Connecting the Energy Dots

After 9.11, everyone was all about connecting the dots. Oh, if we only had connected those damn dots, we would have seen those planes coming. Well, try these dots. We posted on how Pelosi’s obstruction of an energy vote looks pretty damn bad in light of her investment in T. Boone Pickens’ wind power scam.

Well, Sweetness & Light connects another dot in her comment on Soros’s $811 million investment in Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro Oil.

I quote:

So now we understand the Democrats’ no-drill policies.

They can’t undercut their sugar daddy.

From her article quoted from Bloomberg…

Billionaire investor George Soros bought an $811 million stake in Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras) in the second quarter, making the Brazilian state-controlled oil company his investment fund’s largest holding.

As of June 30, the stake in Petrobras, as the Rio de Janeiro-based oil producer is known, made up 22 per cent of the $3.68 billion of stocks and American depositary receipts held by Soros Fund Management, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Petrobras has since slumped 28 per cent…

In November, Petrobras announced the discovery of Tupi, a field with as much as 8 billion barrels of reserves, making it the largest find in the Americas since 1976.

Now, connect the energy dots to the food chain dots. Soros does, as we noted in Soros, Famine, Energy, and the End of Sovereign Nations. Here is another dot to add to the collection…

Farmland is enjoying its biggest revival in 30 years as investors including George Soros and TIAA-Cref bet that crop prices, chiefly grains, will be supported by shortfalls in production as demand mounts. In parts of the Midwestern U.S., land prices have risen as much as threefold, while broker Knight Frank LLP estimates U.K. values rose 38 percent on average in the first half alone.

“Some of the opportunities internationally are outstanding,” Bridgeman said in an interview at his office in London. He favors farms in Australia, Brazil, Canada and Romania, where he expects higher returns than in the U.S, or his native U.K.
[...]
Billionaire investor George Soros owns a stake in Adecoagro SA, the owner of 225,000 hectares (556,000 acres) of farmland in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. TIAA-Cref, the largest manager of retirement funds in the U.S., said it bought $340 million of farmland in seven states in the U.S. at the end of last year.

Bridgeman said investors in the Schroder fund will gain a diversified range of investments spread across Europe, South America and Australia, while the units listed in London will be traded on a daily basis.
Schroders Plans to Raise $480 Million for Global Farmland Fund

The elites have got to really be rolling in belly laughs watching the stupid Americans scrambling about with all of their goofy Green campaigns, their idiot hybrids, their curly light bulbs and now, their tire gauges. As the grown-up countries in the world scramble to get their share of the earth’s resources - and re-arrange a few borders while they are at it - the dimwitted denizens of this once proud nation shed tears over Polar Bears and mother earth.

Soros, Heinz, Pelosi, Bush, Clinton, Obama, McCain, their masters and their multitudinous retinue of lackeys and international troops of minions are re-shaping the world in front of our eyes while, like obsessive compulsive psychopaths, we engage in feverish discussions about who should and who should not be permitted to say nigger during the most critical presidential election in this nation’s history. We ain’t going to be calling each other nothing but losers if we keep acting like the world is the la la land Obama and crew want us to believe.

If a future generation of Americans somehow survive the debacle we now bring upon them, they will curse us from the depth of their souls. As they should, as they damn well should…

Obama’s Magical Wind and Pelosi’s Wind Investments

The Spectator has a thorough piece describing the lifestyles Americans can look forward to if the magical- thinking Barack Obama is elected. Forget freedom, choice, prosperity and comfort. Obama is definitely going to change all of that. Here are some excerpts, but I strongly suggest you read the whole thing.

But, before you leave, be sure to skip down and read about the real incentives Nancy Pelosi has for blocking a vote in Congress. The little socialist wench has her sights set on lining her pockets while she, Obama and their Ameri-phobic band of Reprogressives fleece yours.

The American Spectator’s Flower Power

YES, OBAMA AND his legions of aging hippie flower children are going to liquidate reliance on the evil Terminator technology of oil and nuclear power, and fuel the modern, high technology, American economy with joyous windmills and happy sun power. Oh happy day.

Accomplishing this, Obama recognizes, “will take nothing less than a complete transformation of our economy.” You betcha. But not to worry, because Obama is going to pull this off with his new neo-socialist, central economic planning from Washington, where the wise bureaucrats will see it all through.

Under this all-knowing leadership, “we will get one million 150-mile-per-gallon plug-in hybrids on our roads within six years.” That is because, “We’ll invest more in the research and development of these plug-in hybrids, specifically focusing on the battery technology.”

Also, “by 2022, I will make it a goal to have 6 billion gallons of our fuel come from sustainable, affordable biofuels.”

Under the Obama Five Year Plan, he will be “directing billions in loans and capital to entrepreneurs who are willing to create clean energy businesses and clean energy jobs right here in America.” Those “entrepreneurs” will consequently be bought and paid for Obama supporters.

Under an Obama regime, America will “invest federal resources, including tax incentives and government contracts, into developing next generation biofuels” and “raise our fuel mileage standards four percent every year.”

Except for Hugo Chavez and Barack Obama, the whole world learned in the last century that central economic planning does not work. Yet, that is where we are today in our national energy policy. That is why it is all such a mess.

Under Obama, it will all get much, much worse.

INDEED, WE HAVE just experienced a huge central planning disaster with the ethanol fiasco. Ethanol production consumes at least as much energy as it produces, still costs more than oil counting all of its never ending subsidies, actually harms the environment on net, and causes sharply rising food prices.

Food riots have broken out in poor Third World countries, where people are starving because so much land is being used for ethanol production rather than food production. Yet our central planning geniuses in Congress have “mandated” sharply increased use of ethanol over the coming years. This is precisely the model for Obama’s energy policy.

