise becomes even more insidious when coupled with the additional threat posed by  the very dangerous momentum with which sharia compliant banking is being implemented across the world. As it progresses, so does the imposition of sharia law.

Yet, we allow muslims continue to use our laws against us. And it isn’t just in England. Islam has global ambitions, and as one writer cautions, while warning of the acceleration of muslim sponsored censorship, it has become an issue that crosses all national boundaries.

“We can no longer be secure in the knowledge that our own laws or constitution will protect us. THE WHOLE WORLD IS UNDER THREAT and we’ve got to be watching for changes globally rather than nationally if we want to be prepared for what is going to absolutely affect each one of us.” (source)

From refusing to wear uniforms, to protesting male western doctors  treating muslim women, to muslim taxi cab drivers demanding special privileges , not to mention the pathetic dhimmis who acquiesce to muslim extortion, like the execrable Oregon principle who had the audacity to ban the Pledge of Allegiance in an American public elementary school, for fear of offending Muslims.

This list can go on and on -  creeping sharia and cultural jihad continues, abetted by the left, in nation after nation.

What the hell is it going to take for Americans to freaking wake up? And it won’t be Barack Hussein Obama who finally gets a clue, the would-be president who finds the shrill islamic “call to prayer” melodic and permits advocacy of “honor” killings on his official campaign site...

In 1997, Sarah got a job at a salon on London’s Portobello Road, where she remained for almost a decade. In March 2006, feeling ready to spread her wings, she wrote a business plan, secured a loan and invested £5,000 of her savings into the lease on a small salon on Caledonian Road.

And then a muslim walked in.  A muslim applying to an “edgy” salon, garbed in head scarf down to her brows. And she was looking for an excuse to sue, of that I have no doubt. Sarah interviewed her, discovered that she would refuse  to remove her head scarf and that was the end of it in her mind. If style is the product that you sell, and hair is the showcase, it is rather obvious that a dour muslim with nary a wisp of hair showing isn’t a good match. Rather like applying to be a nude model and refusing to take off your clothes. A sensible person simply wouldn’t apply.

One morning in the second week of June 2007, an innocuous white envelope landed on Sarah’s doormat. It contained a letter saying that she was being sued for £15,000 for indirect and direct discrimination by Bushra Noah. This, the letter stated, related to compensation for injury to her feelings and lost earnings. Later, that figure was increased to £34,000.

And so it goes. In every country where muslims are seeking a stronghold,  charges of discrimination and threats of lawsuits are becoming common. It is the same victim’s templates used by all so-called minorities. And  small business owners simply trying to hold their own, to make a living, are confronted with a well oiled grievance machine with absolutely no support from their individual governments. In fact, too many governments are bending their knees to these extortionists.

If you, as an American, have no intention of bowing down before foreign gods, then you damn well better start fighting.

Blacks, Jews, Palestinians and Barack Obama

I am reposting in full a piece written by Kola Boof. The link was given in a comment to my post, Barack Obama Needs to Suggest to the Arabs that They Pony Up With Their Reparations.

I am not familiar with Miss Boof’s work or her political views, but I do think she is sadly mistaken in her support for Obama. However, she speaks eloquently of her love for Israel, and such sentiments are always welcome on this blog.

More to the point, she exhibits courage that is sadly lacking amongst Western journalists. She speaks the truth about Islam and Israel and thus has earned herself a fatwa condemning her to death by beheading. She finds sanctuary now in America.

Which leads me to mention this, though not directly pertaining to the topic of this post, it is critical for Americans to come to grips with the noose tightening around our throats. At The Midnight Sun a very important discussion is going on about the severe threat that freedom of speech is under in Canada and throughout the West. If we in the West do not rise up to save such a fundamental freedom, Miss Boof will no longer find sanctuary in America either. None of us will.
So read the words of one who faces death for saying them. If Americans do not wake up, we will all soon face the same.

Obama’s Support of Israel and Not Palestine

You constantly hear the “African Americans” despair over Obama’s support of
Israel and not Palestine–but that’s because the Black Americans (who are only
400 years old, which is a “baby”) do not have the FACTS.

As a Black Person from North Africa…I also support Israel over Palestine.

The Israelis don’t purchase Black African slaves as the Palestinians do and the
Israelis don’t sterilize black women so as to use them as sex slaves.

Dinka girl children are purchased from Sudan for $14 a piece and you can find them
in Arab territorities like Palestine, Syria and Jordan with their tongues cut out
and working in Arab kitchens.

I have lived in Israel, and other than the troops in the street, it was very much like
living in the United States.

