Connecting the Energy Dots
After 9.11, everyone was all about connecting the dots. Oh, if we only had connected those damn dots, we would have seen those planes coming. Well, try these dots. We posted on how Pelosi’s obstruction of an energy vote looks pretty damn bad in light of her investment in T. Boone Pickens’ wind power scam.
Well, Sweetness & Light connects another dot in her comment on Soros’s $811 million investment in Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro Oil.
I quote:
So now we understand the Democrats’ no-drill policies.
They can’t undercut their sugar daddy.
From her article quoted from Bloomberg…
Billionaire investor George Soros bought an $811 million stake in Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras) in the second quarter, making the Brazilian state-controlled oil company his investment fund’s largest holding.
As of June 30, the stake in Petrobras, as the Rio de Janeiro-based oil producer is known, made up 22 per cent of the $3.68 billion of stocks and American depositary receipts held by Soros Fund Management, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Petrobras has since slumped 28 per cent…
In November, Petrobras announced the discovery of Tupi, a field with as much as 8 billion barrels of reserves, making it the largest find in the Americas since 1976.

Now, connect the energy dots to the food chain dots. Soros does, as we noted in Soros, Famine, Energy, and the End of Sovereign Nations. Here is another dot to add to the collection…
Farmland is enjoying its biggest revival in 30 years as investors including George Soros and TIAA-Cref bet that crop prices, chiefly grains, will be supported by shortfalls in production as demand mounts. In parts of the Midwestern U.S., land prices have risen as much as threefold, while broker Knight Frank LLP estimates U.K. values rose 38 percent on average in the first half alone.
“Some of the opportunities internationally are outstanding,” Bridgeman said in an interview at his office in London. He favors farms in Australia, Brazil, Canada and Romania, where he expects higher returns than in the U.S, or his native U.K.

Billionaire investor George Soros owns a stake in Adecoagro SA, the owner of 225,000 hectares (556,000 acres) of farmland in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. TIAA-Cref, the largest manager of retirement funds in the U.S., said it bought $340 million of farmland in seven states in the U.S. at the end of last year.Bridgeman said investors in the Schroder fund will gain a diversified range of investments spread across Europe, South America and Australia, while the units listed in London will be traded on a daily basis.
Schroders Plans to Raise $480 Million for Global Farmland Fund
The elites have got to really be rolling in belly laughs watching the stupid Americans scrambling about with all of their goofy Green campaigns, their idiot hybrids, their curly light bulbs and now, their tire gauges. As the grown-up countries in the world scramble to get their share of the earth’s resources – and re-arrange a few borders while they are at it – the dimwitted denizens of this once proud nation shed tears over Polar Bears and mother earth.
Soros, Heinz, Pelosi, Bush, Clinton, Obama, McCain, their masters and their multitudinous retinue of lackeys and international troops of minions are re-shaping the world in front of our eyes while, like obsessive compulsive psychopaths, we engage in feverish discussions about who should and who should not be permitted to say nigger during the most critical presidential election in this nation’s history. We ain’t going to be calling each other nothing but losers if we keep acting like the world is the la la land Obama and crew want us to believe.
If a future generation of Americans somehow survive the debacle we now bring upon them, they will curse us from the depth of their souls. As they should, as they damn well should…

Brown Shirts for the Green Regime and American Suckers
Well, this certainly is something that would appeal to the Obama camp. Apparently an energy outfit is recruiting your kid to be a little nazi, a brown shirt for the green regime. I am sure their training will help prepare them for membership in Obama’s soon to be introduced Hitler’s youth.
Can I be the only one more than a little disturbed by the latest campaign to be fronted by energy company npower?
Launched today with large colour ads in the Sundays, it appeals directly to children, urging them to enlist as “climate cops”, to root out “climate crimes”, and thus “save the planet”.
In a luridly-designed website, mimicking the style of “yoof” cartoons, it offers a bundle of downloads, including a pack of “climate crime cards”, urging its recruits to spy on families, friends and relatives, inviting each of them to build up a “climate crime case file” in order to help them ensure their putative criminals do not “commit those crimes again (or else)!”Quite what the “or else!” should be is not specified, but since the “climate cops” are being encouraged to keep detailed written records (for those who can read and write), there is nothing to stop these being submitted to the “Climate Cops HQ” for further sanctions, the repeat offenders being sent to re-education camps. And for those “climate cops” that successfully perform the “missions” set (or turn in their own parents), there is the reward of “training” in the “Climate Cop Academy”.