Read it all…The American Spectator’s Flower Power

Nancy Pelosi, the botox crone and socialist whore running roughshod over the will of the people at every given opportunity, plans, like Al Gore, to make a profit from our misery.

Money. It would appear that the driving force behind Madam Speaker’s quick and forceful adjournment of Congress is money.

According to Michigan Taxes Too Much blog, Madam Speaker has a substantial amount of money invested in Clean Energy Fuels Corporation.

Clean Energy Fuels Corporation is a business venture started by none other than T. Boone Pickens.
[...]
peaker of the House Nancy Pelosi purchased between $50K and $100K of stock on May 25th 2007, the day of the initial public offering.

She, and other investors, stand to gain a substantial return on their investment if gasoline prices stay high and municipal, state and even the Federal governments start using natural gas as their primary fuel source.

If gasoline prices fall? Alternative fuels and the cost to convert fleets over to them becomes less and less attractive.

Brown Shirts for the Green Regime and American Suckers

Well, this certainly is something that would appeal to the Obama camp. Apparently an energy outfit is recruiting your kid to be a little nazi, a brown shirt for the green regime. I am sure their training will help prepare them for membership in Obama’s soon to be introduced Hitler’s youth.

Can I be the only one more than a little disturbed by the latest campaign to be fronted by energy company npower?

Launched today with large colour ads in the Sundays, it appeals directly to children, urging them to enlist as “climate cops”, to root out “climate crimes”, and thus “save the planet”.
In a luridly-designed website, mimicking the style of “yoof” cartoons, it offers a bundle of downloads, including a pack of “climate crime cards”, urging its recruits to spy on families, friends and relatives, inviting each of them to build up a “climate crime case file” in order to help them ensure their putative criminals do not “commit those crimes again (or else)!”

Quite what the “or else!” should be is not specified, but since the “climate cops” are being encouraged to keep detailed written records (for those who can read and write), there is nothing to stop these being submitted to the “Climate Cops HQ” for further sanctions, the repeat offenders being sent to re-education camps. And for those “climate cops” that successfully perform the “missions” set (or turn in their own parents), there is the reward of “training” in the “Climate Cop Academy”.

While Americans continue to be suckered into AL Gore’s monstrous lies, the rest of the world is diligently pursung drilling, coal and nuclear power. Aren’t you tired of being suckered America?

The rest of the world knows that green sources of energy are inadequate to keep their people out of poverty. That is why around the world, from Europe to South America to Asia, countries are building coal and nuclear power plants at a dizzying pace while also drilling for oil wherever they can find it. Meanwhile, the United States, crippled by an out-of-control environmental movement, is refusing to develop needed energy sources.

Soros, Famine, Energy, and the End of Sovereign Nations

If any of you remember the movie Dune, Baron Vladimir Harkonen was a particularly nasty piece of work, addicted to power and depravity and more than willing to devastate a planet to sate his appetite. This image has always brought Soros to mind, though Soros isn’t the only suppurating, maggot ridden, power crazy, elitist and would be dictator playing slice and dice with this planet. There have been, and are, many - but none of us were paying attention.

Soros Dreams....

Soros Dreams....

When you start connecting the dots, the manner of our demise as a free nation and the West’s moribound defense of all of our treasured ideals becomes increasingly evident. A Soros here, a think tank there, an infiltrated academia, a global media machine that eclipses any method of indoctrination ever devised by man and citizens in thrall to satiating their ever growing appetite for the venal and the irrelevant. The links these passages are taken from will lead you to some well documented pieces on some of the means and methods of our undoing.

In his book, The Impact Of Science On Society, written in 1952, Bertrand Russell wrote, “At present the population of the world is increasing at about 58,000 per diem. War, so far, has had no very great effect on this increase, which continued throughout each of the world wars … War … has hitherto been disappointing in this respect … but perhaps bacteriological war may prove more effective. If a Black Death could spread throughout the world once in every generation, survivors could procreate freely without making the world too full … The state of affairs might be somewhat unpleasant, but what of it?”

Certainly that is a line worthy of George Soros and his cadre of elitist social engineers who, in case you haven’t noticed, are doing their damndest to rearrange the very nature of our world.

Russell is expressing a view, long held by many who might be considered “oligarchs”, and who, for many generations, have held themselves to be superior to the vast majority of the population of this planet.

The simple fact is that the world is not “too full.” It might feel like it is, sometimes, as our basic economic infrastructure crumbles round our ears, and as poverty forces the people of large parts of the planet into having large families.

Today’s hikes in oil and food prices are not the result of population fuelled demand, unavailability, or as a lack of capability to produce. They are purely artificial, as the result of Policy.
(source)

Perhaps akin to the policy that the Democrats and RINOs are perpetuating with their refusal to drill or build nuclear power plants??

A Democratic senator on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee inadvertently explained why her colleagues have no intention of ending the moratorium on offshore oil drilling or increasing the areas open for exploration and production – no matter how popular the idea might be with gas prices soaring.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV’s “Money and Politics” last night, Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., explained Democrats don’t want to increase supplies of oil and gasoline because they want to wean Americans off of petroleum products.(Source)

George Soros and his boy Barack Obama are on the same page…

On the 18th June, Goergie told a Budapest newspaper: “Rather than expecting energy prices to go down somehow, we should accept that it must go further up first, for us to be able to solve the [long-term] problem. Prices must go up first so as to encourage people to consume less.”

So Georgie wants us to consume less

And so does Obama….

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.
(source)

Along with soaring oil prices, add into the mix soaring food prices, partly due to pushing biofuels, and you have the makings of another perfect storm. A storm which George Soros intends to profit from.

Georgie’s mechanism for pushing prices up is typified by his recent acquisition of all the commodities trading and merchandising business of the giant multi-national ConAgra Foods. This acquisition was made by a private investment fund managed by Soros Fund Management LLC, acting as part of a consortium with New York hedge fund Ospraie Management and New York asset manager General Atlantic. The $2.8 billion deal is estimated as the largest acquisition ever by a hedge fund.