If I had to find a husband–I could get one in Israel, but not in Palestine.

The White Israeli man is less colorstruck than the Brown-skinned Palestinian man.

The Palestinians, who used to be “black”, have a notorious fear of producing black
babies and returning to their former dark coloring. That’s why they prefer to
sterilize black little girls before using them as sex slaves.

The Israelis also don’t have a word like “abeed” that denigrates the black race,
a word that all Arabs (including the Palestinians) use on a daily basis.

Israel is a White, Racist nation…in the same way that the United States is a White,
Racist nation. It’s definitely no worse than here.

But Palestine and the Arab world is much worse.

No black woman who has been free would ever want to live in the Arab nations
unless she was a “mulatto” Black American—because then, she would not be
considered “black” by the Arabs and could enjoy taking part in their colorist
racism.

Of course, Black Americans are notoriously IGNORANT about what the Arab world
USES THEM for in relation to leverage in American Politics and have not actually
attempted to live in these colorstruck racist fanatical Arab Muslim countries that they so romanticize.

The only time I’ve ever heard Palestinians and Arabs talk their “brown brother” b.s.
is over here in the United States where they have a political agenda that requires
the support of Black Americans.

But go to North Africa and see what they’re talking.

And of course Black American MEN have a particular fondness for Muslim countries,
because of the chronic “sexism” that less powerful men have always craved in their
struggle to feel more like men.

In my opinion, being covered up from head to toe and being told that “woman is impure”
is nothing more than enslavement of the soul. Women’s bodies are not dirty and the
woman’s menstrual cycle is the symbol of humanity itself, so it’s an abomination against
God for women to be covered up and marginalized in this way.

And, as far as I’m concerned, both Christianity and Islam are the two worse things that
ever happened to the African continent.

Naturally, my comments on this issue have caused me to be demonized, lied on and
discredited by all manner of Oil Company, Black American Pro-Palestine speaker and
Arab-American millionaire businessmen who pay the media to silence those of us from
North Africa who dare expose “brown brothers” of the Arab Empire for what they really
are–but yet and still, I am the more powerful one.

As an African mother, I will always support powerful white Israel before oppressed
brown Palestine.

As one of my poems says: “the slave is the devil, too.”

A Grown Up Academic!

I’ll never rubbish Academia in general again. At Michigan State and engineering Prof named Andrek Wichman on hearing that the Muslim student association was planning a protest against the Danish cartoons, sent them the following e-mail.

Dear Moslem Association,

As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest. I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey ), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called “whores” in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France.

This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile “protests. If you do not like the values of the West – see the 1st Amendment – you are free to leave.

I hope for God’s sake that most of you choose that option.

Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.

Very Stupid Arabs: Business as Usual

I once had a customer whose company did work in Saudi Arabia. I’m not sure what the particular installation was, something to do with oil, but the man had just returned from there and relayed how ludicrous the entire trip had been.

He had been called back because the Arabs whose job it was to run this operation were freaking out , claiming the equipment was faulty. Guess what? They hadn’t turned it on. That simple and that stupid.
So now we have a planet full of parasitical muslims using Western technology that their culture was too bereft of imagination or genius to create. The phrase, “Pearls before swine”, has never had a more pellucid evocation of it’s meaning than when applied to the gifts and bounty, capital and labor, good will and generosity that the West has carelessy and foolishly laid at the feet of the muslim world. ( We won’t go into the extortions, bribes and payoffs that have added to this horrendous waste of US treasure.)

Anecdotes abound of the unceasing incompetence exhibited by arabs and muslims. The following account that provides the narrative for these images only further reinforces the verity thereof.

The brand spanking new Airbus 340-600, the largest passenger airplane ever built, sat in its hangar in Toulouse, France without a single hour of airtime. Enter the Arab flight crew of Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT) to conduct pre-delivery tests on the ground, such as engine runups, prior to delivery to Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi. The date was November 15, 2007.

The ADAT crew taxied the A340-600 to the run-up area. Then they took all four engines to takeoff power with a virtually empty aircraft. Not having read the run-up manuals, they had no clue just how light an empty A340-600 really is.

The takeoff warning horn was blaring away in the cockpit because they had all 4 engines at full power. The aircraft computers thought they were trying to takeoff but it had not been configured properly (flaps/slats, etc.) Then one of the ADAT crew decided to pull the circuit breaker on the Ground Proximity Sensor to silence the alarm.

The extent of injuries to the crew is unknown, for there has been a news blackout in the major media in France and elsewhere. Coverage of the story was deemed insulting to Moslem Arabs. Finally, the photos are starting to leak out.(emphasis mine)