While Americans continue to be suckered into AL Gore’s monstrous lies, the rest of the world is diligently pursung drilling, coal and nuclear power. Aren’t you tired of being suckered America?
Sphere: Related ContentThe rest of the world knows that green sources of energy are inadequate to keep their people out of poverty. That is why around the world, from Europe to South America to Asia, countries are building coal and nuclear power plants at a dizzying pace while also drilling for oil wherever they can find it. Meanwhile, the United States, crippled by an out-of-control environmental movement, is refusing to develop needed energy sources.

Green Weenies Don’t Want to Scrub Away Carbon, Just America
Sane Americans have long recognized that Al Gore and his league of climate whores have little concern about the environment, but a great deal of interest in castrating America’s economy and each citizen’s freedom and mobility. Further proof is offered in the green weenie’s rejection of Columbia University’s recent development of a carbon scrubbing technology that will make those big bad carbon footprints rather irrelevant.
Great the crisis is solved we won’t be eating each other as Ted Turner suggested earlier this summer right? Not so fast. First it is my opinion that the belief of man made global warming is a hoax designed to take freedoms away from people and their money as well.
And proof of this is a quote by a member of Green Peace: “There’s no magic bullet to save us from the problem of global warming,” said Kert Davies, a so called energy expert for Greenpeace USA in Washington, D.C. “Removing greenhouse gases so readily will not encourage people to develop alternate, renewable technologies, he said, and strive for energy efficiency.”
The Carbon Scrubber?
No indeed. Green Peace and their tribe of climate lackey’s idea of a magic bullet is one lodged right into the heart of capitalism, free markets and a free America.

Green Nazis Must be Gloating These Days
I can just imagine the green nazis, or Progressives as they like to call themselves, rubbing their hands together in orgasmic glee as they see a growing number of Americans unable to travel, unable to take family vacations, or like me, with a limited income, not being able to take the grand kids on our usual road adventures. They probably are patting each other on the backs with self-congratulatory pomposity as they push through their insidious “public transport” or, as they read about Americans not being able to pursue homes far from the city because the commute went from just being a pain in the ass to one that imposes an onerous financial hit.

And they just must be salivating in anticipation as bills like this latest bastard piece of legislative meddling is presented to the pathetic asses we elected into office. Instead of brainstorming for ways to drill or build nuke plants, they instead seek ways to make our lives worse via economic and legislative extortion. My interpretation of each proposal is in red.
Anxious to look like they’re doing something about rising oil and gas prices — but unwilling to expand domestic oil drilling — Democrats have introduced a bill that’s supposed to ease pain at the pump by offering alternatives to driving.
The bill does nothing to increase domestic energy supply. Instead, it’s focused on the demand side of the equation, and that’s earned it kudos from environmental activists.
According to the Environmental Defense Fund, the bill — called the Transportation and Housing Options for Gas Price Relief Act of 2008 — would allocate taxpayer money to:
– expand public transportation;
increase tax burden and open up suburbs for criminals to find new targets for home invasions and assaults
– encourage “pay-as-you-drive” auto insurance policies that reward low-mileage drivers with lower insurance premiums;
penalize drivers who do not cooperate with the green agenda to suffer exorbitant insurance rates– reduce commuting costs by providing incentives to employers and employees to take transit, bicycle, carpool, walk, or telecommute to work;
marginalizing those who love to drive, need to drive, want to drive and rewarding the sheeple who comply as well as imposing more burdens on the business owner. When will it become too much a hassle for a businessman to hire normal Americans anymore. And has anybody ever thought about the time ramifications? A ten minute commute becomes an hour long bike ride. Next they’ll want companies to provide shower facilities so these sweating little comrades don’t stink up the office.
– help local governments create “walkable, bikeable” communities;
extort more money from taxpayers to put more expensive “lipstick on a pig” by sticking housing in undesirable urban areas, penalizing builders by making it unprofitable to build outside urban areas.– help Americans make “smart” transportation and housing choices by educating them about their options;
indoctrinate, via the media, schools and every progressive pulpit, that to desire a free unencumbered life is “un-American and anti-social”.
– create “location efficient mortgages” that would make owning a home near transit more affordable.
only the wealthy will be able to afford to build and live outside of the city. If the progressive freaks don’t buy up all the available land and slam some conservation restrictions on thousands of acres. But hell, these are the whores who hate the concept of private property to begin with.
The bill also would require the federal government to upgrade key Web sites so Americans would have easier access to government services without leaving home or work.
What the hell does this mean? How many Americans make a habit of going to government offices except those already with their mouth glued to a government teat
Democrats Float Bill to Curb Gasoline Demand
Brendan O’Neill gets it right in ” Greens Are the Enemies of Liberty”. I suggest that you click the link and read it all. An excerpt follows:
Environmentalists want to curb our freedom far more than the government’s anti-terrorist laws ever will…
Imagine a society so illiberal that columnists felt no qualms about demanding government legislation to force us to change our behaviour; where the public was continually implored to feel guilty about everything from driving to shopping – and where those who refused to feel guilty were said to be suffering from a “psychological” disorder or some other species of mental illness”.Surely no one would put up with such a society? Yet today, all of the above things are happening – under what we might call the tyranny of environmentalism – and people are putting up with it.
[...]
Liberty – true liberty – requires that people see themselves as self-respecting, self-determining subjects, capable of making free choices and pursuing the “good life” as they see fit. Today, by contrast, we are warned that we are toxic, loaded, dangerous specimens, who must always restrain our instincts and aspire to austerity. This is not conducive to a culture of liberty; indeed, it represents a dangerous historic shift, from the Enlightenment era of free citizenship to a new dark age where individuals are depicted as meek in the face of more powerful, unpredictable forces: the gods of the sea, sky and ozone layer. And what of those individuals who say “to hell with environmentalism” and continue living the way they want to? Apparently, in the words of the Ecologist, they have a disordered “psychology”; they are victims of “self-deception and mass denial”.
Some greens openly admit they are on the side of illiberalism. George Monbiot describes environmentalism as “a campaign not for more freedom but for less”. Environmentalism is instinctively and relentlessly illiberal, and it is doing more to inculcate people with fear, self-loathing and a religious-style sense of meekness than any piece of anti-terror legislation ever could. If you believe in freedom, you must reject it.”