The agreement includes 144 ConAgra facilities, located primarily in North America. Renamed Gavilon, the new company provides physical distribution and merchandising of grains, feed ingredients, fertilizer, and energy products; as well as agriculture, energy, and other commodity trading activities, and “risk management services” — i.e., commodity futures derivatives speculation.

It doesn’t stop there. It goes without saying that Georgie is right in there pushing biofuels. Another string to the bow, the biofuels insanity is a strategy that even the greenies don’t want. The ConAgra operations provide “procurement and marketing services” for ethanol and bio-diesel producers, supply chain infrastructure, as well as financial hedging.

If you are wondering how America has willingly moved this close to the precipice, well, it’s been in the works quite a long time. While all of us were enjoying the bounty of the American dream, the elites have been orchestrating a world order where such bounty will come under their control - along with the rest of us. Obama is but one small chess piece in a game far bigger than any of us has dared to imagine. It really doesn’t matter who wins the election, this game will play on. I mean, who’s gonna stop it?

From Population Control and a World Food Authority

The threat of environmental catastrophe to further the population control agenda is nothing new and continues to this day with the manmade global warming scare. Back in the 1970’s the Club of Rome was not shy at using the environmental catastrophe card to push for population control
[...]
The incredible power that would be accomplished from a massive concentration of food stocks under the control of a single agency did not escape the authors of this report to the Club of Rome. The reigning food situation in the world was dominated by the great dependence of many countries on the North American breadbasket. This gave the Americans a considerable amount of power over their dependent countries.

“the American Secretary for Agriculture who has observed: “Food is a weapon. It is one of the principal tools in our negotiating kit” ” - 29

The further centralization of food stocks under a single international power would only increase the abuse of food supplies not decrease it. This, quite naturally, is the point. The result of this control is well described by Bertrand Russell (who strongly supported this idea) in his 1952 book The Impact of Science of Society [2]:

“To deal with this problem [increasing population and decreasing food supplies] it will be necessary to find ways of preventing an increase in world population. If this is to be done otherwise than by wars, pestilence, and famines, it will demand a powerful international authority. This authority should deal out the world’s food to the various nations in proportion to their population at the time of the establishment of the authority. If any nation subsequently increased its population it should not on that account receive any more food. The motive for not increasing population would therefore be very compelling. What method of preventing an increase might be preferred should be left to each state to decide.” - 124

Green Weenies Don’t Want to Scrub Away Carbon, Just America

Gore the Climate Whore

Gore the Climate Whore

Sane Americans have long recognized that Al Gore and his league of climate whores have little concern about the environment, but a great deal of interest in castrating America’s economy and each citizen’s freedom and mobility. Further proof is offered in the green weenie’s rejection of Columbia University’s recent development of a carbon scrubbing technology that will make those big bad carbon footprints rather irrelevant.

Great the crisis is solved we won’t be eating each other as Ted Turner suggested earlier this summer right? Not so fast. First it is my opinion that the belief of man made global warming is a hoax designed to take freedoms away from people and their money as well.

And proof of this is a quote by a member of Green Peace: “There’s no magic bullet to save us from the problem of global warming,” said Kert Davies, a so called energy expert for Greenpeace USA in Washington, D.C. “Removing greenhouse gases so readily will not encourage people to develop alternate, renewable technologies, he said, and strive for energy efficiency.”
The Carbon Scrubber?

No indeed. Green Peace and their tribe of climate lackey’s idea of a magic bullet is one lodged right into the heart of capitalism, free markets and a free America.

Barack Hussein Obama: The “New Socialist Man”

independence day - the movie

Actually, I am not certain that socialism is any more the proper term for what the good folk have in mind for us, at least not socialism in the classic text book sense.
[...]
We will get what we need, and they will tell us what it is that we need. And also what we should want to watch on NPR, i.e. The Vagina Monologues and The Color Purple and not NASCAR or football - unless its the good European football. So really, these people are not so much socialists as they are social engineers. In my field guide, socialists are the opponent, but social engineers are the enemy… Now American social engineers want to have another go at building the new socialist man.

Have you ever watched a man in a strait jacket? You immediately start feeling claustrophobic, a sense of confinement, a tightening of the chest. Or, recall the familiar vexation felt when watching a horror flick’s usual fool walking straight into the maw of a monster.

That is what I feel like as I witness America stumble.

At first, after 9.11, before I realized that liberals had become socialists, I was astounded that they didn’t “get it” on islam. As time went on, I became increasingly amazed that they were silent when artists, bloggers, writers across Europe and in Canada were silenced, or murdered, by muslims. And hate speech? To have reached a point where the NYT dares to suggest that there really ought to be restriction to free speech?!? The chill really started seeping into my marrow when I finally realized that the left certainly does “get it”, worse, they want it.

Which brings up another image from cinema.

You’ll remember the movie Independence Day? In one of the scenes a stripper, a friend of Will Smith’s girlfriend, is giddy with excitement at the prospect of aliens visiting earth. She apparently sees nothing ominous as huge crafts take positions hovering over cities across the globe. She just assumes they came with good will. When she gets off work she puts a crayoned sign together proclaiming an exuberant welcome and goes to the top of a skyscraper with hundreds of others to wave her sign in greeting. It isn’t until the last second that she realizes that the portal opening in the bottom of the spacecraft is delivering a devastating terminal force.

That’s what the ululations and mass hysteria surrounding Obama reminds me of. Americans now enthused over Obama are very much like that dim witted chick. Unknowingly, they  welcome the impending death of their country.

Socialism, the curtailment of basic freedoms, is like an alien entity hovering over our nation and Obama is most emphatically the model for “the new socialist man.”