Barack Obama Bad for Canada Too
Obama’s Vow Could Threaten Industry
Sphere: Related Content– Barack Obama on Tuesday vowed he would break America’s addiction to “dirty, dwindling and dangerously expensive” oil if he is elected U.S. president — and one of his first targets might well be Canada’s oilsands.
A senior adviser to Obama’s campaign told reporters it’s an “open question” whether oil produced from northern Alberta’s oilsands fits with the Democratic candidate’s plan to shift the U.S. sharply away from consumption of carbon-intensive fossil fuels.
“If it turns out that those technologies don’t advance … and the only way to produce those resources would be at a significant penalty to climate change, then we don’t believe that those resources are going to be part of the long-term, are going to play a growing role in the long-term future,” said Jason Grumet, Obama’s senior energy adviser.
The remarks amount to a shot across the bow of Alberta’s oilsands industry, which is planning to boost production from 1.3 million barrels a day to 3.5 million barrels over the next decade. The industry has come under sustained attack from U.S. environmentalists over the past year because the production of its heavy oil emits an estimated three times more greenhouse gases than conventional oil.

Are You Sick of Being Gored by Al Yet?
Vaudevillian PT Barnum made famous the phrase, “A sucker is born every minute.” My guess is he wasn’t imagining that America would one day mass produce them. Al Gore did. His fraudulent carbon credit scams, however, are a bit more serious than vaudeville huckstering.
If Americans allow this global warming farce to be foisted upon them, history will one day mock and scorn a people who so blithely marched a wealthy and thriving nation into the abyss. Indeed, I have no doubt that future historians will render Al Gore in the ignominy he so richly deserves and hail PT Barnum a wiser man by far.
Sphere: Related ContentA year and a half ago, James Spann questioned the money and the so-called scientific consensus pushing the idea that mankind is causing global warming. Today, he says it’s losing steam. Two imminent surveys of meteorologists may further complicate the climate debate. […] “[Y]ou know, there was some great power in that movement back in January of 2007,” Spann said. “It’s pretty rapidly running out of gas and it just seems like every day more and more people are coming out with the fact that that’s pretty much a hoax. And these are Ph.D climatologists that are pretty much saying what I said all along.”
In January 2007, Spann received national attention when he wrote a post on his blog challenging a post by The Weather Channel climate expert Dr. Heidi Cullen. Cullen had argued that meteorologists should have the American Meteorological Society (AMS) credentials taken away if they doubt the validity of manmade climate change. “If a meteorologist can’t speak to the fundamental science of climate change, then maybe the AMS shouldn’t give them a Seal of Approval,” Cullen wrote for Weather.com on Dec. 21, 2006. Spann fired back on Jan. 18, 2007: “Well, well,” Spann wrote. “Some ‘climate expert’ on ‘The Weather Channel’ wants to take away AMS certification from those of us who believe the recent “global warming” is a natural process. So much for ‘tolerance’, huh?” Spann claimed at the time he didn’t know any broadcast meteorologists who were sold on the theory touted by global warming alarmists.
[…]
“Of course, the root of this whole thing is money,” Spann said. “And, there is a vast amount of wealth being generated by this whole issue. And I always recommend to folks – if anyone speaks on the subject, get a disclosure and find out their financial interests in it.”
[…]
“I’m not a politician, don’t understand it – I honestly don’t know,” Spann said. “But, I will tell you that there’s a lot of people who have gotten very, very wealthy – filthy rich off this subject. I think former Vice President [Al Gore] collects a minimum of $200,000 per speech on this and all of this money – it can corrupt anybody, and I just think it’s all about money.”

RIA Novosti – World – Estonian farmers face flatulence tax on cattle
TALLINN, May 8 (RIA Novosti) – Estonian farmers have received tax notices for methane emissions from their cattle, the country’s opposition party, the People’s Union of Estonia, said on Thursday.Ruminants produce large quantities of methane gas through belching and flatulence when they digest grass, which accounts for about 15-25% of overall gas emissions, according to different estimates.A single cow produces on average 350 liters of methane and 1,500 liters of carbon dioxide per day.“For Copa-Cogeca, an organization that unites farmers of the European Union, the information received from Estonian farmers came as a huge surprise, and they could not recall a similar precedent in any EU country,” said the party’s spokesman, Jaanus Marrandi.
No other EU country imposes a flatulence tax on farmers.
A year after joining the Kyoto protocol, authorities in New Zealand proposed introducing a flatulence tax saying that New Zealand cattle are responsible for 90% of the country’s methane emissions and 43% of greenhouse gas emissions.

Gore Goring the Planet
I wonder how long we will reap the poisoned harvest from Al Gore’s farcical global warming hysteria. Pretentious, self-aggrandizing green weenies prance about celebrating “Earth Day”, allaying their guilt, salving their continuously suppurating psychic wounds, meanwhile, the collateral damage from their war on capitalism takes it’s toll on all of those “little folks” that they purport to care so much about.
Oh well, if they continue ripening the potential for famine and food riots, they’ll be able to hold another one of their ever popular We-Are-the-World star studded concerts, record a new album of harmonized platitudes and all will be well. ![]()
Oh, I forgot to acknowledge Earth week, so here is my greeting to all the Green folks out there …
Concern is mounting because the new generation of biodegradable plastics ends up on landfill sites, where they degrade without oxygen, releasing methane, a greenhouse gas 23 times more powerful than carbon dioxide. This week the US national oceanic and atmospheric administration reported a sharp increase in global methane emissions last year.
“It is just not possible to capture all the methane from landfill sites,” said Michael Warhurt, resources campaigner at Friends of the Earth. “A significant percentage leaks to the atmosphere.”

…this from Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters:
As the international disaster of ethanol begins taking its toll on the planet — and, maybe more important, as press outlet after press outlet finally begins recognizing it — will media remember that Vice President Al Gore cast the tie-breaking vote in the Senate requiring this oxygenate be added to gasoline?
After all, regardless of recent reports blaming ethanol for world hunger problems, rising food costs, and increased greenhouse gases, it seems highly unlikely green media will want to tie any of these problems to Nobel Laureate Gore.

Sphere: Related ContentAre you tired yet of NBC’s extension of “Earth Day” into “Earth Week”? Washington Examiner columnist Timothy Carney exposes the very convenient truth behind parent company General Electric’s environmentalist cheerleading:
NBC Universal is owned by General Electric, which plays a regular role in this column because of how aggressively the company has hitched its profits to its lobbying successes. GE spends more than any other corporation in America on lobbying the federal government — more than $20 million annually over the past three years — and Green Week and Earth Week probably should be disclosed as lobbying efforts.
In many of GE’s businesses, the profit model appears to be: (1) invest in something for which there isn’t much demand; (2) then lobby to mandate or subsidize it …
GE’s coal gasification, solar power generation, electric cars and biodiesel businesses are the same: Consumers and investors acting with their own money would not patronize these technologies, but Congress, acting with your money, will. GE’s $20 million annual lobbying budget sees to it.
GE has also launched a venture dealing in “greenhouse gas credits,” which are literally worthless until Congress starts limiting greenhouse gas emissions. Throw in the expensive but unattractive light bulbs they’ve convinced Congress to mandate, and the pattern is clear.

Send The Bill to Al Gore
Laughing my ass off…
SAN DIEGO—It seems solar energy takes more green.
The San Diego Unified School District has suspended its solar energy efforts because power bills soared after the green initiative. The district says it’s paying up to $20,000 a year more on electricity after installing solar energy systems at 28 schools. Plans for solar installations at 22 other schools have now been put on hold.
School district energy management coordinator J. William Naish says spiking energy bills are the result of how San Diego Gas and Electric calculates charges to large power users.
Naish says it’s almost like the district is being penalized for going solar.
The formula used to calculate electricity rates in California is expected to change next month. Naish says he wants to see a few bills under the new rate system before reviving solar energy use.