The excerpts that follow are from a site I just discovered - Veteran-American Voices. Every post I have read there confirms that some dark times are coming if Americans do not finally get a clue. And like the cinematic fools walking to their death, America walks - no - marches, with spirited cadence to hers.

If you scoff at the idea of socialism in the US, I suggest you spend some time on the linked site. If you can’t recognize the threat represented in Obama and the so-called progressives, well, why don’t you just go and get some crayons and do up a sign for Obama. And don’t say you weren’t warned.
Barack Obama the New Socialist Man

A free people do not readily give up their freedom and submit to government control. This must be achieved by stages and by manipulation, though strictly for the masses’ own good of course. One of Lenin’s mistakes was to rely too much on bayonets and raw decrees, and to neglect a strategic plan. Lenin and Stalin spoke of capturing the “commanding heights” of industrial production. Our new social engineers seek to capture the commanding heights of social organization. Many of the political controversies of recent years are of strictly secondary importance. Winning on such an issue as Social Security abortion, or minimum wage may consolidate a particular point of conflict, but will offer no leverage or great strategic advantage for future clashes. Three important areas are the war for mass transportation, for domination of education, and for public healthcare.

[...]
We are told that the current fuel crisis is all about oil shortages. But that idea is debunked by the vast unutilized oil finds in the USA and elsewhere. We are told that we cannot touch that oil for fear of spoiling the natural beauty of the desert tundra in a small corner of ANWR or disturbing the breeding ground of the Alaskan mosquito. Nonsense. That oil has been left untouched because those making the decisions want a fuel scarcity and elevated prices in order to discourage private driving. Back in the 1990s, and even into the 1970s, those people spoke of a desire to see the price of oil raised and to see private driving curtailed. In addition to trying to raise the price of gasoline and make it less available through complicated programs mandating a wide variety of additives, they have also taken numerous other measures designed to handicap car drivers. Fuel tax revenues supposedly dedicated by law to road and bridge maintenance are regularly diverted to subsidize construction of urban rail projects and similar mass transit programs. Likewise the same for reluctance to build or widen existing roads. Special privileges and lanes are allocated for busses and other high occupancy vehicles. In some states, yearly emission checks for private cars are used for harassment. Speed traps and traffic light cameras serve not only to raise city revenues, but also to harass drivers. Ditto for random checkpoints for sobriety and seatbelt use. In some cities, they like to use extra wide, and extra long articulated busses which can cause safety problems for cars trying to use the same roads. While some of these measures can be defended on other grounds, together, they collude to present a clear message to drivers – take the bus or we’ll make your day impossible. Nor can this drive be justified by reference to pollution – ever noticed how much smelly pollution comes from your average city bus?
[...]
But of course, from a different perspective, these disadvantages are actually great advantages. The planners can determine where you can go, and where you cannot. And when. Transportation is not for getting you where you want to be, but where you’re supposed to be. If you work for a significant corporation, factory or government office, there will be transportation available at the appointed times. If it’s a small office, you should be carpooling with three or more other workers. And its really not social for you to work alone.

Another benefit is that traveling in a group is good for your attitude. If you are all alone every day on a long commute, you may start to think by yourself and get ideas. That’s bad. Or you may listen to a radio station, and that could be even worse. But if you are with three or four casual acquaintances who are assigned to your carpool, you will each serve as an inhibition on the others, no telling of politically incorrect jokes or listening to heretical ideas on the AM band. What if you heard Imus say something terribly inappropriate, and one of your riders were to laugh inappropriately? Like Japanese schoolgirls on vacation or Soviet sailors on shore leave, it is much better for citizens to travel in groups, lest someone might say or do something unthinkable. This is a part of our new reality in which everyone should be organized and every activity part of an official league. Just as stickball must be eliminated in favor of Little League. Apart from the group is danger, only within the group shall be certainty and safety.
[...]
Once travel, even for short distances becomes an expense and a major burden, people will need to move in and live closer to their place of work and where they shop. Gradually it will save the pristine countryside from the further spread of suburbanization. And it may even gradually roll back the suburbs. And that’s good. People can be kept under better control. If they can’t travel out to the countryside, groups like the Michigan Militia won’t be able to shoot or practice their militias, won’t be able to conspire their horrid resistance. People can live in closely packed little condos, and tightly-knit, carefully planned communities. No more wasteful and polluting barbecues. Integration and affirmative action will be able to proceed to their desired completion. True, it will mean visits to Disney World will be rare, but then Disney is tacky anyway. Citizens should use their free time for mandatory volunteer work for the community, giving something back as they say, and for consciousness raising sessions to remind them how good they have it, now that they no longer have to deal with road traffic and driving lessons, and such. See how much better life will be, how much warmer community will be once the social engineers have restored us to the immobility that nature intended.

Barack Obama Bad for Canada Too

Obama’s Vow Could Threaten Industry

– Barack Obama on Tuesday vowed he would break America’s addiction to “dirty, dwindling and dangerously expensive” oil if he is elected U.S. president — and one of his first targets might well be Canada’s oilsands.

A senior adviser to Obama’s campaign told reporters it’s an “open question” whether oil produced from northern Alberta’s oilsands fits with the Democratic candidate’s plan to shift the U.S. sharply away from consumption of carbon-intensive fossil fuels.

“If it turns out that those technologies don’t advance … and the only way to produce those resources would be at a significant penalty to climate change, then we don’t believe that those resources are going to be part of the long-term, are going to play a growing role in the long-term future,” said Jason Grumet, Obama’s senior energy adviser.
The remarks amount to a shot across the bow of Alberta’s oilsands industry, which is planning to boost production from 1.3 million barrels a day to 3.5 million barrels over the next decade.

The industry has come under sustained attack from U.S. environmentalists over the past year because the production of its heavy oil emits an estimated three times more greenhouse gases than conventional oil.

Barack Obama: High Priest of Doom

All across the globe cowering elites in every nation huddle behind their many byzantine obfuscations, like over educated crack heads they fervently cook equations and theories on which to hang their nightmare climate visions, calculating, with dour glee, the deconstruction of the civilized world.

Barack Obama intones sonorous chords of doom, a black magician summoning the tribal spirits of Mother Earth, demanding that Americans not look towards the stars but, instead, bow their heads in servitude, paint their faces in ash and pay penance for having created the most vital, free and prosperous nation on earth.

For a political ideolgy rooted in humanism and secularism, far too many on the left have a terrifying tendency to devolve into evangelical snake handlers, speaking in tongues, babbling insanities.
From The Religion of Environmentalism

There is a certain type of person in the Western world. Well meaning people who think that they hold the fate of the world in their hands and who think that they can save the world…and who think that you have to help.

These are the people who live by the three R’s. They want to drive a Prius but can’t quite afford one yet. They casually talk about Global Warming like it’s a fact but who have never even bothered to investigate the science behind “Climate Change”. These people are members of the new religion - the religion of environmentalism. And guess what? They are just as passionate and just as illogical as adherents of any other religion. And guess who is a member of the New Church? Obama…

The blogger above goes on to introduce Orson Scott Card’s treatise on “Obama’s New Religion”. I excerpt some below, but highly recommend that you read it all.

Barack Obama’s comments…reveal him to be in the religious-faith category. The Environmental Puritans believe that any opposition to their dogmas is heresy, and that anything that doesn’t match their vision of how humans should live is a sin.

Since their vision of how humans should live is “without making any difference in how the world would be without humans,” we are all, alas, sinners. However, some are more sinful than others, and the United States is the most sinful of all.
the horror of obama
No, not China, because the Environmental Puritans, like the rest of the world, expect America to live by a higher standard than other nations. Fair enough — we claim to be a special nation, and so we should meet a higher standard.

Still, the Environmental Puritans agree with the ayatollahs on this one point: America is the Great Satan. And Obama echoes that view when he refers to our gasoline consumption, our eating, and our air-conditioning and heating as if they were sins for which we are accountable to the rest of the world.
[...]
When Obama says we eat too much — we, whose surpluses feed so many nations that when we cut back a little on food production in order to make ethanol it causes near famine elsewhere — what is he suggesting?

Is he saying that, as president, he would put us all on a diet?

Is he going to wave his hand and make people whose genes predispose them to gain weight suddenly have the metabolism of naturally skinny people? Can’t wait for that change!

Or is he simply going to ration food, so we don’t eat so much? What, exactly, is his solution to the problem of environmentally sinful America?
[...]
The correct solution to the oil problem, according to the Puritans, is to have fewer humans. Now, I haven’t noticed them volunteering to lessen the population starting with themselves; nor have I seen their heroes bicycling everywhere (environmental ayatollah Al Gore’s plane being a legendary instance). But they do systematically resist every solution that doesn’t involve wrecking the American economy and destroying the American way of life.

[...]
It’s so Calvinist, so Jonathan Edwards. To the environmentalists, the only reason we aren’t a spider suspended by God’s will over the fires of hell is that spiders are natural and don’t deserve to be punished.
[...]
devastation
...you finally begin to suspect that the goal of the purest of the puritans is gotterdammerung, apocalypse, the environmental armageddon: The collapse of the world economic order, the abandonment of advanced technology, and the death of nine-tenths of the human race.

Only when we are reduced to half a billion people, or less, will we finally have a chance of being saved — in the view of the Puritan Environmentalists.

That is the religion whose doctrine Obama is quoting when he says, “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK.”

Are You Sick of Being Gored by Al Yet?

Vaudevillian PT Barnum made famous the phrase, “A sucker is born every minute.” My guess is he wasn’t imagining that America would one day mass produce them. Al Gore did. His fraudulent carbon credit scams, however, are a bit more serious than vaudeville huckstering.

gore whore lg

If Americans allow this global warming farce to be foisted upon them, history will one day mock and scorn a people who so blithely marched a wealthy and thriving nation into the abyss. Indeed, I have no doubt that future historians will render Al Gore in the ignominy he so richly deserves and hail PT Barnum a wiser man by far.

A year and a half ago, James Spann questioned the money and the so-called scientific consensus pushing the idea that mankind is causing global warming. Today, he says it’s losing steam. Two imminent surveys of meteorologists may further complicate the climate debate. […] “[Y]ou know, there was some great power in that movement back in January of 2007,” Spann said. “It’s pretty rapidly running out of gas and it just seems like every day more and more people are coming out with the fact that that’s pretty much a hoax. And these are Ph.D climatologists that are pretty much saying what I said all along.”

In January 2007, Spann received national attention when he wrote a post on his blog challenging a post by The Weather Channel climate expert Dr. Heidi Cullen. Cullen had argued that meteorologists should have the American Meteorological Society (AMS) credentials taken away if they doubt the validity of manmade climate change. “If a meteorologist can’t speak to the fundamental science of climate change, then maybe the AMS shouldn’t give them a Seal of Approval,” Cullen wrote for Weather.com on Dec. 21, 2006. Spann fired back on Jan. 18, 2007: “Well, well,” Spann wrote. “Some ‘climate expert’ on ‘The Weather Channel’ wants to take away AMS certification from those of us who believe the recent “global warming” is a natural process. So much for ‘tolerance’, huh?” Spann claimed at the time he didn’t know any broadcast meteorologists who were sold on the theory touted by global warming alarmists.

[…]

Of course, the root of this whole thing is money,” Spann said. “And, there is a vast amount of wealth being generated by this whole issue. And I always recommend to folks – if anyone speaks on the subject, get a disclosure and find out their financial interests in it.”