A Green Weenie Wet Dream
If it isn’t the Islamists, it’s the damnable Green Weenies with their wealth redistribution global warming hysteria. Ligneus ‘s post on the same reminded me of a recent piece that exemplifies the spirit of the socialist left.
This arrogant ass, David Lindorff, finds solace in what he imagines to be the forthcoming devastation of the conservative populations who would supposedly bear the brunt of global warming.
…what we see is that huge swaths of conservative America are set to face a biblical deluge in a few more presidential cycles.
Then there’s the matter of the Midwest, which climate experts say is likely to face a permanent condition of unprecedented drought, making the place largely unlivable, and certainly unfarmable. The agribusinesses and conservative farmers that have been growing corn and wheat may be able to stretch out this doomsday scenario by deep well drilling, but west of the Mississippi, the vast Ogallala Aquifer that has allowed for such irrigation is already being tapped out. It will not be replaced.
So again, we will see the decline and depopulation of the nation’s vast midsection—noted for its consistent conservatism.
[...]
Already the Salton Sea is fading away and putting Palm Springs on notice that the good times are coming to an end. Another right-wing haven soon to be gone.
So the future political map of America is likely to look as different as the much shrunken geographical map, with much of the so-called “red” state region either gone or depopulated.
There is a poetic justice to this of course. It is conservatives who are giving us the candidates who steadfastly refuse to have the nation take steps that could slow the pace of climate change, so it is appropriate that they should bear the brunt of its impact.
The important thing is that we, on the higher ground both actually and figuratively, need to remember that, when they begin their historic migration from their doomed regions, we not give them the keys to the city. They certainly should be offered assistance in their time of need, but we need to keep a firm grip on our political systems, making sure that these guilty throngs who allowed the world to go to hell are gerrymandered into political impotence in their new homes.
There will be much work to be done to help the earth and its residents—human and non-human—survive this man-made catastrophe, and we can’t have these future refugee troglodytes, should their personal disasters still fail to make them recognize reality, mucking things up again.
It should be considered acceptable, in this stifling new world, to say,
“A firm grip on our political systems…”? I see, the “refugee troglodytes”, are expected to emerge like so many repentant serfs onto their “higher ground”, but can expect no say in the America that they are still, presumably, citizens of. And what about the conservatives who happen to live in the regions that the socialists apparently will have decided it is their right to appropriate as their own? Will they have to wear the mark of the beast to signify that they are lesser citizens? What about Jews and Christians, will they be “gerrymandered” too?
The author is right on one count. Should the left prevail, it will indeed be a stifling new world. With their complicity, it will be a world under an Islamic thumb. And in that world, quite frankly, fools like Lindorff who might seek refuge from sharia and the murder of women and gays will be met with a bullet if they seek safety in my foxhole. Why bother with gerrymandering? After all, I told them that they are failing to “recognize reality”. Sadly, thanks to fools like Dave Lindorff, there is far, far more probability of Islam devastating America than climate change.

No Thank You, I’ll Stick to Hummers
Personally, I see no appeal in returning to the primitive lifestyles that the global warming zealots seem to be so enamored of. The green-weenies, as I refer to them, never seem to touch on even the most practical implications and repercussions from their insane proposals. How, indeed, does commerce thrive if it is slowed down to a crawl? Or a trot, by France’s measures.
French towns worried about fuel prices, pollution and striking transport workers need look no further than the horse.
Horses are a possible alternative for vehicles such as school buses and refuse trucks, say groups eager to pick up on global concerns about eco-friendly transport.
“It’s all about sustainable development and bringing some humanity back to today’s monotonous, machine-driven jobs,” Stephane de Veyrac, from the French National Stud Organisation, said at this week’s annual conference of French mayors.
De Veyrac’s group says it is the first in France to offer consulting on a wide range of horse-powered vehicles that could also haul bottles and aid street sweeping.
(source)
All I can say is that the new gods of secularism are far more draconian than their arch enemy, the Christian god. Having dominion over the earth and being good stewards doesn’t translate into a recommendation for living in the squalor that would result should these earth zealots have their atavistic way. Why the hell can’t we read headlines about the latest advances in colonizing the moon? Instead the hypnotized acolytes of Gore-ism, who have the audacity to classify themselves as some sort of “progressives”, herald the return of the horse. At least such nonsense has yet to be announced in America, but no doubt it will be.