[…]

“I’m not a politician, don’t understand it – I honestly don’t know,” Spann said. “But, I will tell you that there’s a lot of people who have gotten very, very wealthy – filthy rich off this subject. I think former Vice President [Al Gore] collects a minimum of $200,000 per speech on this and all of this money – it can corrupt anybody, and I just think it’s all about money.”

Hey Progressives! Did Obama Take Your Balls??

OBEYOBAMA

Does even a semblance of the American spirit remain to you? You know, the rebel? The independent, get-out-of-my-face, how dare you get in my business American?

My God, you strut around with your piercings and tattoos, believing you are such freaking independent, ball busting iconoclasts. You get incredibly pissy when you think Christians are telling you what to do. You make this pretense of being anarchists but you allow this two bit politician to dictate to you how you are going to live your life??

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.(Source)

Damn, talk about castration. Talk about the feminization of the culture. Good lord, you ReProgressives aren’t just pussified, Obama is pulling your scrotum out by the roots.

And you are buying it? Yeah, you folks are real rebels. I’m so freaking impressed.

Tell you what Obama, Sweetie, Honey Bunch, Darlin’ - I know you are still mired in your oppression mentality. I really think that when affirmative action was implemented, they ought to have included a course on basic freedoms. It is quite evident that you haven’t an iota of appreciation for, or conception of, the rights that Americans have always enjoyed in pursuing the lifestyle that they desire. You know, that “pursuit of happiness” thing? Have you even read the document that promises Americans exactly that?

The rest of the world can figure it out for themselves Obama. It is not my obligation to diminish my lifestyle for the sake of the anonymous huddled masses and it sure as hell ain’t the role of the American president to mandate it. Sweetie.

But after you lose this election Obama - and if there is any bloody sanity left in this country, you will lose big - I’m sure Jimmy “Hamas” Carter has a hammer for you at Habitat for Humanity. That way you can exercise your love of oppression while building houses for those poor little Palestinian supporters of yours in the Middle East. In fact, maybe you should campaign over there. Those folks are very used to having their lives controlled by their governments. I know it has escaped you Obama, but Americans are not.

Global Warming Gore Whores are Goring America (Elites Excluded)

Published by zee under Global Warming BS, Liberals Suck

gore whore lg

There is pending in the United States Senate a monstrosity that gives some serious meaning to the facetious wisecrack that Americans are safer when Congress is out of session. As usual, Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member and former Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee (EPW), is doing much of the heavy lifting in the name of down-to-earth sanity in citing the monstrosity’s many flaws.
S-2191, the Lieberman-Warner “cap and trade” bill (scheduled for Senate debate shortly after Memorial Day) would require companies to cut greenhouse gas emissions to 2005 levels by the year 2012. By 2020, those emissions are mandated to return to 1990 levels. And industrial America is expected to reduce emissions to 65% below 1990 levels by the year 2050. This is all in the name of the hoax known as “man-made global warming.” That’s the “cap.”
Gore’s mansion sets the example
The theory behind “cap and trade” is that companies cutting their emissions below their legal limit can sell their excess emissions rights to other parties. That’s the “trade.” Every time Al Gore’s environmental hypocrisy is nailed, he replies he purchases emissions “credits” from other parties in order to operate his huge energy-hog mansion in Nashville. That’s the model for this bill
The small print: the cap and trade “problem”
For starters, just by its very nature, Warner-Lieberman supplies more weight to the already horrific pressures to make your personal wallet or purse considerably lighter. The congressional Budget Office (CBO) says the bill would create $1.2 trillion in government spending over the next 10 years alone.
But while government spending goes up, household income will go down, possibly by nearly $3,000 in 2020 and more than double that amount by 2030. Senator Inhofe figures families in his state of Oklahoma will be stuck with paying $3,298 for the increased cost of gasoline and energy.
Poor families would get the worst of it. Liberal politicians — who claim their hearts bleed for the poor — apparently figure they, themselves, won’t be adversely affected by the higher energy bills that will hit low income families, who already pay 5 times as much of their monthly budgets on energy (19%) as do wealthier families (4%).
And don’t forget the pain at the pump. A study by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) projects that gasoline prices will soar by 53 cents a gallon by the time the full effects of Lieberman-Warner kick in.

Jobs? Forget it. You will be lucky just to keep the one you have because if you lose it, you’ll have a harder time getting another one. Senator Inhofe cites an Independent Energy Information Administration (IEIA) study as forecasting a 9.5% drop in manufacturing and higher energy costs under L/W, and that it will be worse unless we build 350 nuclear plants by 2030. (Note: This column has advocated building nuclear plants as a substitute for begging on our hind legs from the oil-rich countries that hate us.)
Under Lieberman/Warner, America stands to lose jobs in the millions.

[...]

Senator Boxer is sure to put on a great show of fighting mightily for the measure in Senate debate, she is really not interested in passing Lieberman-Warner (S-2191) in 2008. She has been quoted as saying the media and UN climate alarmists are doing such a great job of burying the public with the myth of man-made “global warming” that she would actually rather let the issue simmer out there for a couple of election cycles — hopefully to knock off members of Congress who are willing to break up the charade by pointing out that the Goebbels-like “climate change” propagandists are the proverbial emperors with no clothes. Recall that Joseph Goebbels was the Nazi propagandist whose motto was that a lie repeated often enough becomes “truth.” Such is the methodology of the “global warming” potentates.(ed:all bold mine)

RIA Novosti - World - Estonian farmers face flatulence tax on cattle
TALLINN, May 8 (RIA Novosti) - Estonian farmers have received tax notices for methane emissions from their cattle, the country’s opposition party, the People’s Union of Estonia, said on Thursday.Ruminants produce large quantities of methane gas through belching and flatulence when they digest grass, which accounts for about 15-25% of overall gas emissions, according to different estimates.A single cow produces on average 350 liters of methane and 1,500 liters of carbon dioxide per day.

“For Copa-Cogeca, an organization that unites farmers of the European Union, the information received from Estonian farmers came as a huge surprise, and they could not recall a similar precedent in any EU country,” said the party’s spokesman, Jaanus Marrandi.

No other EU country imposes a flatulence tax on farmers.

A year after joining the Kyoto protocol, authorities in New Zealand proposed introducing a flatulence tax saying that New Zealand cattle are responsible for 90% of the country’s methane emissions and 43% of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Horror of Gore: Are You Feeling Used?

al gore is a whore
…from the archives of the Club of Rome:“It would seem that men and women need a common motivation, namely a common adversary, to organize and act together in the vacuum such as motivation seemed to have ceased to exist or have yet to be found. The need for enemies seems to be acommon historical factor…Bring the divided nation together to face an outside enemy, either a real one or else one INVENTED for the purpose…Democracy will be made to seem responsible for the lagging economy, the scarcity and uncertainties. The very concept of democracy could then be brought into question and allow for the seizure of power by extremists of one brand or the other…

In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. The real enemy [of the elites and their minions] then is humanity itself.”

Gore Goring the Planet

Published by zee under Global Warming BS, Liberals Suck

I wonder how long we will reap the poisoned harvest from Al Gore’s farcical global warming hysteria. Pretentious, self-aggrandizing green weenies prance about celebrating “Earth Day”, allaying their guilt, salving their continuously suppurating psychic wounds, meanwhile, the collateral damage from their war on capitalism takes it’s toll on all of those “little folks” that they purport to care so much about.

Oh well, if they continue ripening the potential for famine and food riots, they’ll be able to hold another one of their ever popular We-Are-the-World star studded concerts, record a new album of harmonized platitudes and all will be well. fuck you

Oh, I forgot to acknowledge Earth week, so here is my greeting to all the Green folks out there …

Concern is mounting because the new generation of biodegradable plastics ends up on landfill sites, where they degrade without oxygen, releasing methane, a greenhouse gas 23 times more powerful than carbon dioxide. This week the US national oceanic and atmospheric administration reported a sharp increase in global methane emissions last year.

“It is just not possible to capture all the methane from landfill sites,” said Michael Warhurt, resources campaigner at Friends of the Earth. “A significant percentage leaks to the atmosphere.”

[...]

this from Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters:

As the international disaster of ethanol begins taking its toll on the planet — and, maybe more important, as press outlet after press outlet finally begins recognizing it — will media remember that Vice President Al Gore cast the tie-breaking vote in the Senate requiring this oxygenate be added to gasoline?

After all, regardless of recent reports blaming ethanol for world hunger problems, rising food costs, and increased greenhouse gases, it seems highly unlikely green media will want to tie any of these problems to Nobel Laureate Gore.

From American Thinker

Are you tired yet of NBC’s extension of “Earth Day” into “Earth Week”? Washington Examiner columnist Timothy Carney exposes the very convenient truth behind parent company General Electric’s environmentalist cheerleading:

NBC Universal is owned by General Electric, which plays a regular role in this column because of how aggressively the company has hitched its profits to its lobbying successes. GE spends more than any other corporation in America on lobbying the federal government — more than $20 million annually over the past three years — and Green Week and Earth Week probably should be disclosed as lobbying efforts.

In many of GE’s businesses, the profit model appears to be: (1) invest in something for which there isn’t much demand; (2) then lobby to mandate or subsidize it …

GE’s coal gasification, solar power generation, electric cars and biodiesel businesses are the same: Consumers and investors acting with their own money would not patronize these technologies, but Congress, acting with your money, will. GE’s $20 million annual lobbying budget sees to it.

GE has also launched a venture dealing in “greenhouse gas credits,” which are literally worthless until Congress starts limiting greenhouse gas emissions. Throw in the expensive but unattractive light bulbs they’ve convinced Congress to mandate, and the pattern is clear.

The Toxicity of Progressive "Change"

If everything that Midas touched turned to gold, everything “Progressives” touch turns cancerous. A blood cancer, redistributing death to a, heretofore, healthy body. The West mutates before our eyes…..

How much more pain must Americans endure before our masters in Washington let oil companies punch a few holes in the Alaskan tundra? Must we shiver pennilessly in the dark before we may extract new domestic petroleum deposits? Or shall we simply keep buying $114 barrels of oil from people who want us dead?

In case Congress missed the news, four U.S. airlines have gone broke during this month alone. Frontier declared bankruptcy, but will continue flying. Even worse, Aloha, ATA, and Skybus blamed unaffordable fuel as they grounded their jets. Aloha said sayonara to 1,900 employees, NBC News reports. ATA’s demise destroyed 2,200 jobs, while Skybus sacked 450 workers, atop the 80,000 positions lost across the economy as unemployment spiked from 4.8 percent in February to 5.1 in March.

The facts about capital gains rates and revenues are well known to our readers, but we’ll repeat them as a public service to the Obama campaign. As the nearby chart shows, when the tax rate has risen over the past half century, capital gains realizations have fallen and along with them tax revenue. The most recent such episode was in the early 1990s, when Mr. Obama was old enough to be paying attention. That’s one reason Jack Kennedy proposed cutting the capital gains rate. And it’s one reason Bill Clinton went along with a rate cut to 20% from 28% in 1997.

CHANGEOBAMA

Either the young Illinois Senator is ignorant of this revenue data, or he doesn’t really care because he’s a true income redistributionist who prefers high tax rates as a matter of ideological dogma regardless of the revenue consequences. Neither one is a recommendation for President.

Congress has succeeded in making the student loan business less profitable. It did not think about the consequences of this, of course, but it should now see–if there is any wit on Capitol Hill–that when you make a business less profitable via government fiat, you decrease the incentives for that business to continue in its previous robust fashion–if at all.

progressive whores

Et voilà, that is precisely what we are seeing. Student loan lenders can’t make as much of a profit thanks to the caps on the interest rates they charge. As a result–especially given the current credit crunch–they are scaling back their activities or cutting out of the student loan business altogether. And this only serves to harm students. Nice work, Congress. What do you do for an encore? Have Speaker Pelosi start brush fires in California? continue reading… Please Stop Helping

Send The Bill to Al Gore

Published by zee under Global Warming BS, Lunatic left., idiots

Laughing my ass off…

SAN DIEGO—It seems solar energy takes more green.
laughing my ass off
The San Diego Unified School District has suspended its solar energy efforts because power bills soared after the green initiative.

The district says it’s paying up to $20,000 a year more on electricity after installing solar energy systems at 28 schools. Plans for solar installations at 22 other schools have now been put on hold.

School district energy management coordinator J. William Naish says spiking energy bills are the result of how San Diego Gas and Electric calculates charges to large power users.

Naish says it’s almost like the district is being penalized for going solar.

The formula used to calculate electricity rates in California is expected to change next month. Naish says he wants to see a few bills under the new rate system before reviving solar energy use.

A Green Weenie Wet Dream

Published by zee under Global Warming BS, Lunatic left.

If it isn’t the Islamists, it’s the damnable Green Weenies with their wealth redistribution global warming hysteria. Ligneus ’s post on the same reminded me of a recent piece that exemplifies the spirit of the socialist left.

This arrogant ass, David Lindorff, finds solace in what he imagines to be the forthcoming devastation of the conservative populations who would supposedly bear the brunt of global warming.

…what we see is that huge swaths of conservative America are set to face a biblical deluge in a few more presidential cycles.

Then there’s the matter of the Midwest, which climate experts say is likely to face a permanent condition of unprecedented drought, making the place largely unlivable, and certainly unfarmable. The agribusinesses and conservative farmers that have been growing corn and wheat may be able to stretch out this doomsday scenario by deep well drilling, but west of the Mississippi, the vast Ogallala Aquifer that has allowed for such irrigation is already being tapped out. It will not be replaced.

So again, we will see the decline and depopulation of the nation’s vast midsection—noted for its consistent conservatism.

[...]

Already the Salton Sea is fading away and putting Palm Springs on notice that the good times are coming to an end. Another right-wing haven soon to be gone.

So the future political map of America is likely to look as different as the much shrunken geographical map, with much of the so-called “red” state region either gone or depopulated.

There is a poetic justice to this of course. It is conservatives who are giving us the candidates who steadfastly refuse to have the nation take steps that could slow the pace of climate change, so it is appropriate that they should bear the brunt of its impact.

The important thing is that we, on the higher ground both actually and figuratively, need to remember that, when they begin their historic migration from their doomed regions, we not give them the keys to the city. They certainly should be offered assistance in their time of need, but we need to keep a firm grip on our political systems, making sure that these guilty throngs who allowed the world to go to hell are gerrymandered into political impotence in their new homes.

There will be much work to be done to help the earth and its residents—human and non-human—survive this man-made catastrophe, and we can’t have these future refugee troglodytes, should their personal disasters still fail to make them recognize reality, mucking things up again.

It should be considered acceptable, in this stifling new world, to say,

“A firm grip on our political systems…”? I see, the “refugee troglodytes”, are expected to emerge like so many repentant serfs onto their “higher ground”, but can expect no say in the America that they are still, presumably, citizens of. And what about the conservatives who happen to live in the regions that the socialists apparently will have decided it is their right to appropriate as their own? Will they have to wear the mark of the beast to signify that they are lesser citizens? What about Jews and Christians, will they be “gerrymandered” too?

The author is right on one count. Should the left prevail, it will indeed be a stifling new world. With their complicity, it will be a world under an Islamic thumb. And in that world, quite frankly, fools like Lindorff who might seek refuge from sharia and the murder of women and gays will be met with a bullet if they seek safety in my foxhole. Why bother with gerrymandering? After all, I told them that they are failing to “recognize reality”. Sadly, thanks to fools like Dave Lindorff, there is far, far more probability of Islam devastating America than climate change.

No Thank You, I’ll Stick to Hummers

Published by zee under Global Warming BS

Personally, I see no appeal in returning to the primitive lifestyles that the global warming zealots seem to be so enamored of. The green-weenies, as I refer to them, never seem to touch on even the most practical implications and repercussions from their insane proposals. How, indeed, does commerce thrive if it is slowed down to a crawl? Or a trot, by France’s measures.

French towns worried about fuel prices, pollution and striking transport workers need look no further than the horse.

Horses are a possible alternative for vehicles such as school buses and refuse trucks, say groups eager to pick up on global concerns about eco-friendly transport.

“It’s all about sustainable development and bringing some humanity back to today’s monotonous, machine-driven jobs,” Stephane de Veyrac, from the French National Stud Organisation, said at this week’s annual conference of French mayors.
fleethorse.com
De Veyrac’s group says it is the first in France to offer consulting on a wide range of horse-powered vehicles that could also haul bottles and aid street sweeping.
(source)

All I can say is that the new gods of secularism are far more draconian than their arch enemy, the Christian god. Having dominion over the earth and being good stewards doesn’t translate into a recommendation for living in the squalor that would result should these earth zealots have their atavistic way. Why the hell can’t we read headlines about the latest advances in colonizing the moon? Instead the hypnotized acolytes of Gore-ism, who have the audacity to classify themselves as some sort of “progressives”, herald the return of the horse. At least such nonsense has yet to be announced in America, but no doubt it will be.

To see a visualization of this grand equine conception ( what would PETA say?), see Fleethorse.com’s video here. I’m sure the folks at Fleethorse intend to be helpful, but in this case, good intentions do lead directly to hell.
